If I hone a razor using Nagura stones on a Japanese stone then I do not need to test the edge. As long as It performs on the HHT I'm good. Synthetic stones honing I will try a shave test...
I know everybody can and does own differently, but you're the only one that I've seen turn the blade on the edge? you clearly do it good but everything I saw and heard was just the opposite so I kept on and kept on till I finally did it the opposite way, which I thought was the right way? oh well. enjoy your videos

Interesting video. What do you do to test your edges before returning them to your customers? I actually do a short test shave.

That is Polyamide tape aka Kapton tape.
Really strong and smooth..

@@MrSilvestre587 The second layer is Kapton tape which is very durable and thin. It will save me from changing the black tape during honing.Thanks
