    Thanks! I have a 48" Cub Cadet and it vibrates a lot and I will have to check the spindles! Great video!

    I have an exmark pioneer of simiilar deck spindle. I found out one needed replacing after it locked up and broke my deck belt. With less than 300 hours on it out of warranty. Not the first part that broke under there. The drive idler pulley broke, i bought a new part but just to see i rebuilt the old one using jb weld and put it in and after one season with it in its still holding up.

    Hi. Just bought a pair of bearings for a spindle on my Big dog. I don't really want to remove the whole deck. Would it be easy enough to remove the spindle from the deck and replace the bearings on the workbench? Looks like it's just the 4 bolts holding the spindle in place.

      Great clear video! I'm in the process of replacing bearings on my Snapper ZT 44" deck. Is it possible I may not be able to access removal & replacement of upper and lower bearings from either end of the spindle? Almost looks like I have to take off spindle and insert via inside the spindle. If so, my biggest problem will be removing spindle from the deck since bolts are pretty rusty! Thanks for your help ahead,. Keith

    Good job, question, why not apply a thin coat of grease to the bearings allowing them to be driven in easier, what would it have hurt?

      If it makes it easier to go in then it'll be easier for it to come out. I wasn't the bearings in there as secure as possible.

    Clean up those spindle shafts for easier insertion

    Roughly how many hours do you get from a set of bearings?

      They were noisy when I had the deck off last season so I replaced them. About 4-500 hours.

    When I try to remove the bolt for the spindle, underneath where the blade attaches, it just spins. Any advice?

      Put a block of wood under there with blade on.. it will stop it turning!

    I bought one just like it but did not have a drive belt on it what size is the drive belt on yours. Thanks

    Are they factory sealed or do I need to grease them?

    • @pfun41

      A normal 2rs bearing is already sealed. Depending on brand repacking them with better grease may not be a bad idea.

    Did you remove the blades before you pounded out the bearings?

    • @pfun41
      @pfun41  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I leave the blades on the spindles. There's no need to take them off.

    Question. For the price of buying 2 bearings, could someone just buy close to the cost of the whole assy? Not having go thru disassembling everything, possibly risking damage and not putting back together correctly? Just simply assy replace it?

    • @pfun41
      @pfun41  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the quality of the bearing and the cost of the mandrel assembly.

    You kinda cut away at what I'd call an important part of the instructional video. So I was curious about how you got the "snap ring" off? Cum-a-long, pry bar, needle picks, snap ring pliers? One more small question. When you screw the bolt on the shaft to knock the bearing out do you screw the bolt atw down?

    • @pfun41
      @pfun41  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I kept doing exactly what you see for a boring amount of time. Screw it all the way down.
