23:13 I would just like to add, I agree with the way you worded that. However, the behavior you describe such as "self sabotage" and "pushing people away" is an Avoidant attachment style, which is usually the result of formerly having Anxious attachment, but being hurt/left way too many times.
Next up, the Wedding Anniversary Episode! I still like the little detail that Luna can't read the book in red light because she's a dog, and dogs are color blind.
28:40 Unfun Fact: This is taken from life. At one point during the Cold War, the presidential launch codes on all of America's nuclear silos were quietly overwritten to nine zeros. Thankfully, none of the operators were crazy enough to launch a nuke without orders, but it would have been better to never test that. Once the whistle was blown on this incredibly terrible decision, and the security codes were put back in place, the General responsible was given a minimal reprimand. His excuse was that he had wanted to minimize response time, in the event of an actual nuclear exchange.
I love this show and this really is one of the best episodes. The music is great, the animation style changes are fun, there’s comedy and action but also sincere emotional moments too. It’s just a great ride from start to finish.
Trying to make a drinking game out of Blitzo being a lewd fuck is a dangerous thing.... even drinking 'just water' could still be enough to get you messed up. That said..... damn I love the reveals of just how much depth these characters have to them! And yes, Blitzo and Stolas are just, so adorably wholesomely messed up together!
I love all the little details like that when they show the building there is a agent who turns the big searchlight and even better another one who is holding a melee weapon...on the roof of this big building...with no binoculars or anything...
I've seen some convincing analyses of Blitzo as having many BPD traits. His behavior isn't any less awful, but after this episode it makes a lot more sense.
Theres a meme I saw once and was never able to find again that made me do a spit take. It was a screen shot of the fight with Moxie labeled as "10 year old me", Luna was "My Pokémon", the dead henchmen were "team rocket grunts" and the two agents cowering under the desk were "Jessie and James".
39:11 I’m still so worried at this point, that something is going to happen to Stolas, to where his life is in real jeopardy. He’s had 2 death flags in Season 1 by this point. The song he sang in Episode 2, where he sang that song for his daughter, some of the lyrics were “And when creation goes to die, you can find me in the sky, upon the last day…and you will be okay.” It’s like a haunting and bittersweet warning to Octavia to prepare for the worst, in case he passes. Also, in this episode, of all the camera recordings, Stolas’ entrance was obviously captured when the red lights were on, but the camera that recorded him is also the last one to go out, and there’s a bit of delay after the others. That’s like textbook red flag for a character death, or at least an incident. And yes, I have seen everything through Season 2 at this point, so I know there’s some stuff that has happened since this episode, but still, it’s a nagging feeling in my mind that Stolas is in grave danger.
Love this episode, so sad I missed the stream. Loved Moxxie in this EP, and Millie was just a badass as usual. (Also I was born September too! Go team Virgos!")
The spinning blade move that Millie used was in Mortal Kombat 10 if you chose Scorpion as your avatar in the arcade mode. But he used his kunai chain spear while Millie used a battle ax. Same effect but different weapon.
So, something I just realized about these trips is that with blitzo's trip, I thought it was meant to represent a grungy punk style of animation. But I realize now it's meant to be the Max Fleischer animation style, showing the dichotomy between Moxie and Blitzo. Disney and Fleischer
Stolas’ entrance reminds me of a scene from the OG Teen Titans, from S2E5 “Fear Itself”, when Raven conquers her personified fear, and then it takes the form of a crow and stretches its wingspan over the Titan Tower and the city. I was told once that much of Raven’s character design was made with the Ars Geisha in mind.
"what are you?" "im a virgo" as a virgo (aug)as well i found that joke really funny when i first heard it XD also they being from hell means its completely possible to have interacted with his mom(if she was there of course) them saying sorry after telling the truth means they didnt like to tell each other the truth. im fairly sure mox's VA did do musicals in the past so this ep he was in his element
So something I don't see mentioned a lot when people talk about this episode. In several scenes we see Blitz be very very protective of everyone. When trouble showed up his first instinct was girls close the portal stay safe. When Moxie was hit he went full feral to protect him. When they are cornered by the guys after everything closes down everyone is kind of scared the blitz is in front of everyone arms open the guard everyone. Mother f***** might have severe trauma and emotional issues but he is an absolute f****** bro and he will protect his people with his f****** life
I'd say blitzø's behavior & feelings are more typical of someone with disorganized (or fearful-avoidant) attatchment style, rather than anxious. Although I think when you were saying anxious, you might have just mean insecure attachment, which is the umbrella for any of the attachment types other than secure. (Those three types are anxious, avoidant, and disorganized/fearful-avoidant) Anxious attachment behavior tends more towards things people label "clingy", and things like constantly worried a partner is going to leave them, if someone doesn't text back right away that means the person hate them, etc. (Obv no judgement. It's rooted in trauma responses.) As someone with a fearful-avoidant style myself, blitzø is a common iteration of it (tho ofc not everyone is the same.) Its wanting to be close and vulnerable with people, but when you start to get close, that intimacy triggers intense fear and anxiety. Often fearful-avoidants will try to alleviate it by either distancing and self-isolating (unfortunately my m.o.) or, like blitzø, push people away with hurtful behavior. Without working on it, we tend to be very mixed-signal people who seem randomly hot and cold toward people, even though that's not what we intend. (Again, its rooted in trauma.) Just figured you might be interested in it since you had touched upon it in the episode!
I only order food with food apps. I was a McDonald’s manager for 5 years and even we got super complicated orders and it sucked when either the order taker misheard a single detail or the customer said something wrong. I’m also super self conscious about how much I put in my coffee. I take a ton of cream.
This was a wonderfully creative twist. Hope you didn't drink too much as a result. (also the similarities to Moxxie were cool) Also also MERRY CHRISTMAS
I only just now realized this after seeing many people react to this episode. If this is them in their own minds & not talking to each other or a mix of both then that means Moxxie constantly has pegging on his mind as comparison of things & probably just in general. ...Millie is very good at it for that to be the case I'd think lol
Personally I think it's implied the psychedelic haze is a filter and they ARE actually having a conversation; "Then I'm torturing you in YOUR hallucination!" Moxie yells at him because he thinks Blitz can hear him, and since afterward there's the WONDERFUL awkward silence, as if it's the climax of an emotional argument.
When Stolas say "I have my ways, darling." my headcanon is that it's probably the most mundane part of him showing up. His ways was that he was lurking on Blitzø hellstagram when the shit hit the fan.
Those DHORK agents really loved their ninja weapons. But you know what a ninja's favorite weapon ever was? Fucking guns! It's no wonder they sucked so badly.
This is my favourite episode in season 1. Power wise, Stolas is only two ranks below Lucifer. Hierarchy in hell is: Lucifer Deadly Sins Ars Goetia (Stolas) Natural born demons. I am only including characters from Helluva Boss, as those from Hazbin Hotel are primarily concerned only with the Pride ring and do not interact with the rest of Hell.
If think this episode is sad, oh boy they explore Blitz a lot more and man do they hold no punches, his story isn’t something I want to spoil but man he has some DEEP SHIT
The reason why blitzø’s hallucination was so much more worse than Moxies is because he hates himself and also every character that you hear in blitzo’s hallucination is actually just blitzo’s, everything in his hallucination is him talking about himself.😢😭❤He hates himself because of what he did which you’ll find out in season two episode six. That’s why he crosses his fade out of his pictures on the wall of his room.😅😢 he is just scared of dying alone, and that’s his whole hallucination thing about. He just wants to be loved!🥲🥺😣😘 never a question and never be rude to someone you don’t know that well because they can be going thought very hard things like family and friends ETC..😠😭

Btw the move Alicia couldn’t place is the Pop Shredder. It’s one of Dante’s sword attacks in Devil May Cry from 3 onwards. He’s also in MVC3 and MVCI which may be where she’s seen that move.
coming back and hearing millie say "the boys are in trouble" rather than "my husband is in trouble" hits so much harder now knowing that she sees blitz as her best friend

23:13 I would just like to add, I agree with the way you worded that. However, the behavior you describe such as "self sabotage" and "pushing people away" is an Avoidant attachment style, which is usually the result of formerly having Anxious attachment, but being hurt/left way too many times.
It should be noted that Stolas is more powerful than Alastor the Radio demon from Hazbin Hotel
The entire series technically could be considered a musical since they have a song in every episode.
This is my favorite episode when Stolas pops off I get so hype.
Being constantly emotionally invalidated by his father probably busted his brain like how I got my BPD.
Am I the only one who always heard moxie refer to himself not as a Virgo but a FUR GOAT and i still hear it
Yeah funny thing i did not know that virgo is even a thing so i always heard it as fur goat
i heard Virgo but i mishear things all the time so i can't blame you
Theres a meme I saw once and was never able to find again that made me do a spit take.
I related to Blitzo and Moxxie's interrogation scene so much. Reminds me of how I can get when I drink too much 🥴
25:48 that hey was so synced up, following the whole similarities segment on the coffee / sign bit just makes it more accurate
should be noted moxie's VA loves musicals and pretty sure has done some broadway?
Alicia when drunk is even funnier.
Love this episode, so sad I missed the stream. Loved Moxxie in this EP, and Millie was just a badass as usual. (Also I was born September too! Go team Virgos!")
4:22 I mean, if they wouldn’t kink shame on Earth what makes you think they would kink shame in Hell?
The spinning blade move that Millie used was in Mortal Kombat 10 if you chose Scorpion as your avatar in the arcade mode. But he used his kunai chain spear while Millie used a battle ax. Same effect but different weapon.
been waiting for what feels years for her to continue the series
One of my favorite episodes of the show. It might actually be my favorite
She got lit as hell bro 😂
So, something I just realized about these trips is that with blitzo's trip, I thought it was meant to represent a grungy punk style of animation. But I realize now it's meant to be the Max Fleischer animation style, showing the dichotomy between Moxie and Blitzo. Disney and Fleischer
Also a lot of Pink Floyd with The Wall
@@rosenrot234 I can see that too
Them fucking with their captors was amazing, and this has one of those really great fight scenes in the series
"It's adjustable, it's not that bad. And IT'S OUR WEDDING NIGHT!" truly the argument of all time
This series has apparently given me a pavilion response to Blitzø’s name because as soon as you said his full name I said out loud the O is silent
Stolas' rage scene was awesome
This and the next two episodes have the best songs of the entire first season in them.
(Those three types are anxious, avoidant, and disorganized/fearful-avoidant)
Anxious attachment behavior tends more towards things people label "clingy", and things like constantly worried a partner is going to leave them, if someone doesn't text back right away that means the person hate them, etc. (Obv no judgement. It's rooted in trauma responses.)
As someone with a fearful-avoidant style myself, blitzø is a common iteration of it (tho ofc not everyone is the same.) Its wanting to be close and vulnerable with people, but when you start to get close, that intimacy triggers intense fear and anxiety. (Again, its rooted in trauma.)
Just figured you might be interested in it since you had touched upon it in the episode!
I love how Moxxie is basically your spirit animal ❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥
I only order food with food apps. I was a McDonald’s manager for 5 years and even we got super complicated orders and it sucked when either the order taker misheard a single detail or the customer said something wrong. I’m also super self conscious about how much I put in my coffee. I take a ton of cream.
This was a wonderfully creative twist. Hope you didn't drink too much as a result. (also the similarities to Moxxie were cool)
Also also MERRY CHRISTMAS
This is 100% my favorite episode of Helluva Boss.
It is not just in their own minds, it is very much a combination of talking to eachother AND hallucinating their subconscious thoughts.
I believe they DO talk to each other, plus he knows that's what Blitz would've said
36:11 ive said it before but stolas' theme is just the best theme ive heard in a long time
This episode above any other showed this show will be more than “haha, funny demons”
This is a Christmas gift, the react of the best episode coming out today
When Stolas say "I have my ways, darling." my headcanon is that it's probably the most mundane part of him showing up. His ways was that he was lurking on Blitzø hellstagram when the shit hit the fan.
Those DHORK agents really loved their ninja weapons. But you know what a ninja's favorite weapon ever was?
Fucking guns! It's no wonder they sucked so badly.
This is my favourite episode in season 1.
Power wise, Stolas is only two ranks below Lucifer. Hierarchy in hell is:
Lucifer
Deadly Sins
Ars Goetia (Stolas)
Natural born demons.
5:34 That's quite considerate of you. Verbally listing out is annoying as you know.
11:35 Okay at this point you and your fiance should cosplay as Millie and Moxxie.
This was definitely my favorite episode of season 1
We Virgo babies RISE!🔥🔥🔥 8:39
Stolas likes to play that he’s weak and needs blitzos protection but in reality he is epically powerful.
That was obvious since Loo Loo Land.
He obviously was just playing along to A: Not deal with it so he could focus on Octavia. And B: Because watching Blitz work gets his rocks off.
Bird Boi can petrify an imp with a look. He’s a demon prince that’s an order of magnitude above Alastor.
So glad I found these reactions. You vibe with the show so well these are so fun to watch.
It only gets better and better from here and I’m so excited to see your reaction to the next couple of episodes.
Also, Merry Christmas
This might be because I played along with the water game but this video in particular makes my serotonin jiggle
calling Blitz, "Blitzo" is the equivalent of deadnaming cuz it pisses him off for a reason... just thought you should know that...
The best episode being reacted to on christmas lets gooo
"OPEN THE F***ING PORTAL NOW!!!"
Me: (Salutes.) Yes, Ma'am.
Twenty-five seconds in and hearing about the drinking challenge, knowing full well what goes on in S1E6, and I'm afraid for your liver.
Same, she picked a hell of an episode to do it on
26:48 "the Hell you're Not"? isn't that phrase "the Hell you are"? so if he says that... it's a double negitive...
8:43 virgo love! Late August
Loona: We can't open it.
Millia: I will skin you alive!
Is the fighting game Alicia was trying to think of with Millie's big spinning death move Skullgirls? What Millie did reminded me of one of Painwheel's attacks.
Not sure if you pregamed, were taking huge sips, or are just a cheap date, but either way this was a pretty fun watch. If you aren't horribly hung over from this, maybe there can be more tipsy Helluva Boss episodes?
I love the fight scene in this episode, because it shows that, despite their knack for tomfoolery, the I.M.P. team is actually extremely competent at their job.
Blitzø does not love himself.
And he sees Stolas as both a saving grace and a controlling royal.
Your first mistake was making a drinking game about Blitz and him saying innuendos. That's alot of definitely water sips
This episode confirmed that M&M are basically just a demon version of the millennial DINK couple
