Yes Noelle, coreopsis is a beautiful perennial. Trimmed both down and maybe they will rebloom again. Wind flower or gaura sounds like a rewarding perennial to grow as blooms are long lasting. I have a bloomerang lilac just planted in the spring but hasn't bloomed yet. Will be sure to feed Plant Tone next spring at the suggestion of Angel Petitti as they like fertilizer high in phosphorous! Always appreciate both of your expert advice in the garden! Thanks, and as fall approaches this time of year is awesome in Northeast Ohio! Enjoy!
Anise Hyssop is another great option and it’s native to Ohio. It’s also a pollinator magnet and is full of bumblebees from Dawn to dusk. I’d recommend everyone have at least one of these in your garden!
I’m from Toronto, Canada 🇨🇦 zone 5b-love liatris & e West year I find more patches in my garden. I love Guara, but I had no idea it’s a perennial (is it for me in my zone?) it does sooo well in my containers & garden. I agree with all the plants you’ve shown. I have 95% of the ones you mentioned 😂 Sedums are so underused & hens & chicks. I’ve had for many many years & so amazing these plants
I got a couple boogie woogie and planted them in a full sun hot spot in my garden and I noticed they are starting to brown in the center. Does that mean they are getting too much water?
Sedum will brown out in the center when they are too dry or too wet. Check the soil around the plant by digging down 6" with a hand trowel or small shovel to see if there is moisture/ wet soil down there, if so, reduce your irrigation maintenance in that area. If dry, apply irrigation, 1" of water, 1x per week if it is not raining. Also, now is a good time to fertilize with Osmocote or Plant-tone, last feeding for the rest of the growing season to promote more plant growth and root development.
They can be planed all the way through early fall! Just be sure to water them well when they’re first planted. Once they’re established they will tolerate the heat well!
My goodness. , wonderful video. Thank you
Another excellent video Noelle 😊

Is it too late in the summer to plant cone flowers?
