Eating Grubs and Holding Tarantulas in Peru's Amazon Rainforest 🇵🇪

  • After fishing for piranhas and swimming in Peru's Amazon River (with who knows what), we decided to continue on with trying crazy new things, since we’d probably only be in the Amazon rainforest once. On day three, we agreed to eating the suri, which are large, chubby grubs that the Peruvian locals of the jungle enjoy eating for its great health benefits. And to follow that, on day four in the Amazon, we agreed to holding a large tarantula to end our wild adventure in the rainforest. We did so many crazy things that were far out of our comfort zones, and we had no regrets for any of it. Our time in Peru's Amazon will be one that we look back on and laugh about for many years years to come. We are so grateful to have had this experience in the jungle. This concludes our time in Peru- catch you all in the next country! 🇵🇪

I would eat the grubs and let a tarantula crawl on me but only if Freddie was near by. Guys, you are becoming a part of my life! I am so proud of your positive spirits and the mission you are sharing! I would quess you are going to be in Central America next. See you soon.

I’m an RV enthusiast, and to be completely honest with you both, I didn’t think I’d be liking your channel any longer once you sold your Ford Connect….WOW, WAS I EVER WRONG 😑
It’s not about your vehicle, it’s totally about your personalities and wonderfully joyous outlook on life! In this ever increasing dystopian World we live in today, I feel that because of you two, THE WORLD is a much better place to live in 👏🏼
Please continue being safe out there 🤗

Hey Robert! Sorry for the delay in response. Honestly, we expected a lot of people to leave our channel after selling the van and obviously some have, but we are finding SO much joy in our new video series. Thank you for your incredibly kind words, we are so glad you enjoy our outlook on life. :)

Awesome Amazon Rain Forest video! Bravo 👏 👏 👏. This is Modern time Fear Factor and better. You are amazing pushing each other to do the impossible. Swim in the river, fish sharp tooth piranhas, ear grub and let tarantula crawl on your body. Wow that is really impressive. Once again, your background preparation, presentation, story telling and drone shots are outstanding and top notch.
Can’t wait for your next adventure and action packed video.
My guess is south East Asia (Taiwan/Thailand or Malaysia). Have a safe journey.

I just found you two and binge watched your entire Peru adventure. I am American and my husband is Peruvian and we live in Florida. His family is still in Lima so a lot of back and forth. We are actually flying to Lima 7/27/22 to spend their independence day 7/28 in Peru. Then we fly back down on 10/20-10/30/22. We are taking my middle grandson who loves Peru as much as I do. I have been to Peru several times (a bunch) and am captivated each time. Sensory overload is my favorite description of Peru. Thank you so much for sharing your adventures and I look forward to watching many more. You two are knowledgeable and informative. Plus!! You are adorable together....Your new friends Rick and David

Peru in 2024 for us. What a beautiful series of Peru vlog. We will be on a tour so will miss some of the beautiful places you traveled. When Claire cooked the tomato beef dish in the cooking class, I noticed that it is the dish I cooked often at home. Later you provided the background infos about Chinese influence, I was laughing out loud. Food culture brings out a lot of history and ways of life of a country. Good job.

I also LOVED seeing you with the children and showing them the drone!!! So sweet! What an absolutely amazing trip that I know you will treasure the memories of always!!! I feel like I should say "congratulations" to you both for this trip! Sixteen hours of travel and all the nerves that went along with that deserves MORE than congratulations!!! Job well done! Hi guys! Amazing trip in Peru you had! I hope you can help me! We are planning ourhoneymoon in Peru next year and we only habe 15 days! So we have to pick and discard destination.
    We have some doubts:
    Desert or Jungle?
Titicaca or Colca? I know you didnt so Colca, buy anyway…
    Our current plan is:
Lima, arequipa, Colca, cuzco, sacred valley, machu pichu, cuZco and jungle (iquitos or puerto maldonado)
    Any advice will be welcome!

woooou!! great video! In my case my experience was different, for video and instagram purposes that lodge called tree house is very nice and even something luxurious, the problem is at night, since the rooms do not have windows, the only thing that will save you from a tarantula or snake while you sleep It is a mosquito net or mesh which makes you think about it during the night so you don't get to sleep for fear that some animal will get into your room... I use the internet in the jungle in a cabin-type hostel At that time, I was able to get a promo with yakumama tours, according to what I read in other comments, it is the most reliable for hospitalizations and well, it went well, good attention and the good thing is that their rooms are well closed, now you can sleep peacefully, what if An important detail is that due to the geography, the telephone and internet signal does not reach, so if you do teleworking it is not a good option. A detail for travelers is not to book the tours with a swimming pool, it is super dangerous because they usually do not maintain it and there is the problem of the mosquitoes and that amoeba and then if something happens to you they do not give you a guarantee, take it into account travelers to take their own bottled water to avoid upset stomach in the amazon.
