  • I really love this bike. It is great for the trails. It has a good power curve for trail riding. The only problem is there are times when I want more power than I know what to do with. In this video, I review the KLX 300R. Please leave a comment below with any questions. For the headlight and other accessories I have on my KLX, check out the links below.
    Check out my affiliate links. Every little bit helps. It helps me get more resources for the channel. Thank you all for your support. I hope I can make this channel get even better.

    Perfect. I’m an older rider back into it. This seems exactly what I’m looking for. Was riding modded pit bikes with my son and missed the power and larger wheels. Want reliable and 4 stroke. And everything I ride is roots and single track. Planted sounds exactly what I want. Just want to go it and explore without tearing off rear fenders. 🤟

      Yeah, this bike is great in the trails. It’s like a tractor. My race bikes are harder to hang onto compared to the KLX I can just lug through the trail at low rpm. My race bike has to be at higher rpm. This is one bike that I will always hang into.

    I still ride a pretty fresh vg original 01 kdx 220r, and I feel the same way. Best bike ever, super fun, and will do just about everything I need it to, but it doesn’t really give that rush that comes from having gobs of excess power for the odd time you can use it. The Yamaha blaster of dirt bikes basically.

      I’m wondering if that’s why I read about people trading in their KLX a lot of the time. I love mine, but there are times I want to have that race bike power. I guess that’s why there are a lot of x models like the kx250x. I see them sell quickly in my area.

      @@RidinWithD-cv5hu I’m overall really happy with my KDX, and I know if I sold it and upgraded to a more powerful bike, I’d regret selling it. It’s the better trail/fun bike than probably many of the bigger two strokes, and definitely much more manageable than a 450. Big power is fun, but also tiresome on longer rides. I think the KLX is probably in the same boat as far as ride ability and reliability.

    I'm 41 years old and never driven a motorcycle or dirtbike before. Do you think this would be a good fit for me, I have been riding atv's for years but never one with a clutch.

    • @RidinWithD-cv5hu
      @RidinWithD-cv5hu  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, if you’re tall enough. It is very easy clutch release on this bike. It is easy to go slow unlike a race bike. But it is a full size bike . I’m 5’10 and my feet touch half on the ground. For a first time rider that can be a little intimidating. When I first started I wanted to be able to have my feet flat on the ground. If you are shorter than me you might want to look at the Klx 230. But my height or taller the 300 is great .

      Absolutely this is my first dirt bike after riding quads for 25 years

      I’m 47, also a brand new rider. I looked at the 300R very seriously for the past year, but went with a 230R instead for the weight savings and lower price point. I’m also 5’10” and my feet touch the ground on the 230R. So far it’s had all the performance a noob needs on midwestern trails. I do want to add a more performance oriented trail bike in the next year or two (Beta200RR? Rieju 200 MR? Husky TX300?), but I’ll never sell the 230R. It will become the ‘ol’ reliable back-up ride for friends & family.
      Note: I dumped the 230R on a steep rocky ravine a few weeks ago. The ground was very loose and grade was steep. I was also wedged down in the ravine which was only about 4 feet across. I was just barely able to lift the 230 up in this awkward situation. I think if I were on the heavier 300R I would have been walking back out of the woods for help. 😂

    I’m 5’3” and looking for my first bike. I really like this one. Do you think it's possible to lower the bike so I feel confident?

    • @RidinWithD-cv5hu
      @RidinWithD-cv5hu  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes you can buy lowering kits . I’ve read mixed reviews. Some suggest taking it to a professional for suspension to lower them correctly . You might want to look at the KLX 230 for something you can just ride and not worry about lowering.

    What tail light you got on it? I am considering one of these for my 3rd bike. Got a 1996 KDX200 and a 2019 KTM250XC for racing and looking for a low maintenance backup.

    • @RidinWithD-cv5hu
      @RidinWithD-cv5hu  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think this would be a good choice for low maintenance. For a tail light I have the Tusk enduro kit amzn.to/3OtJMOK.
      It came with everything needed to install the light. I put mine with the front brake but I think you could do it with the rear brake as well. I didn’t drill any holes In the bike I used what was already there and just got longer bolts.

      @@RidinWithD-cv5hu another quick question did you run any spacers or anything when you mounted on the three existing bolts up in that fender area?

    • @RidinWithD-cv5hu
      @RidinWithD-cv5hu  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I want to say I used some washers. I didn’t have to use many if I’m thinking correctly. Luckily there is a large amount of flex on the light so it sort of formed the way of the finder.
