josh and katie, you guys have matured SO MUCH since i first started watching you 5 years ago. you guys are self aware of your flaws but also confident in all of your strengths. it’s so amazing to watch
You guys are so much fun to watch. I love how both of you smile so much because Skye Mae smiles as much as her parents. Your journey together has been amazing. May God continue to bless you with his amazing love. ❤❤😍
Something I found really helpful when introducing solids was mixing breastmilk with things like avocado makes it softer. It also helps to prevent little one from getting backed up. I also went into introducing solids with the idea that I wanted to do baby lead weaning, but it’s just so scary, we started purées I literally cried the first time I gave my baby a bite of food because for her entire existence, my body was the source of her nutrition, and for something else to help her grow other than me made me emotional
If you don't have one already, I definitely recommend a small Gathre mat to go under the high chair to make for easy clean up (we also use them for a million other things). They're leather and so, so cute.
She is getting so big I love this family it’s my favorite Yt fam they are so cute and I have always just saw them as my comfort channel to watch at all times and I love Skye updates!!❤❤❤
Aww, Skye did so good her first time trying food! She is just the sweetest most happy baby, thanks to her amazing parents! Love all the firsts! Much love Brueckner Fam 🤍🤍💕🐶
Honestly so relieved I’m not the only one! I started food at 4 months with my little one but she just wasn’t ready. Now she’s 7 months and I’m just now slowly starting purées again 😅 and I felt bad because I see all these other baby’s eating full on meals at 7 months. So it’s nice to know I’m not alone
Aww! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I loved getting to see Skye eat her first real food! This was so fun! Skye is so cute and you both are amazing parents! ❤❤
Love this ! Go Skye! Try bananas next! Both my babies loved bananas & they can be mushed up so well. Welcome to the world of messes, learning & so much fun. ♥️ Happy for you guys! 😊
Y’all probably won’t see this but I love you 4 (Katie, Josh, Topper & Skye) I’ve watched JatieVlogs for so long now and it’s been an honour watching you and josh grow together and individually, you two have the most beautiful little family. I pray you always have one another 🤍
My baby started baby led weaning at 6 months, and at first it freaked me out too. It was super intimidating so I just breastfed most days. But I highlyyyy recommend using the solid starts app, it is so helpful and explains how to prepare almost any food for your babies age. I use it everyday and it’s so helpful! Good luck, you’re doing awesome! ❤
This was so cute!!! I love hearing that you guys held off on food too. We have a baby born 9/3 and haven’t done food yet because we felt the same way. This video was too cute!!!!!
Food before one is just for fun is such a myth and BLW has been huge in my household!!! It teaches them fine motor skills and provides extra nutrition alongside breastmilk. Obviously milk is the main nutrition before one but food adds do that. Also the silicone plates make the food taste like soap after washing them so I would switch them! Obviously do whatever is best for your family but BLW is so much fun once you and your baby get the hang of it! Also skye is just so adorable and you guys are such great parents to her 🥰
As a mom of 3. I will say dont feel pressure to do all the "popular " mom trends like baby led weaning etc. I did purrees with all 3 of my girls until they had teeth then introduced small pieces of food You will figure out whats best for you and baby skye for eating. Justike everything else in parenthood its a learning curve and you and skye are both learning togather. You both are great parents and doing an incrediable job with Skye!!
Hey guys, love you guys. I have been watching your videos for five years and I love you guys so much. You are the best parents besides my parents I love your vids
I am a first time momma as well. My baby started teething at 3 months and has grown 8 teeth at 5 months. I breastfeed all the way till 4 months then did formula from there because baby teeth are no joke. I introduced my baby (around 4-5 months) to food that I was able to squash, I think when you give babies food that are either pureed or squashable it gives the child a less possibility of choking. Ultimately, I think it is up to the parents and the development of the baby to really determine when and what they eat. Like every parent and baby you guys will figure out what is best for you and cutie Skye. You are guys are doing awesome!
I’m not one who normally comments but something I would suggest now that Skye is starting solids is checking on the things dogs are toxic to! There were some things I was unaware dogs were to toxic to when I first started solids with my baby.
Hey fellow Mum here - the one new food at a time for at least 2 days thing is not just an allergy check, it's also because for each new food her tummy has to make new enzymes to digest that food - each food we eat requires different enzymes - and so if you give too many new foods at once it can be hard for them to digest and they will get a sore tummy
You did good momma, everyone is different. They say not to feed until sitting up. Yes feed one at a time for a few days. I heard not to start with fruits first, but doesn’t really matter. She is gorgeous
I just came back to your channel. I can't get over how cute Sky is she is so smart how she grab her spoon. You will know if she will be a right handed or a lefty. My husband sworn. I make him a lefty. Katie your hair is so pretty. Also Avocado is bad for pets. Just thought I would mention. Love your Content❤
I’m so happy to see you getting the Avocados 🥑 an not run to the premade baby food!!😊 Crazy to think she’s 7months old, she’s growing up so Fast!! but you are 100% right, don’t go by other peoples guild lines an standards for when you should start doing things with your own child. When you feel she’s ready, you do it at your own pace!! :)
The longer you wait on solid food the better. Especially anything with wheat. Wait on grains until their grinder teeth (molars) are in. There's a reason baby's only get their cutting teeth 1st. This helps babies to not develop food allergies. God bless you guys.
My Mom used to put plastic down under our high chairs because of the mess or newspaper and then roll it up and throw it away 😂 the mess is a lot to clean every time especially at the food throwing and dropping phase 😂 but Topper is a handy vacuum cleaner you'll see 😂
Katie just to clarify. Delaying foods increases the risks of allergies. They changed it from 4 months to over six months and the rise in allergies was phenomenal, so they changed it back.

There’s nothing wrong with being too safe. Good thinking Josh! Skye is such a happy baby and enjoyed her food. Great video!

This was so cute!!! I love hearing that you guys held off on food too. We have a baby born 9/3 and haven’t done food yet because we felt the same way. This video was too cute!!!!!
Make sure you eat the foods you are giving her also as that exposes her to tiny amounts through the BM. It’s truly amazing stuff!
Yes❤
You are my favorite people! Y’all are so cute and Skye is a perfect mix of both of you!!!❤

It hasnt been the greatest of days 4 me but watching this i cant help but to smile. ❤️
Skye is soooo cute!❤❤ she’s growing sooo fast at the same time! Ahhhh
Tips for making baby food, get a soup blender to make the food into purées. I also add my breast milk so it helps break it down.
Also vegetables are recommended first instead of fruit so your baby doesn’t prefer sweet foods and not eat their veggies.
I love you guys so much! Baby Skye is the cutest baby I have ever seen!!!!
It still feels like I’m waiting for the birth video!! 😭😭 you guys are such a cute family ❤

Katie just to clarify. Delaying foods increases the risks of allergies. They changed it from 4 months to over six months and the rise in allergies was phenomenal, so they changed it back.
