    Step 1:Pick a side East...West...
    Step 2: Get 4 jobs.
    Step 3: Get a roommate.
Step 4: Too busy to enjoy NYC😂

For commute times, Queens can actually be a pretty quick commute into midtown manhattan. Sunnyside Queens is about 25 min to midtown manhattan and much cheaper!

Coffee & Cashmere is there anything like income support or any sort of local government/council benefit? there is no way this is affordable for most of the people worldwide. this is coming from a london resident, also one of the worlds most expensive cities

need to up your subway game.
4, 5 and 6 is super convenient. places it goes
      - South Ferry (Statue of Liberty / Staten Island)
      - Chinatown
      - St Mark's
      - Union Square
      - Grand Central Station
      - Yankee Stadium
Problem with the East Side is if you go too far east and you have to walk 10+ minutes to even get the 4, 5, 6.

Coffee & Cashmere I really want to move there someday! Such a exciting city to me! When you were talking about the costs of moving into a apartment in Manhattan, I was just shook! 😂 if I would pay almost 10k to just move into nyc, feel like I have to save much more money now. I also don't know anyone there either, which Is also holding me back from moving there. Need to split all those bills tho! Lol Thank you for being honest and not sugar coating the reality of living there. Love you videos! Can't wait for your next upload! 😄💖

    Okay so a couple things.
1.The garantor has to make 80X the rent!
    2. You can negotiate the broker's fee you do not have to say okay right away.
    3. You can also negotiate the RENT. So ask if u can give them 1900 instead of 2000.
    4. Trulia, Zillow, Street Easy, Nooklyn, realtor are also good sites to find apartments.

It was stressful to find an apartment when I first moved to LA after college in 2006 due to many former home owners needing to rent, adding to the competition. Ended up living with relatives until 2008 when finally some friends and I were able to get a 3 bedroom place. Then in 2011, moved into my own tiny place a little easier due to the economy being in the shitter. Now rents have gone back up, all over the world, so it will be interesting to see where the rent price threshold is for certain cities. LA is expensive as is most of California, but I honestly never wanted to live in NYC after already going to college near there and interning there. But I'm glad you're making it work.

And drink water...You can go to a 4 or 5 star restaurant, and spend less then $40 with out a drink...Just order an appetizer, and one side order...You don't have to order a big meal...

However, My friends and I are always complaining how expensive it is to live here. But, nothing compare to New York!!!! Geez!!! I am amazed!!! 😳 The amount of money you are paying for rent and utilities there will allow you to be able to buy a brand new house here in Toronto, pay for the utilities and property tax. Also, health care is provided by our Government. One less expense to worry about!.🇨🇦

Also, since then I've been fortunate enough to have lived in HI, San Francisco/Oakland, Austin, Seattle and now New Orleans. And I have to say that my quality of life has never been better. I'm not always working struggling just to pay my rent.

What field are you in? If you are in an in demand industry, it will be easier. Do all your networking and have your resume ready before you come. Save as much as you can. If you have a room mate it will be easier (and less expensive)... you can airbnb it for a short period of time while you are getting settled. But the major thing is to have $$$$ saved. All the best. p.s. When you go online to look at apartments in the aforementioned sites, look for no fee apartments...

So, if I heard this correctly, you only pay 1st months rent and not the 1st and last months rent when signing lease? But you will have a brokers fee, application fee, pet fee , and other BS if neccessary to my application? haha

Visited NYC over New Years holiday, and it was heaven. Totally my lifestyle, but I heard it can be quite expensive to live there. I live in California and feel it's expensive here as well. Pretty informative video nonetheless in terms of budgeting! ((:

How do you prove you make 40x the rent if you work in sales? I make about 70k with bonuses but my base salary is only 48k. My girlfriend would make another 30-40k. How do I prove that I can afford the 2k? Thanks

I am wondering if people get payed more in New York than in other areas of America/ world? Because I am from Belgium and I would earn with my diploma 2800 dollar a month Max. So I wonder how people with normal jobs can affort these prices? Just really curieus about how it works there.
