You should gather up all the rares, and iconic uncommons and commons into a video and just show how completely ridiculous this box was!!!! Definitely the best single box of Beta ever, maybe even best box ever! Always a pleasure.

I remember watching some of your videos around 2017/2018 and then stopping. At the start of 2019 I saw a random video from you pop up so watched it, just to find out it was a lotus episode! I was so hyped up, it was so cool to come back to such a grand reveal.

If someone’s watching this, they’re prob a older MTG player. I’m 30yrs old, had a Beta Chaos orb that was mint someone stole from me, does it hurt, of course. I sold my beta underground sea in 2019 too. But like I said, if we let this stuff bug us, all it’ll do is eat us alive*

dont feel bad. i had every pokemon card that i was saving for life, every holographic of first 150. probably most were some of the first packs made. i had every movie edition card and some first editions. my entire catalog was stolen back in like 2002 or 2003.

You made me look into my cards from my childhood haha. I didn’t realize how many rare cards I have. 2 1st addition Serra Angels, birds of paradise, Baron Singir, all of the elder dragons etc haha
I have personally sent at least 3 "power 9" cards into the trash. My friend and I each had a Time Walk and we agreed to destroy them since it was "too cheesy" - think of it this way, we were just increasing the value of the remaining ones. I also think I had Mox Emerald and Mox Pearl and I never really knew how to use it well in a deck so it just languished in a box somewhere and got thrown out when I moved a bunch as a teenager.
I remember that we always joked how does Frozen Shade not have flying? It's literally a painting of a wraith flying in the air.
Hard to imagine how this remained sealed until now give how limited supply was back then and the hype surrounding the game at the time.

To think thirty years ago some of these cards would be something we wouldn't jump out of our skin over. They were certainly more pleasing to look at and still makes us feel as though it was something special regardless of it's age or competitive value.

Did you make your money back on the box is the question. I mean Time Walk, Ancestral Recall, 2 Moxes and 2 duals were the big scores (besides that lotus) and with a 600k box that's not even half way. It would seem to me that you need at least 2 9 rated + lotuses to even get into even-breaking range.

How did he know that he was gauranteed a Mox Emerald after opening the Black Lotus? Were the rares in the Booster Box predefined already?
Are there any sealed Alpha or Beta boxes left known to exist? What an awesome journey this was.
alpha and beta boxes were never actually "sealed". So verifying that its an actual full box and not just boosters collected and put together over the years, can be difficult. You can find discussions across various forums back when the black lotus in this video was sold about this same exact question. If they were to exist, they would be held very closely and not be well known.
So what's the deal with every mox emerald having that dent? I'm guessing something to with where the print sheet is held in place during printing or cutting.

If Sol Ring had been rare, it would be the Power 10 instead of 9.
Rare AND not printed in revised and being on the reserved list. Otherwise it would be kind of like mana vault which was rare but reprinted many times. Obviously Sol ring is a better card, so it would have done slightly better than mana vault if it was made rare but still reprinted in revised and over the years. But the reserved list and no printing after ABU is key to power nine’s huge value.
