Working at roadside he makes ₹ 250 for changing horse shoes . Shot with I phone at Jodhpur , India . Ankush Gupta / Jodhpur/ India / 14 April 2017 #horse #blacksmith #livestock
@popcorns house/ Farrier, artisans of India/Dec. 8th, 2020: I couldn't discover a fire which is normally necessary for producing the new horseshoes. Perhaps they haven't got schools for farriers in India??!!
Given his circumstance he’s not the worst farrier ever like some people commented. I am a farrier in training in America and I have the “proper” tools and “proper” schooling for the job so to speak, and it’s still really difficult to go a good, SAFE job. This man does not have the greatest tools and probably no schooling but given that I don’t see any blood and the horse is not 3 legged lame I give him the benefit of the doubt. And most of the people commenting about how terrible he is probably can’t shoe nor trim a horse in the first place. Just because you own a horse and watch a farrier trim and shoe doesn’t mean you know how to do it. I dare you to try and see how fast you either collapse or harm your horse.
Austin Frieze I do like your view on this but I do have a question. When he put the shoe on did the nails get close to the white line or is that just how the nails go? I have barefoot horses and watching these videos are making me wonder where the nails are really supposed to go.
This guy is incredible. The way he has learned to use his tools is crazy. Give this man a book and some better tools and he would trim 50 horses a day for you and do an amazing job. Also this looks to be better conditions than wearing his feet off till they bleed. Because this horse is their car. These kind of views I'm seeing in the comments is why unions have to be formed and why America is turning into a big sissies when it comes to work
for all the negative comments .....let me tell you that 250 rupees is 3$......he is working way more than what he is paid for....he is doing it since 48 years as he said at the beginning of the video......thats the best you can get for 3$
To all those stupid commentators You can't even go nearer to this beautiful animal and have managed to comment what not. I wonder how did you all start using smart phones . Nevertheless I would say this is really a tough job and this poor man is working so hard to get the bread and butter,As far as *pain in the hoof or frog* is questioned let me tell you horse is mightier than any human being to kick and get his job done. The Horse wasn't feeling any pain and they enjoy having their dirt go off. SO GROW UP
Is there such a thing as steel nail pollution, I mean what happens to the old steel nails, do they get left on the road if so wouldn't other animals get hurt if they step on them.
Given he probably has no formal training and is using very basic tools this isn't the worst shoeing job I've seen. There are lots of farriers, educated with the best tools in other parts of the world doing substantially worse jobs.
toe left too long, shoe too small, horrible job. but the owners probably didn't care much about the horse seeing as the original shoe on the back left was worn in half
All cattle, animal foots are made up of keratin like our nail is made up of keratin, We have to cut it Like wise horse, Buffalo, Camel etc., Have to cut lighty and attach shoe made up off iron which give them enough protection and grip on roads, Animal staying in jungle need no shoe as they walk on soil, While Putting shoe on horse don't feel pain. If you scrap very deep then only they receive pain and blood.
Says here You have to trim that toes as a weakly routine Cuz the job isn't finished yet And the transverse action of hammer blows can harm their feet too
It's funny how Americans that have never seen a horse in their life know this is a crap job from YT but the dam farrier doesn't. Right tools my ass, it's your job, get the right tools. I've seen Indians with amazing tools and no they're not rich.

And out come all the farrier experts with their commentary.
