100% agree! I like how he detail the install and some obstacles you might run into during. It would even be better if he had more stuff to work with. Will someone please send this guy parts! Into the 9s bro. Thanks.
Papi I'm going awd k series turbo in my dc4 (daisy) 😉 btw . I'll let you drive her when she's done. Goal is still 8-900hp low 9s it high 8s at the 1/4 mile.
Mike has this same thing on the Pink Widow drag del sol, I think he actually has the 20 dollar one and he calls it "China Grip" not phantom grip and it seems to be serving them pretty well on their journey to hit the 10's. Another great video bro keep it up
Question, if you were to block off the FWD axels, cutting them off at the shaft and plugging the transmission with them, then welding the differential would you theoretically be able to go RWD?
Take yo time pablo it dont matter im in the patients of learning and watching you do all this new things and la fea is a bad asss build now you doing a crx pssh is step t a time.. is call patients. To perfection..
This is definitely the kind of stuff I like to see... couldn't you have machined the aluminum block down instead of the gears?? But it's pretty clear to me even grinding down the spiders like you did by no means is going to hurt anything.
Why didnt you just grind out the outer face of both phantom grip halves instead of grinding out the spider gears? Not enough material on the phantom grip?
Yea it would make much more sense to take equal material off of each phantom grip halves, those gears aren't cheap. You could have possibly even done it yourself since it is softer, aluminum.
Bad ass man! You sure know your stuff. This was awesome to watch, I'll definitely be referencing this over the winter when I ATTEMPT to go awd lol Cheers from CO
Hey just subbed , question, I got a 04 Civic coupe 1.7liter vtech sohc anyway wats my cheapest way for awd should I go the crv route or what do you recommend , also is there any way to awd a v6 j series vtech engine I'm thinking swap ??
If I want a pure RWD from my B series AWD trans five speed do I just weld the gears from the diff and block off the axel sections keeping gear oil from leaking? What other ways can I do this. Just looking on what I can do. Haven't really found an answer yet.
Hey bro was wondering would a crv 5 speed manual trans can be converted to an awd if I get the manual transfer case.. Wanna build one cus you really inspired me lol.
pete rath the crv 5speed is awd or do I wanna use the crv 5speed just for fwd which is the same as the LS I believe but has a spot for the transfer case for the awd but either way most people unhook the drive shaft to put it on a fed dyno if that’s all they have access to. So I’m not sure what u mean n is why maybe nobody has commented to this so let me know or if I told u what u wanted to know
im doing an awd set up and currently have a type r trans, you know if id be able to basically swap the diff and the outer ring and have it work the same way or specs might be different?
@@freddygeez4646 lol I know, I'm just having a laugh dude , Honda would also recommend not to shave the gears down lol Honda would also recommend not to put 700whp though there engine lol , but he does it , and it works .
Rated too 800 hp my ass. back in the early /mid 2000's when i frist got into mechanic industry now im in my early 30's . Those things couldn't hold no more then 350 some not even . Good fun but they weren't well made back then . But if you want a great cheap lsd melt some lead then pour it into the centre will not work on C cilp diffs also need to block off any holes use sand to fill were axels go into the centre if not the axels will not fit back into .here in Australia lots of burnouts cars back in day did this no welding needed
These things keep tension on the spider gears preventing them from spinning until you take a corner making the outer wheel travel greater than the inner wheel this is a lsd kit this doesn't lock the differential but temporarily holds the gears
...Sigh... You make my brain hurt. You seem to think a locking diff is the same as a limited slip diff. I think you need to take a minute and say the words VERY SLOWLY... LOCKING differential (Hmm, sounds like it locks) LIMITED SLIP differential (Huh, you know, I think this one might allow some slip). Pendejo.

Im glad you're doing this AWD series. Its answering alot of my questions and concerns. I'm wanting to go from straight H to H2B awd in my ej1.
How is the phantom grip performing now
Is it still in good condition?

LatinoAD yo can me and my boi Cool Vanilla G take her for a spin too???
The instructions say to grind down the bosses on the spider gears first.
i really like how you corrected yourself when you said 14mm bolt and then specify you meant the socket used
Thank you for acknowledging that you know bolts aren't referred to by their head size. That's a big pet peeve of mine.
your one of those people....

should of shaved the phantom grip to keep the diff to oem spec
LSx Fox I was just thinking that
No gasket there is an O-Ring directly after the output gear.
Nice to see ya again!
What I really want to know is how to build a crv up are the transfer cases strong enough do they make driveshafts and rear reinforced cv axles
great content bro and we ain't here to please everybody just keep doing what you do can't wait to see the all-wheel-drive done
What if you grinder the square lsd instead of the spider gears???

Subaru guy: 0
I'm curious, putting that block in the diff, those that give you wheel hop on turns like a welded diff?
Hellz yea. Ima doing h22a nitrous awd. Thank you for your knowledge
Awesome nice Pablo thanks for sharing mate 😜👍🇦🇺
The Phantom is ok as long as you are not doing constant circles like Drifting.
this is the only b series awd transmission disassembly on TH-cam I can find
honda street garage b series transmission. Search it and youll find a way better video
I LOVE THE VIDS VERY INFORMATIVE!🔥 I WANNA KNOW ARE YOU GONNA EXCEPT RON'S WAGER? ABOUT SHAVING YOUR HAIR IF YOU LOSE OR VICE VERSA

Oh will see about that!

That but for the lock ring should never have sealant on it you can crack the casing
From what I’ve heard is that the awd crv trans use H/F series gear sets maybe that’s why the phantom grip lsd didn’t fit?
Phantom slip ftw! Use an h series lsd. It needs machined to fit

On the subject on welding support on the shift fork, can you just use a b16 or b18 shift fork?
Can't wait too see that youtube challenge....
You should have way more subs. Wtf is wrong with people. Hit the sub
Thank you!!

by any chance, you know the measurements you cut on the gears? what phantom grip do you use?
Do you know if it’s possible to put a phantom lsd in the rear diff? Thanks
Brother esa transmisión sirve para mi d series quisiera hacerlo AWD
😮 that work on ys1 too ?
Hows the lsd holding up?
I hope the cv axles don't hit with the dif locker when you are trying to put them in
DJohn NineOneSix the axle spline doesnt go in that far, no worries.
Great content as always.
That's detailed & helpful. Thanks
nice. this is working like you have welded the dif?? or is working as an LSD? both wheels are always lock in any case?
Will this work on a 400 boosted b20?
Thanks for throwing this video out for us man, keep it up. It’s awesome content
My dude !! 😎💪💪 ..shit is gonna be EPIC !!!
Gearboxes scare me im a self thought mechanic and quite good but i wouldn't dare try this shit ha. Fair play mate👍
Come on - Can't be that good if this scares you.
So stoked for this i stopped watching boostedbois haha
Haha
Boostedbois for life 👌👌
Is this an auto trans or manual?
SP tuning needs a dyno soon? Send that bad boi!
How do I get in contact with this guy?
you need to shave down the gears to get a solid grip plus space
im doing an awd set up and currently have a type r trans, you know if id be able to basically swap the diff and the outer ring and have it work the same way or specs might be different?
No sir. Isn’t interchangeable
#gapron2019 ! Looking good man this is great! Send it papi!
Supraru that is awesome.
Why not shave the phantom grip?
Was thinking the same
Phantom grip company reccomends not to
@@SPTuning I'm sure Honda would also recommend not to shave the pinion gears also lol ,
Good video all the same.
You're supposed to shave down the spider gears

I need to know how long it’ll last that’s why I’ve been hesitant on buying it
I ran it for years on my turbo car before switching to m factory. No issues
What city do you reside in
so are you and young static going awd for Honda Challenge?
Yes
Hey Pablo , do you guys like vw buggies or sand rails ??
Was wondering if you guys might do a build off on a cheap buggie build because of that new Transformers movie.
If you can give me a reply . thanks
❤️
What car did you get that trans from? What year, make, modal ect.
More than likely a 00-04 crv with the manual b20.
96-01 crv
Awd stick shift model
@@SPTuning lol what car dummdumm
I said crv... 🤣
Where the b20?
Just weld it same difference..turning it into a spool

Negative bud, that s not the job of the Phantom.

Yes 2jz subi!. only way to own a subi get rid of the ej or boxers period. K swap or 2jz

No. With the Phantom you have Limited Slip as the springs in the Phantom allow.
Your still gonna get walked bro! #treepablo2019
But static is going smoke the both of you ! Lol . pick the tire you all want a hit from . because that's all your going to get 🚬
😳😳😳
That's not a real LSD. LSD changes wheel speed around corners. They should be called cheap option to welded diff.
