I am a huge “The Mentalist” fan, but I can’t figure why no one ever mentions another show that starred Simon, “The Guardian”. I thought it was really good, but no one speaks of it on videos like this one. If you haven’t seen it, and you like Simon Baker, you should watch “The Guardian”.
When I see these non-american interviews of Simon, I realize they give Simon time to express himself and this man does like to answer after a lot of thinking, these are not flippant answers. The American interviewers (looking at The View and other morning programs) keep interrupting him when he tries to answer. Even Letterman, I thought, was too condescending towards him. Easy to understand why he prefers Europeans over American.
He does get a good amount of time to express himself in non-American interviews. In America, a few interviewers(like Letterman)are condescending, but most interviewers drool over him and want him to talk about his sex symbol status or talk about it all the time themselves, which he really isn't interested in or comfortable with. There's a lot more to Simon than just his good looks, and most American interviewers and people do not realise that. He's not just a pretty airhead, but is actually very intelligent and mature. It's refreshing to see an interview where he's allowed to express himself and is comfortable.
There is something in this person which speaks to me - he seems natural, sincere to me. Thanks for this video which showed me yet another side of him. I can't distinguish the accents in English, since it's not my mother tongue - the presenter's accent sounds quite different from Baker's - but both are Australian, aren't they? Different dialects, or what?

That's celeb interviews generally in the US. I'm in the UK and I find most US interviews totally waste the time they have with these people.
