I grew up listening to pop music. In 1985 a friend introduced me to Skinny Puppy.
    Then shortly after FLA.
That was it, changed my life! No more pop garbage.
Thanks to all of you for so many years of awesome music! ❤

I love this cEvin, Lifelong fan from London, saw you in 87 at the Fulham Greyhound and that was it, also met Rhys in London with FLA, what a journey you've all had, I love this conversation

I haven’t kept up with FLA since the early 90s, but I’m catching up now. I was smitten by Gashed Senses and Crossfire, especially the song No Limit. I wrote them a letter around ‘89 when I was in 11th grade, asking if the would play live in LA and where they get their bass sounds. I was so glad to get a nice reply in the mail from Bill himself. A lot of bands were pretty good about writing their fans back in those days.

14:46 the humility that Rhys and Bill have about their process is so refreshing. Cev- you’re an excellent interviewer.

Both of these bands are for me not only a musical journey, but also a trip into the past, when everything was new and inspiring. It was difficult to meet people who shared such a taste for music on a daily basis, and there was no social media. But it was great. Crazy times. People got to know each other on fan pages and forums. 37:40 I remember downloading some of these pictures on a 26k modem back in the day. These were actually some of the very first files I have ever downloaded. For me back then the whole purpose of having an internet connection was to gather stuff about my favorite bands. Thanks for this upload, lots of nostalgia.

I finally caught up w this and really enjoyed. Nice of cEvin to share that mix tape Bill made. Love the part where someone asks what your favorite synths are. Things were slow going until that point. Then all 3 of you stumbled over each other talking at the same time lol! I've been wondering if it would do us any good to put you guys in touch w my father in order to start putting together band biographies. He is a collector and music historian. I would love to see it happen regardless of gets the job done. Bill Leeb still looks good at his age. Glad he's still going strong and not part of the major die off we've been seeing! You guys hang in there. Music for survival!

    Love the 80s photos.
Reminds me of my social group in New Orleans back then.
Its funny the girls clothes and hair dont look so much now. But back then it was the new wave look. I think they were imitating Gillian from New Order or the girls in Human League plus a little Exene/Siouxsie.
But yeah a lot of cigarettes and hairspray.
And cautiously creeping through neighborhoods feeling very conspicuous.
As far as studio stuff I got around to getting my setup as 24x24 and can go to 34 inputs in a pinch. I hate unplugging synths.

I'd love to hear a chat with Jim Cummins/I, Braineater
I didn't realize the Puppy history went so far back until I saw the Independent Daze gig poster circa. 1985
Hiwatt chat would be rad too!
Wanna hear his puppy origin story too!
I had the pleasure of meeting both these guys over the years, but there is so much story to be fleshed out I'm sure!
Thanks for another AMAZING chat! 😀

Checked out the newer FLA album and Glass and Leather is a true banger and the lyrics are really something else. Love it. Brap on 🤘

5:30 not being on the re-booked tour tells me Ministry’s management was worried like everyone was going back to the 90’s - they’re afraid FLA was going to blow Ministry out of the water.

So the reason why you can't find the "drum processor" preset in the H3000 plugin seems to be that it is based on the "swept reverb" algorithm which is not available in the plugin. The hardware unit seems to have many more algorithms than the VST. ☹️

What glorious times. I remember in 2000... and something when in the summer I went from Portugal to London on purpose to see the FLA at La Scala (Artificial Soldier) and the next day due to drunkenness I missed the plane with that trip already paid for in which I had to pay a lot of money to be able to return home that same day to go to work the next day.
    Tempos do caralho.

Bill and cEvin, guys. Tim is a swede, and his last name is Sköld, which means like an "shield ( of armor)", and for you guys to pronounce it, try using a "err.." (like you were thinking quick) sound for the Ö -part. Or first part of the word "were" is kind of sounding the same too. Just in case you were wondering. 😊
Love you guys, and I hope to see you all here soon. Best regards /Johan.

9:15 this right here. FLA adapts and THRIVES. This is their secret. They’re like software. The kernel and base code remains the same but they patch it every couple years because they are fans of current music.
Unfortunately 242 and Nitzer Ebb couldn’t adapt. They’re still among my faves but they didn’t adapt.
