- Sean O'Brien's speech at the RNC raised eyebrows among the Teamsters-but his pro-labor message also wasn't taken kindly by many Republicans. Was Sean O'Brien getting played, or was he the one playing the GOP? Robert Conklin, a third-generation Teamster and member of Teamsters Local 665 in San Francisco, shares his thoughts. I’m a registered independent and have voted blue for several years and glad to see O’Brien clean house at the RNC! The look on their faces said it all 🎉
Lol u know that over half of those people are maga and are working class right?
Rick solid commentary. The Teamsters VP was recently here and blew up his own narrative; first he said that Sean O'Brien was wrong to speak and then said that the President's job is to get the word out!
That VP is a traitor to the Union, vote him out!
This is why I voted for Obrien, he's not afraid of listening to both sides. He knows that a lot of his members have stepped away from the democratic party. Myself included

@@jimako6Christian Nationals have been planning this for years 🤬
What he said is on point with what I have heard from most Teamsters.
Let them have what they want and watch them getting disappointed, exploited and angry....
Why don't people spend a few minutes to read what the Republicans want to do to them(not for them,to them.)
He did Great! Those people hadn't ever heard what he was telling them. Plus they loved him!
Kamala should be vetting Sean O'Brien for VP. 💙

I’m 75. My grandmother, who was born in the 1890’s once said, “unless you sign your own paycheck you got no right to vote Republican”. Too bad Sean O’Brien ain’t as smart as my Grandma.
This isn't your Grandmother's Democrat Party.
@@debbiehannah8510 actually, it is! She would've loved it.
@@judithmccrea2601 lol yeah... okay
@@debbiehannah8510 oh. I guess you knew her, then. My bad. You know everything, so get up on your little red dot.

@judithmccrea2601 I'm pretty wise, yes. I also never said I know everything. I also come from a once very proud democrate family. My father would be rolling in his grave over the policies that they are trying to push .
Instead of typing out a long list of things, I responded with okay. So sorry that triggered you. 🤷
There's no comparison between the two Dem and Republican candidates! Biden nor Kamala has not showed support for anti labor laws or legislation to hinder bargained contracts! Kamala and Biden have fought for the interest of working class people, period! Republicans fight for the right to exploit and use people that work everyday! Plus the infrastructure bill will help all labor especially unions!
I think you're right that they are much much better. But the entire Democratic party is beholden to corporate donors. It's not as obvious of course and they're not downright abusive like the other party. I think that ever since Citizens United declared that money is simply speech, the corporations get more speech.
Materialist conditions suggest they’re the same overall.
One party took away womens rights, the other didn't. One supports "right to work," the other doesn't. One wants to cut S.S and medicare, the other wants to expand it. One want to give the rich even more tax breaks, the other wants the rich to pay their fair share. One thinks it just hot, the other passed a climate bill. One promised an infrastructure bill, the other got it done. One wants to end democracy, the other doesn't.
No similarities at all.
Stop project 2025!!
Man I can't agree with you hard enough! Truth needs no proof, either it is or it isn't!!!!
Wow, I love what you're saying! And I think both parties are saying that they support the working poor, but they are really in the pockets of corporate donors and support them. Thanks to that speech, the ball is firmly in the Democratic court. I hope to God they hit it back hard if they want to win.
As always: "Whether it's reactionary Republicans of the far-Right, or neoliberal Wall St. Democrats of the near-Right, they're both going to the same destination.
All that's truly being debated are optics & velocity."
I thought it was a great speech. The real question is why aren't the Democrats demanding labor leadership also speak at their convention??? Seems to me Dems are more interested in the donor class than the working class!
Neither party has done much for unions.
@@l.j.r.8448Except for standing on the picket line with autoworkers, while the other one held a paid rally in a non-union shop.
@@pieroguglielmi2253 you forgot the part about breaking the rail workers strike.
A Labor party would find it difficult to avoid leftist policies and far left people from strongly influencing them. Most of the Labor party's views would likely be very similar to liberals.
Liberal and far left aren’t the same.
You’re conflating the left with liberals. Liberals are not the left, doesn’t matter what CNN & Fox News will tell you.
Reason leftest policies apply to labor and labor unions is because THATS THE BASE OF THE FOUNDATION, leftest policies are labor foundation policies. It’s literally the working class taking over from the ruling class.
At least get a base understanding of a subject before you spin in a circle of discourse
the whole point of a labor party is leftist policies, dolt
THANK YOU for reporting this. Listen, there needs to be working class unity more than partisan unity. Most of the Dems have become the wealthy white collar managers, who support war criminals. Just like their Republican colleagues.
We need to understand why people with old fashioned religious values who are hard working might be interested in voting for someone like Trump, who is being more friendly towards unions, and who they believe God just saved from an attempt on his life.
I’m not saying you need to agree with them or vote the way they do. I’m saying you need to understand them correctly, respect them, and have a conversation with them about where you can meet in the middle. Because these are ultimately the people, regardless of political party, who are going to be in the same boat with us when we all start being suppressed for speaking up against further harms done to the working class in the coming years. This is not going to go well if we can’t unite on our common interests instead of trying to slander union workers who vote differently from us.
Trump 2024🎉 🇺🇸
Another clown for Project 2025? Have you read it? Does it bother you that Donnie claims to know nothing about it?
Trump is anti-organized labour. Think about it.
Prison awaits it
