I think Javier Bardem would've done a pretty damm good job too. The only problem is the accent which can be worked on. I mean, Bardem is one hell of an actor when it comes to playing villians and he even kinda looks like JDM.

Without rick having leadership, the people wouldn't last long in communities, mainly alexandria because that's the only community he did take over, he taught them how to fight, the people were weak, ricks buddies including himself know the supplies to get and can keep alexandria staying strong, rick saved their lives
