- In 2002 JustPlanes spent a lovely week in Mozambique filming LAM, 4 types of aircraft : Boeing 767-200 from Maputo to Lisbon, 9 flights in the cockpit of the Boeing 737-200 between Maputo, Beira, Pemba, Nampula, the and Quelimane ; 3 flights on the Embraer 120 from Maputo to Dar Es Salaam via Pemba and 3 flights on the Jetstream 41 from Maputo to Johannesburg via Beira and Vilanculos.
The resulting 3 hour cockpit film is a nice inside to the airline and also allows us to discover Mozambique from the air and on the ground.

For the people affirming it almost ran out of runway: it's mostly a visual illusion, caused by the camera lens that compresses the field of view. If you notice the landing zone markings, there was still 1/3 of the runway left

Wouldn't you be if you were being filmed for the whole world to watch? The airline industry is very thorough and professional though, lots of things are never rushed, or skipped. But I would still guess most air crew would be on their absolute best behavior in this situation.
I always appreciate a solid professional approach and disposition regardless of who is or is not watching. Air Florida Flight 90 ends in Potomac River 1982. Cockpit recording shows pilot in horrendous unprofessional conduct

wow! the LURIO (C9-BAI) at the end of the video! great memories with it, will never forget that as a kid the pilots let me sit in the cockpit with them and land in Pemba airport around 2002 :D
I flew with them in 2007 from Maputo to Tete. Very fine.
Wow look at those antique steam gauges. No EHSI, no EICAS, and no CDU/FMC to plug in the flight plan. Old fashioned dead reckoning airmanship at its most rudimentary, and most challenging. Hats off to the Mozambican pilots who fly this ancient relic through Africa's monster rain storms.

@@airbusdriver7114 I meant that pilots nowadays hand fly for less than 2 min because of almost total automation in planes, soon only one pilot will be needed...I prefer the Classic airplanes which required pilots attention all the time.

Agreed! Now so-called 'Trainers' have full fadec, glass cockpit, anti-spin, anti-stall, anti-dum, and a parachute, Six months in the schoolroom and six minutes in the so-called 'air-craft' and a noo so-called 'pilot' is hatched. One with not a single clue how to fly a 737-200 even though thousands of REAL PILOTS did, and pretty much all of them enjoyed the plane.

Well this video was filmed in 2002. This plane was retired from service with LAM Mozambique a long time ago.
