You don't need to give us excuses, Gly. I'm sure we're all very thankful for the minimum work you do for us. As for the maximum work you do for us, we're forever in debt to you
Please Stand By yep, I remember those and us kids were the remote control. "Snattle-rakes" 😅 I do that with some words, too "Flutter-bys" Love hearing the history of these places. Looking forward (as always) to the rest.
It's just good to hear your voice, get a look at Old Bob, and experience some beautiful drone shots. You got me excited about the coming adventures, But the real reason I watch is all that good-natured mucking about you include me in. 😁
Good to see you today Gly. Awesome BLUE wow 😮 👍🏻. Neat mining site and the blue amazing ! Yea that crumbly stuff is unnerving with the widow makers . And the Snattle Rake 😂 😂 Be safe out there ! See you next weekend ! Can’t wait for more BLUE ! 👍🏻
These surface exploration episodes are great especially because of all the extra drone recon footage, and when you're hiking around with minimal edits I feel like I'm there with you. Those blue/green rocks and sparkles of galena make me wish I could zoom in for an extreme closeup.
Love all your content, regardless of you getting underground into the depths or not. Every episode is a journey into an important part of our Western history!!
**THERE, I JUST REALIZED I HADN'T SUBSCRIBED YET** The Perfect Host, Professional, Does not waste words, Educated, Very enjoyable to listen too.....Thank You
There's a lot of mines in this area. Some very hidden mines and some privately owned mines. A friend of mine has a large private mine north of Parker. One day Id like to take him up on his offer to show off some of it. Thank you for the video!!
I really appreciate you taking us along on this historical tour. It's not often we get to see where it all began and the stages they went through working the deposits. It really puts it into perspective this way. Great video Gly. Can't wait to see the next episode!
The Porphyry copper deposits in eastern and southern AZ makes these look tiny, take hwy 191 thru mornci-clifton for example...it a bit surprising these weren't converted to open pit mines after the technology improved for extracting low grade ores (IE the surrounding materials)... You may getting more people since its spring break season
Gly awesome video Gly nice to see another part of Arizona, be safe my friend. Keep me in your prayers and thoughts I have to have heart surgery my aorta is swollen and can blow out at any time I have had my preparation done just waiting out them.
That area used to be a practice gunnery range during WW2. The target revetments were covered with black gravel. *Which turned out to be .50BMG bullets. which were weathered. There was a really nice incline that went for about 100' and at the bottom had a vertical shaft with collar, handrail and a ladder at the bottom. If I remember right the incline faced west.
I believe that Swansea, Arizona was named after Swansea, South Wales (UK), due to it's connection with Welsh miners and also to the shipment of copper ore to Swansea, South Wales for smelting. Swansea, South Wales dominated copper production in its heyday, resulting in its alternative name of Copperopolis.
That flatland behind the hill that you're viewing, is that where the "town" was located? Neat geology all around in this ancient lava flow area. Now all the Basalt is broken and cracked up from weather: wind/rain events. I like your motto of barbed wire, "the "velvet rope" to adventure". Put that on one of your T-shirts, I'll buy that from your store. Super interesting geological area and I got to see it from your drone work. Thanks for today's explore.
Great video again Gly. A thought came to me earlier while listening to your intro. Mines in regions you don’t explore, for example Idaho City, you could do an audio type book on the history of the area. You have an excellent story telling voice. I used Idaho City as an example because I have explored some of that in the past and dredged a little with my Dad up there. Keep up the great work 😎.
I believe the oldest copper mine was one on the Gila River, roughly halfway between Albuquerque NM and Tucson AZ, operated by the Spanish in the late 1500's. This according to a history book "After Lewis & Clark" by Robert Utley.
Australia Watching . Morning Gly and Subscriber friends around the world .Never miss an episode love see you do you awesome stuff . Nice to see Subscriptions have moved up from 173 k to 174 k lets keep it going and have a member's party at 200k . Thanks friend Gly anther nice watch . God Bless and spread you passion of life .
This is a good one nice job. Back to the geology, Tuff, or pillow basalt or just basalt? Back aches cure at Foxes in Parker on the river, won't fix the back but you will feel better thank you stay safe ALL!
You should get a tethered treaded drone that would fit through bat bars and go into mines deeper and see around corners. God forbid something bad happens, you have the tether that you have strengthened with paracord or something and pull it back home.
The opening of a USPO in the West was a big deal to these towns, and was one of the first things the people who established them wanted. It was a way to get federal recognition. You can date a towns existence by the opening and closing of a post office.
some of the reason for all the utv traffic is since the az peace trail has open the gate at planet ranch is now unlocked giving traffic through and to parker to havasu
Gly, have you ever considered going overseas to do some recon into how some of the ancient civilizations, like the Roman Empire, Egyptians, Aztecs, Mayans, Incans, Babylonians, etc..mined their Gold and other precious metals? 🤔
“Gly”: I would absolutely love to do something like that but I’m going to need to get to 1 million subscribers first. Adventures like that are pretty expensive.
Hi Gly, Is there something wrong with the drone camera? as it seems to be having trouble focusing on most objects. it looks like the resolution is in analogue at times, really blurry alot of the time. Just wondering as I have a Mini3 pro which shoots 4K at 30 frames a sec if I need it. I'm also wondering whether it's my old Dell laptop or the feed I'm getting off TH-cam thats the problem!
hello gly!!! i appreciate you!!! the black rock in the area is that lava? it looks so old. could you pick off the ground outside the mines some of the rocks to sale? thank you for all you do
“Gly”: Much of the rock you are seeing is limestone with desert varnish but there are layers of basalt originating from old volcanoes further to the south of this area. I’m on the hunt for polished birds egg Chrysocolla that I can offer on my eBay site in the future.
Gly, I was looking at Planet on Google Earth. It looks like near where the town or mill was there are at least 3 modern homes. Did you see them, and are they currently occupied?
Awesome drone work, save those steps for underground. The trees in the distance, river bed or plantation? Remember, opinions are like a**h****, everyone has one and most of them stink. "What a waste of posts and fence" - unless you are getting paid by the number of entrances you bar (?!)
You don't need to give us excuses, Gly. I'm sure we're all very thankful for the minimum work you do for us. As for the maximum work you do for us, we're forever in debt to you
Well said Amen
I'm always amazed, intrigued , and thankful for what "Mr Coolness" has in store for us every Saturday morning.

Yaaay another great start to my Saturday, thanks to you Gly😁
It's just good to hear your voice, get a look at Old Bob, and experience some beautiful drone shots. You got me excited about the coming adventures, But the real reason I watch is all that good-natured mucking about you include me in. 😁
You could call your mini drone "little Bob".

Thanks Gly for all the days of work it takes to make 1 episode for us to enjoy!

Love the intro and drone footage, loads of information. That was Great Gly. Ground coverage now. Love that snattle rakes. Funny, a make shift pillar.
That old "Stay Out! Stay Alive" sign would be cool as a poster.
Love the drone flyovers and history intro before the exploring starts....Bravo!

Nice explore, Gly
All that black rock looked more like you were exploring the side of a volcano rather than an abandoned mine
glued to it gly ,, see ya next weekend , be safe buddy

I'm glad that it was diagnosed in time. Praying for your convelesance.

I really like the history of the mines cool video gly
“Gly”: Thanks!
Thanks for the video!
You sound name your drone, Doug. Nothing more than to have Bob & Doug as in the McKenzie brothers that get in zany adventures.
I second this!
Thanks for the video. That looks like a very rough place to be a miner.
cool video I just visited Planet Ranch last weekend. Been there many times but never explored like you have.
🇨🇦 Nice job Gly. Really 😎.
“Gly”: Thank you!
Very interesting mate. Must admit the rock in that area does look to be very unstable?👍
It is completely insane how green parts of this state are right now.

“Gly”: When the day comes where I can’t climb up and down these hills anymore that’s something I will do.
I would think that the only reason they would bother with a gate is because there is a big mine to explore just past it.
Greetings from the BIG SKY

15:41 Mr Camera was being a Q-Tip for Sure👂👁🙈
@22:05 well, could be based on what public land utilizers were doing there.
Gly, when you got hung up by the fence I thought "OMG...Gly's going to make himself infertile"! You freed yourself though so all is well! 😉
“Gly”: Best not to split the boys on the barbed wire fence, that’ll ruin one’s day. 😬

See You Topside!
Those were volcanic uplifts.... Where the Viens were formed...
Hey Gly skip a cheese burger or two you could get through those bat bars lol !!😅
Losing weight isn't that easy.. hes getting plenty of exercise exploring mines though

Abandoned, yes. Forgotten, no more.
Antler mine has the blue fuzzy crystal that is impossible to move.
Need a Scott pack just to get near it.
Sulfides gas heavy
Great vid as always, have you used a Gopro 12 black,if so what do you think.
Here in Texas we call those mud wasps dirt dobbers.😂
some of the reason for all the utv traffic is since the az peace trail has open the gate at planet ranch is now unlocked giving traffic through and to parker to havasu
“Gly”: Ahhh… that would definitely explain it then.
I would like to join you on your mine exploration with you I enjoy watching your TH-cam videos a lot I'm into that kind of stuff
Gly i'd just like to say, most of my family are from Glasgow, So we already know copper wire was invented by two Scotts men fighting over a penny.
Gly, have you ever considered going overseas to do some recon into how some of the ancient civilizations, like the Roman Empire, Egyptians, Aztecs, Mayans, Incans, Babylonians, etc..mined their Gold and other precious metals? 🤔

This looks like a pretty remote area…. What was the closest town?

Wouldn’t it be funny if the “lost Dutchman’s mine” was actually a copper mine?
I think that’s funny.
Be even funnier if gly found it by accident
The geology looks volcanic or metamorphic.
What an extragrant mine😊
Gly do you have a mr bill hanging inside of ol bob?
Better get to it before it’s 112 along the river
hello gly!!! i appreciate you!!! the black rock in the area is that lava? it looks so old. could you pick off the ground outside the mines some of the rocks to sale? thank you for all you do

“Gly”: That is the Bill Williams River off in the distance.
Hi Gly have you ever invited one of your TH-cam watchers to join you on your mine exploration with you
“Gly”: I did! And now she’s my exploring partner. Her name is Laura.
where's the fireworks Gly!
“Gly”: 🚀💥
Opinions are like *feet* or *armpits*we all got em ...
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
When is Laura making an appearance ?
“Gly”: In April. 👍
@@AbandonedandForgottenPlacesA friend of mine has a mine north of Parker. It's private. I'm sure he would let you explore it.
Love a little Tijuana Brass
where is your partner in crime haven't seen her for awhile......
What are you wearing?
Battery sawzaw takes care of bat gates with ease.
I do not watch when you post a shill video. You have a patreon and membership thing. That's enough. Shill over there
