    Can you explain to me how to write a balanced half equation, for: Hydroxide ions, turning into oxygen and water molecules?
    I know it is OH- --> O2 + H2O, but the normal rules don't apply for balancing such as doing the Hydrogen first.

      Hey Mariana, so for balancing equations you don't change any charges, remember that charges are exponents with either a positive or negative charge. You also won't change the subscript which is the little number on the bottom. I recommend reviewing naming compounds this seems to be where you need some help in. I have two videos on it.     when you have hydroxide in the reactant side and water in the product side, can you balance the hydroxide and water without changing water to HOH?

      Yes you can, it takes a little bit longer but it's just another way to balance it.

      Everything has to balance out so there is typically the same polyatomic ion on each side. Was there a specific example you were thinking of?
