Pam here…..use the green for you island. Then find a burnished copper paint for the hood and for your knobs. There are great spray paints in the metal finishes that look hammered finish.
I agree with Pam. Green for the island and copper for the hood. Also, I have always admired your pear picture. I think I remember you saying you painted it. Love it!
Jess. Colors that you love and feel good about out is the way you should go. You’re so vibrant that your home is going to reflect that in your choices. And if you go with all the colors the worse thing that is going to happen is you’ll paint over the one that doesn’t feel right like the current island color. It’s paint and relatively easy to change. I bet your younger boys would enjoy tackling it with you and if they do please film at least some of it. Your boys bring joy to my heart.
well since you asked... I would 1000% go with your favourite green - you've lived with it in your old kitchen and already know you love it! the island will be beautiful ❤
Yes, agreed, you will feel joy every day you see the green stovetop hood, and it will make the pear 🍐 painting pop❤❤ I wish I was closer I would love to help organize the pantry! I just redid mine and did my quartly inventory ❤😊TTFN Marianne 🌻
I'm so happy for you staying in your current home. It's just smart. And it's beautiful and becoming even more so. When y'all announced that you weren't building the other house, I'll bet every older person in your audience said, "thank God!" 😊
With the colors you’ve been painting your walls, I would paint the island and the range hood blue. Then you can add the green in with artwork, curtains, plants and accessories. That way you get all the colors but the cabinets will be cohesive to the eye. Thank you for the chatting video as I stand in my kitchen prepping some food for this week! ❤
I feel that you are yearning to bring your garden inside. A beautiful garden is NEVER just a basic grey. You have a very artistic eye. So just do your thing!
I see copper for your overhead! It will tie everything together with the tones of your wood of your island counter top and the vibrance of the green. Pam's Idea below me is fantastic. the hammered finish is calling for it.
Hi Jess, maybe with it being above the stove have you sweet hubbies take it down and use a high heat paint for like engines???? It will only be a few shades to choose but will last a long time. ❤❤❤❤
i just subscribed to the cooking channel. I could have sworn I subscribed to it when you started it, but realized that I wasn't getting it in my feed, so I will be watching the old videos to catch up.
4:04 oooo the greeeeen would look so lovely!!! Your right the brick is very pick and when your face is in front of it, it almost blends in. I like the blue too but it would be another dark element.
I know this isn't your cooking show, but wanted to tell you AND Miah that I have been doing Basil tea all summer. I love it. Just wish I had the basil in the winter. I have tried growing it in the house but it doesn't do well for me. Anyway I'll need to wait for summer but I really like bail and the tea was just my thing. Thanks for sharing that recipe. 🤩
Blue is my favorite color so I have to ”vote” for that 😌💙 and you should totally repaint the kitchen island in green instead! I love color, it makes me happy! Who wouldn’t want a lot of color in their home?! 😊
This may sound out-there but have you thought about covering your range hood with copper panels cut to fit? It will patina beautifully with the potential green island color you like so much (maybe a bit darker or more saturated than the green the copper will come to be?) and give you a great excuse(as if you really need one) to paint that island the color you really want to. Even before it patinas it’s such a warm homey feel. I know your sweet hubs has a lot on his plate so maybe leave it until the last kitchen project. You could get copper plated drawer pulls for the cabinetry, if you haven’t gotten hand pulls yet, to pull in the hood color and they’d look pretty on the green color of the island too. Or you can just treat the copper not to tarnish, it looks so pretty on both green and on white. It’ll also go with my favorite pear that painting I covet on your wall every video!💗
I vote blue on the hood and green on the island. I think it'll be nice for you to look at, and quite frankly, you've got to look at it. Those colors are calming and nurturing, which will be good for your mind. Love your content. Sending blessings.
Love the new more relaxed vibe Jess. At 62, I am totally in agreement with your decision to stay and love the home you are in. If green is your favorite color and it brings your soul joy then paint things green!!! Paint is not a permanent decision! We change as people so you can change your paint also as you grow as a person. I'd love to see those shelves by your kitchen... they are beautiful. You are so fortunate Miah can build anything and do it perfectly. Such an asset. You two make a good team. 💞
You asked for opinions so…. In my opinion, since you like variety of color, I’d do the hood in the rust color. Green, brown and rust would make a great kitchen combo!
Just wanted to say, “thank you for being you”😊I’m trying to put my mind on things that are lovely, helpful, hopeful and not on the political news cycle. Thank you for your authentic, genuine videos and your laugh!
11:50 I know, I'm a little off topic here, but, I let my carrots go to seed too. The blossoms totally dried out before I picked them. When I shook the flower heads off into a paper bag I ended up with large flat seeds. Not the tiny round seeds that I expected based on what my purchased seeds looked like. Should I plant my saved seeds or purchase new seeds like always have?
I believe you should paint your hood a color that will excite you to be at your cooktop and one that warms your heart when you approach it in the morning as you begin your day! Keep in mind that paint colors can change on a whim if you so desire. So, don't let indecision be the thing that keeps you from moving forward. I've been with y'all for a long time now and I know that regardless of what color you choose, it will be one that reflects your "crisp," upbeat, positive and reflective process and personality, which are just some of the many attributes which define you and contribute to your success. So paint that hood girl! ❤
suggest going for pops of orange... goes really well with green and brown.. Orange on the kitchen doors?😅 I painted mine with an orange paint to cover up cheap doors temporarily then stencilled with a grey blue to tune them down a bit ..
When I saw the thumbnail, before watching any of the video, I said to myself, "Aw, she's painting the hood. I liked how it looked before but of those two colors she's swatched on it, I prefer the blue. However, I wish she was painting it the green she used for the cabinets in Arkansas." I loved that green so much and have missed seeing it in your kitchen. It's just so "you" in my mind. (I live in an apartment and can't paint anything, though I long for color, too. So I love when the channels I watch happen to decorate in ways I personally like, as it sort of allows me to "visit" my dream. Not that I expect anyone to cater to my taste, of course. It's just extra nice when their tastes just happen to be similar to my own.
I get it. My walls are all neutral in my one bedroom apartment and the kitchen cabinets are brown. I would really love to paint my kitchen cabinets White. It would really brighten the place up.
@BearWithMe-Jillian I put peel and stick wallpaper on my cabinet doors. It's got the outside frame and a little recessed center, and so now it's got delightful night sky constillations with the dark oak color!
Green is also my favorite color. I once painted my living room a color called sage green and I loved it. I also got sooo many compliments on it which I was really surprised about bc initially I wasn't 100%. It took a few days and I really was in love with it. It's like u said I felt at home. I find neutrals work well with colors. Don't be afraid to try things for a few days n then if u don't like it change it. Ur allowed to change your mind.
Oh man! I am the worst to ask for paint color advice. What I can tell you is the color used on the wall the pear painting is on, really makes it stand out. Looks great!
You inspire me Jess. I grew up in Houston and back in 2018 I started watching your channel. I’ve had a few health issues but at almost 75, I am thankful each day the Lord allows me to wake up. Each day is a gift from His hands. You have taught me many things about gardening, especially tomatoes. I don’t have a big space, but my four tomato plants I have in fifteen gallon buckets still are producing tomatoes. When the heat just got so bad, of course they slowed down flowering. I enjoy seeing young people do things so much better than most of my generation, especially if they live in the city. I really enjoy seeing y’all raise your kiddos right and teach them about the Lord and how to be more self sustainable. Your kitchen is beautiful and I know that after you finishing painting your new colors in your kitchen it will make you happy as you cook something scrumptious for your family. God bless you and yours.❤️✝️🙏🇺🇸
What size shed/building is your pantry? Our house lacks storage space of any kind (ESPECIALLY food storage). I thought I was crazy for wanting to build a shed for this purpose, until I saw yall did it😄. Was good to see I'm not the only one who thought to do this😁.
Green is my favorite color. My last house was teal with white trim & inside our hallway and into the bedroom was a pretty light mint green color. I loved it! Our new house is going to need some repainting eventually!
❤I’m sipping on a up of tea that I made with herbs I grew his summer. Your ginger is fabulous! I need to harvest mine tomorrow while filling more tea bags. 😊
You do what makes you feel good in your space. I think the blue you chose for the hood would look great on the hood and the island. In doing that your pear painting will pop.
Love the green. It is as if you are bringing the outdoors in. The one sample color on the range hood reminds me of a clay pot, which with the green would look great.
I thought the color you were showing on the range hood was a copper and I thought that would look really nice. Maybe paint the island green like the cabinets or even a different shade of green seeing that it's your favorite color. I'm glad you all decided to stay put. Blessings.
If you live green, I would put tractor paint on the vent, because you cook a lot, and make a lot of broth, and the humidity involved in cooking and canning. And, as a mom, like me, you have a lot of stuff. As an artist, you know that lighter colors reflect light, and make spaces appear bigger. Maybe light to medium shades, when you're considering colors?
Love the navy for the vent hood and the sage on the kitchen walls with the white cabinets. My thoughts on the plant green is it will clash with the green on the walls. I love the idea of doing the navy in the island, too. What knobs and pulls are you using?
Thank you Jess. Whenever I paint I look at what details I like and want to stand out. Then I choose what colors to use. I painted my kitchen with 2 rusty orange walls 2 green walls a sky blue ceiling in 1 section and yellow in the other. Still my favorite house painting I've ever done. Always sunny always blue sky. Take care Jess I bless you.
Jess, great video. Beautiful flowers. I will offer my suggestions to the mix - Paint your island the plant green - if it makes you happy go for it! It will be nice. But, I would use the current green of the island to paint the lowers on the sink wall. The uppers I would paint the same color as the other uppers. And the sink wall I would paint the same yellow (butter yellow) as the other wall. For the range hood, I would do neither color - rather, I would pull that decorative piece off and replace it with a large barn beam (distress one from the shop), and paint the top half of the hood black - this will ground the room and add some warmth. I smiled at the incentive....whatever works. It is too bad you couldn't move your pantry by the house and join to the main house with a walk way between - maybe a bedroom between with hall (for plants and seed starting). Great video!
The brown is fine for the island. The blue is nice for the range hood. It's a blue that tends toward neutral so it wouldn't be too much with the dark green if you do that to the island. If you leave the island the blue adds subtle color. That blue is in your runner rug.
I love the brick/copper color for the range hood, and that would go with the green as well. I think a lighter color on the range hood opens up the space and ties in the colors of the butcher block counters
If you do the green on the island then you should put the green also put it on your stove cover. It will blend with the one wall that is also green. I also love green. Good luck.
Fun video!!! As far as your color choices for the kitchen, you appear to have decided based on what you talked about in the video👍 So go for it!!! Fun vibrant colors are always great! I don’t think you’ll get sick of them❤
Hello Jesse. How are you doing? So thankful for your soup recipe. I am so grateful to see your videos. You are a real life farm that gives me inspirations, recipes, things to ponder, knowledge to apply and honesty to know when I am doing what is right or not. So refreshing to be "REAL"
You could look for a darker green that leans brown. It would coordinate with your bolder green. One on the hood, the other on the island? Is there any green in your backsplash?
I think you should do what makes your heart happy. The only suggestion I have is flow you colors through out so that it has some cohesion. Green is a great color and so is navy. I think you should use both😊
The colours in the carpet runner already look nice in that space, I like your choices. The range hood red does lean pink I'd pivot and go for a more terracotta tone and use the navy on the island. Your kitchen is lovely as it is, how it was and it will definitely take on a warm family feeling. Go with your gut. CONGRATS on 1 year with farmers table. I remember your first video, how has it been a year already!? 😅🎉🎉
I think the green on the island would be absolutely lovely! I'm not sure about a blue range hood - I guess I'm partial to the brick red or the greyish brown on that. But really - that wonderful color in your kitchen also makes it a happier place to be!
Manufactured is the word babe. I'm looking into that too. I personally think terracotta would look nice but going with the choices you said, I'd go with the pear.
Pam here…..use the green for you island. Then find a burnished copper paint for the hood and for your knobs. There are great spray paints in the metal finishes that look hammered finish.
Oooh yes this idea exactly ...🎉❤ Soo gorgeous 🤩
YES!!
I agree with you Pam. That copper would be exquisite and the green would brighten my day every time I saw it.
I like this idea!
The blue for the range hood.
My advise is this... do what makes you happy. The green on the island and ventahood would be beautiful, vibrant and be so you!❤
I feel that you are yearning to bring your garden inside. A beautiful garden is NEVER just a basic grey. You have a very artistic eye. So just do your thing!
My vote is for the green. It brings the garden and forest inside. It’s so soothing to the eye and soul. I love green.
I see copper for your overhead! It will tie everything together with the tones of your wood of your island counter top and the vibrance of the green. Pam's Idea below me is fantastic. the hammered finish is calling for it.
Yes green is my most favorite color! 4:14
Hi Jess, maybe with it being above the stove have you sweet hubbies take it down and use a high heat paint for like engines???? It will only be a few shades to choose but will last a long time. ❤❤❤❤
I vote blue ! It's a beautiful color. Your island could also be blue to match. It's gorgeous 💙💙💙💙
GREEN ISLAND. COPPER HOOD. They would reflect your vibrant personality!!! ❤❤❤❤ Love, prayers, and hugs!! 🥰🤗🙏🙏
i just subscribed to the cooking channel. I could have sworn I subscribed to it when you started it, but realized that I wasn't getting it in my feed, so I will be watching the old videos to catch up.
Green would look wonderful in there! It would tie the pear 🍐 picture in beautifully
4:04 oooo the greeeeen would look so lovely!!! Your right the brick is very pick and when your face is in front of it, it almost blends in. I like the blue too but it would be another dark element.

What about a copper colored spray paint for the range hood?
Green is also my favorite color, so I vote for the vibrant green on both the island and the range hood. 💚🍐💚
I like the idea of painting the hood the same color as the island. I think the green would look glorious!
Green please ❤
Yes, for the green island! If it makes you happy, just do it! Your waiting room is becoming a warm home from your heart. 🎉😊❤
Thank you and God bless you ❤
I vote blue on the hood and green on the island. I think it'll be nice for you to look at, and quite frankly, you've got to look at it. Those colors are calming and nurturing, which will be good for your mind. Love your content. Sending blessings.
Agreed!
Go green (if that's what your heart wants), and feed your soul. Bright and colorful with lots of green sounds like you and your garden.
Leave it black (fresh coat). It’s a great grounding color for your other colors. It’s a great piece.
I think your home was perfect as it was.
Love the new more relaxed vibe Jess. At 62, I am totally in agreement with your decision to stay and love the home you are in. Definitely the blue.... ❤❤❤❤
You asked for opinions so…. In my opinion, since you like variety of color, I’d do the hood in the rust color. Green, brown and rust would make a great kitchen combo!
Can I just say that your pantry shed is a dream? Even in its disarray, I would LOVEEEEE a separate space for all the pantry things in our house!
Just wanted to say, “thank you for being you”😊I’m trying to put my mind on things that are lovely, helpful, hopeful and not on the political news cycle. Thank you for your authentic, genuine videos and your laugh!

There is something pretty special about homegrown spices and herbs!
I believe you should paint your hood a color that will excite you to be at your cooktop and one that warms your heart when you approach it in the morning as you begin your day! I like the navy blue, although I don’t have to live with it. Happy one year on the Farmer’s Table!
suggest going for pops of orange... goes really well with green and brown.. Orange on the kitchen doors?😅 I painted mine with an orange paint to cover up cheap doors temporarily then stencilled with a grey blue to tune them down a bit ..
LOVE the green for the kitchen island. You are so awesome. just do you and whatever you choose to do
When I saw the thumbnail, before watching any of the video, I said to myself, "Aw, she's painting the hood. @catlovernat I have actually bought some contact paper but haven't tried it yet LOL
I think a green island and a brick color hood would be so pretty❤
I love the idea of doing the island and range hood with the green you mentioned. I love the new color of your cabinets and the green will go well.
GREEN 💚💚💚💚
How about metallic copper?
Green is also my favorite color. I once painted my living room a color called sage green and I loved it. I also got sooo many compliments on it which I was really surprised about bc initially I wasn't 100%. It took a few days and I really was in love with it. It's like u said I felt at home. I like the Terra Cotta on the hood and you can repaint the island. You should do you though. My husband always vetoes any shade of green.
I think the blue paint looks really nice. I'm excited to see what you choose!
Any color that brings you joy is the color to choose! My opinion hearing you talk about the colors is the green.
Loveeeee the idea of green for the hood and island however I also like the blue!!
White green blue is a great palette!

I love greens. Go for it~
I like the blue 💙
Green is my favorite color. My last house was teal with white trim & inside our hallway and into the bedroom was a pretty light mint green color. I loved it! Our new house is going to need some repainting eventually!
warm colors for sure
I feel like I watch all of your videos and I never caught that you had the Farmers Table! Off to subscribe now!
Hope you had a nice family dinner!
❤I’m sipping on a up of tea that I made with herbs I grew his summer. Your ginger is fabulous! I need to harvest mine tomorrow while filling more tea bags. 😊
You are vibrant, so your home should be that also . Green 💚 😂
Hey Jess! You’re doing great!
People, we need to talk up their channels! Let’s get R&R up to 1M! Let’s move ‘em all up!
Green. Nice❤
I thought the color you were showing on the range hood was a copper and I thought that would look really nice. Maybe paint the island green like the cabinets or even a different shade of green seeing that it's your favorite color. I'm glad you all decided to stay put. Blessings.
I really like your house. Color yes.
What are the green things in your freeze dryer pans? Also, I love these hang out times because I learn how to run a household better
Green! Blue! Do you girl! 👏👏
Blue and green alll the way. Love your advice. I'm dreaming of putting in a French kitchen garden right outside my kitchen door!
Just go 🌱 green. You already know you’ll love it & you can always go back if you want. Green island, hood, & something else to really make it pop❤
I would paint the hood and the counter sides green. I loved your old house. Miah did a fine job on remodeling.
I love color!!! So many rooms and so many colors!
I LOVE the navy blue. If you painted the island that color also, it would be beautiful 😊
I could eat soup three time a day! Whatever's in season, goes in the soup. Thanks Jess.
The brown is fine for the island. The blue is nice for the range hood. It's a blue that tends toward neutral so it wouldn't be too much with the dark green if you do that to the island. If you leave the island the blue adds subtle color. That blue is in your runner rug.
Green is my favorite color, so I think the green would look beautiful on you stove top! Love your channel❤️
Green!!
it will look so happy !!
I love the brick/copper color for the range hood, and that would go with the green as well. I think a lighter color on the range hood opens up the space and ties in the colors of the butcher block counters
Just do whatever makes you and yours happy Jess!
Green on both 😊
That green is pretty! Good choice!
If you do the green on the island then you should put the green also put it on your stove cover. It will blend with the one wall that is also green. I also love green. Good luck.
I love the green choice.
Fun video!!! As far as your color choices for the kitchen, you appear to have decided based on what you talked about in the video👍 So go for it!!! Fun vibrant colors are always great! I don’t think you’ll get sick of them❤
Definitely paint the island green!

Have you considered painting the is;land and the stove hood the blue and the room that you said was brown the beautiful green?
The colours in the carpet runner already look nice in that space, I like your choices. The range hood red does lean pink I'd pivot and go for a more terracotta tone and use the navy on the island. Your kitchen is lovely as it is, how it was and it will definitely take on a warm family feeling. Go with your gut. CONGRATS on 1 year with farmers table. I remember your first video, how has it been a year already!? 😅🎉🎉
GREEN!!!!!!!!!! 🤩
I think the green on the island would be absolutely lovely! I'm not sure about a blue range hood - I guess I'm partial to the brick red or the greyish brown on that. But really - that wonderful color in your kitchen also makes it a happier place to be!
Green!! 😍
Manufactured is the word babe. I'm looking into that too. I personally think terracotta would look nice but going with the choices you said, I'd go with the pear.
