One thing that could be very interesting is if they do the same thing they did with DEC which is give a 3x bonus for burning on the first day. In that case we might see a liquidity crisis in cards. There could also be a situation where we see a mass unstaking on land to get the penny cards and burn them. This would also come with a DEC unstaking of course. I guess we'll see what happens.
I have no idea how successful it will be but while looking at the market for liquidity makes a fun talking point, it has nothing to do with what will happen. Remember, listings die after 30 days now and it costs 1 dec to relist. That's led to a situation where there are millions of cards that are just waiting their turn to be dumped. Land is soaking up some of them but the backlog seems to be never ending. But of course it will end one day and we've seen some big dumps recently. One player dropped $1000 worth of just pelacor bandits on the market last week. They sold out today but more will come. Most of what will be burnt (if its attractive) will be what players are already holding and any push higher we see in prices will be met with more selling. But every card burned is one more that isn't waiting to be dumped and eventually, that will matter. It won't just be the hardy stonefish. Matt is going to add rarities to the mix. We may see a lot of Harklaws and Uraeus hitting the furnace. It also seems like there will be a promo card. My guess is the promo card will be the guild power of this burn event. Burn X amount of CP to get 1 bcx of a promo card sort of thing. Ultimately, I am excited. I hope its really successful but my hopes aren't high. There is A LOT of over supply and one burning event isn't going to fix that.
What outcomes are we hoping for from this? I'm not seeing the win from just burning the lowest value cards. If we want to raise the value of all cards burn packs instead
This should be a great year for all of us!! Love Splinterlands!!! Played daily for 2yrs straight!!!

Would there still be a card burn event now that Land 2.0 potentially has infinite card staking?
I don’t really understand the advantage of doing a Card burn event, we should just do another DEC burn event. Card inflation = DEC inflation.

That’s the biggest argument against the event I’ve heard, and it’s valid.
Thank you for being realistic
