    You can tell Izzo really cares about his players. I'd love to play for a guy like that

    I'm maize n blue for life but I respect Izzo for telling it like it is, offering up no excuses and giving credit where credit is due. A real class act.

    Student-athletes should not be required to participate in postgame press conferences. Or they should be paid for it. Period.

      +Mysterious Pirate with how much money goes into the NCAA and how they get free education and treated like pro athletes, I disagree.

    • @revpgesqredux
      @revpgesqredux 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mysterious Pirate i do not think they ought to be paid beyone the free tuition and board and room...but that board and room should include plenty of food and travel too. However, i agree with you 100% that if they are required to speak...if that is punishable in anyway if they refuse, then they ought to pay them more than the fine would be.

      +Mysterious Pirate I think their participating in post game press conferences, especially ones like this that are hard, are great life experiences that build character and resolve.

      +Mysterious Pirate it's probably more for experience. I mean, they're probably going to the NBA.

      +flyingfishsurf I don't think it's fair for the non athlete student to effectively cover the cost of running a basketball program. I mean if you go to university to study, who cares if there's a basketball team competing in a tournament? I'm from the UK and the concept of student athlete just puzzles me

      +Philip Davis Badgers will own him next year. They are only going to lose one player from this year's team. Jordan Smith who averages less than one minute per game is the ONLY senior on the team.

    MSU one of my favorite teams that aren't my lifelong favorites - maybe the only team which has earned my full respect and admiration as an adult. i wish Izzo were younger so we could steal him for UNC when Roy retires. Class and common sense. The presser is one example why. i wish all these young men and Coach Izzo the very best. i had them in the FF, and if things were played again, they would probably be there 9 times out of 10. This was one of those freak things. Congrats to MTSU for playing one of those games.

    If you look at the stat lines, they are almost identical. 11 3's made by both teams. Field Goal percent both in high 50's. MTSU did make 3 more foul shots. MSU had so many games this season like this. Close or down at the end of the first half, then the other team starts falling apart in the second half. MTSU never let up. Kept making key shots. Kept crashing the basket and getting foul shots. And their multiple defensive schemes were genius. MTSU reminds me so much of George Mason from several years ago. If they play like this the next few games, I see them as an Elite 8 team.

    As a Michigan state fan to be honest I was a little bit mad but then I thought about all the hard work the guys put in and that is happens.We ran into a great team that was shooting excellent from the 3 point line. But I am really going to miss Denzel Valentine,Bryn Forbes and Matt Costello.

    Why do they subject these young men to these post-game interviews? What is it the reporters or we get from them? We saw the game probably; saw what went wrong or right. Why keep asking? It's like we WANT them to lose control and say something regrettable. NCAA should simply stop them.

    • @dte8329

      Kristi Sharp, would you be saying that if they won? I go to MTSU and support our team and I can appreciate how our guys stood in and answered questions after the Syracuse game. What makes this situation different? If they talk in a win, they should talk in a loss. Simple as that

    • @awesomeyay12334

    what program has a better program than MSU? North Carolina: a program marred with academic rumors and violations. Kentucky: a coach that was a cheater at Memphis with a one and done culture, very little graduation and tons of transfers. Duke: team USA's coach that undoubtedly gets better recruits and better officiating because of that title. look at last year's team in the tournament, the foul disparity was hugely in their favor every game. officials trying to buddy up with coach k so they can get to officiate USA basketball. Louisville: accusations of using prostitute's to entice recruits. kansas: you think MSU choked? look at their record in big games over the last 10 years. MSU/Izzo have been the model for a successful program. look at Izzos graduation rates. look at the recruit that comes in and the caliber of player that leaves the program. look at the players that return to show respect and support for the program. Did they choke this year? yes, but look at their record in the tournament and the number of upsets they caused over these last 15 years. There isn't another program out there that even compares to the MSU family, and family is the word former players use to describe the program. there is a reason that sports commentators have nothing bad to say about this program. Stephen A Smith routinely says that Tom Izzo is his favorite coach and if he had a son he would want him to play in his program. Go ahead and hate on the program but just understand that its the best in the land.

      +Kevin Dorn plenty of what?

    • @Steve-bc8el
      @Steve-bc8el 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kevin Dorn MSU hasn't won a conference title since 2011 and hasn't won a national title in 16 years. They aren't even close to the best program. And if you want to talk about the caliber of player that leaves the program, look at the lack of successful NBA players under Izzo over the last 15 years, not the mention the recent arrests of Cleaves and Dawson.

      honestly i think that day was a combo of bad luck for msu, and a really good day for MTSU. They deserved to win, and did not play like a 15 seed team at all.

      Austin Brown They lost TWICE to Iowa... once to NEBRASKA (didn't even make the tourney), Purdue, and Wisconsin. This was NOT an elite team.

    • @austinbrown7614
      @austinbrown7614 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Iowa is a good team, along with Purdue and Wisconsin. Lets also mention the fact they beat a good Maryland team and a good Purdue team to win the Big Ten Tourney. They also beat Kansas, Louisville, providence, Indiana, etc. This team was elite

    • @rds990
      @rds990 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Austin Brown Elite ??.....riiiiight. That's why they lost to a 15 seed. Riiiiiight. Keep selling yourself on that one. They were a good team....not an elite one. Great teams have the mental toughness this team lacked.
