- In this video I show you a compact way of organizing your factory based on the idea of having input resources flow through the middle of your assembly lines. This eliminates the need to have green circuits and copper wires on belts, and keeps your factory small and tidy.
You will need to be pretty familiar with the game to be able to follow along.
I have 300+ hours in factorio yet watching your compact designs opens up a whole new world in the game. I just started to make advanced stuff, mostly with circuits but this is so simple and efficient, love it.
I've have 600 lol
I really like these old tutorial videos that double as an asmr lol
Yeah im new at the game, about 100+ hours in and i kinda love these old textures too, kinda reminds me of an old mc texture called "soartex fanver"
This is probably the single greatest tutorial out of everything I've learned in my first 100 hours of Factorio.
Building this way solves everything I was having issues with. Locality of resources, whether or not to share between different assembly lines and of course overall factory size. Thank you so much!!
OMG that's the most efficient way to build a factory without losing my mind on belts or robots or stuff
THANK YOU so much for the share!
You're like a Bob Ross of factorio, just throw a few happy little inserters in there and you're a moviestar
Why am i finding this video just now??? This layout is awesome and i like the small but tilabe footprint of these! Imma go straight into a creative game of my own and start messing around with this concept and start making some blueprints with this because this is just awesome. Cheers!
Very cool video. The hardest thing about this game is building factories that are extendible while also having all the resources you need within reach of the assemblers. Very inspiring, thank you
I waste 60 + hours balancing my circuit factory and here you come with this solution. Thanks man !
Just played on the nintendo switch, and found your video,
I want to say that this is so cool!
Thanks for your video!
Crazy idea! Didn't even come close to thinking of this. I've been playing for maybe 10 hours and just got to the blue science packs. Although the recipe has changed, the idea still stands. Thanks for the great design
Creating "prostate units" I keep getting in my head after hitting tireness too a different level. This video is so useful!
This is unintentional asmr, this is great
Yeah the mouth noise before a lot of sentences
I'm happy to find out, that I already did these things without even watching the tutorial :D
Now to integrate proper ratios though...
Such an efficient and simple approach. Thank you, I will definitely try this out!
Hey, you´re verry good at explaining. Even though i´ve been plying factorio for a long time now, it´s still interesting to see new desings :-) keep up your good work :-)
you are good at explaining and playing you have a talent :D
Thank you M. N. Arı! That makes me very happy to hear!
I've just uploaded a new video if you are interested :)
sublimeant i will definitely check it out!
M. N. Arı reminds me on Bob Ross
Let's make a tiny factory here...
The underground belts can stack on top of each other if they're different colors. For example you can weave a red belt on top of a yellow belt using the undergrounds.
Got reccomanded 4 years later and nice.
3:18 Thank you so much !! I've never used that tool x)
how do you build so fast!? its amazing, really!!!! :-D amazingly compact layout! i am a new factorio player, and i find what you guys do really educational and genius...
This microphone dude, like you whispering sexy stuff in my ear but it is factorio tutorial.
Great design! And I like your video concept, more please :)
Thanks Oskar, glad you like it! I've just uploaded a new video if you are interested, and more will come :)
I love playing Factorio this way, especially with calculating every thing I need to have peak efficiency. Playing the game like this is in favor of efficiency.
awesome designs mate, this inspires me to redo a few of my factories. thanks for this video
Nice and compact. I love this kind of builds. Bravo..
you have just have blown my mind holy shit this is amazing
I'm loving these compact layout videos! Keep it up :)
Really compact. Cool!) Thank you, man!
Thank you. Now I want to try those layouts myself
Watching your latest video(s) with the excellent content, we are still waiting for a ultra compact nano mall comprising only of the most important items like inserters, belts, splitters, powert poles and assembly machines 1 &2
yes, it's compact, but you can't get the correct ratios, or decent build times with this method, and is not as expandable as using a main-bus system, also, less efficient to build green circuits on site as opposed to putting them on a bus (many things need green circuits, so it's best to just have a centralized place to build them. transfer belts don't require energy, lots of inserters and assemblers DO. also the polution generated using this method is increased. But for early game...this works quite nicely. I would not, however advise keeping this setup even into mid-game. dismantle as soon as possible
(not as expandable = once you go further down, the build stops, because the first few iterations of the build take up the full bandwidth of the belt.)
But no arguments against this being the most compact way to build these particular items....just not as good for long term use as one might think.
But the biggest issue is that, by having everything based on direct insertion, you spread your circuit production out (making beacons harder to employ, or even doubling the amount of assemblers you are using in a base for circuit production. Sectioned off areas specifically designed for circuits means that, yes you have to belt (or otherwise transport circuits to factories that require them), but it's overall less costly....especially once you get to massive builds.
The time i can see this design technique functioning especially well (or being the optimal design) is specifically for very early game. (want to spend 10 minutes crafting ONLY inserters and belts for a large blueprinted smelting array? this is a nice little blueprintable section of a small base that can be painlessly employed and then removed.
But you would not want to use this technique everywhere (or for very long). Specifically for the reason that circuit production is best done in its own area where it can benefit 1) from dedicated lines of resources that have been calculated for perfect ratios and 2) enough space to use beacons to maximize circuits per hour / space required.
Sentient2x Fuck off, he's given valid, "polite" criticism. Just because your idiot self can't handle it...
I think structures draw power only when they're active. So, if this design doesn't have a 100% uptime, then it doesn't draw 100% power.
@@bloopbleep7527 Oh shit, did I say a no no word?
you're a very lovely guy, hope you're having a good day!
I just realized something. This kind of compact setup is perfect to use with dedicated solar mini farms. And with proper planning, there won't ve any need for excessive expansion beyond what's already planned. I'll keep this in mind and balance the I/O ratio for consumption.

Pls make more, your a real help
I never have biters on. its so peaceful.
same
you’re a genius..
wow this is sick!!!!! Very nice work, jusz what i need it!!!!!
Thank you for sharing. Im new and my base looks like christmas light cords in knots.
you made a lot better version of what i did alone in 1 hour
Add a lot more of these, please
Compact Green Circuits, Assembling Machines, Modules, et.al.
You aren't yelling enough to ever be a famous youtuber! Also, no facecam.
Awesome video, though.
Awesome. So compact.
16:40 Should have put the pipes between the circuit assemblers and belt. Diminishes width by 1.
this is a really cool video, you got a sub
Fastest hands in building i've ever seen.
What is that black thing that your belts and inserts are being fed into?
Thanks, good for startup prod. I learned allot. :)
Your voice is so soft that it soothes me. :D
It's okay to be compact, but not efficient, nice video like!
Is this the modded Factorio? As Blue science packs do not require filter inserters on my Factorio version
thanks sooo much for the help
now that is bloody awesome ..
COME BACK PLEASE.
beautiful
That's great! Thanks for the video :)
Liked, subscribed. You earned it:) will check out your other videos, will be waiting for more!
Accomplishing 'huge amounts' wont be possible. Once the 4th piece in that row has its limit, the other 3 factories wait to chain up again...
So you cant let everything run at 100% at all times, but rather always at the slowest speed of the group.
Big factories are way more time efficient, yet not nearly as compact.
Probably quite good for a low resources setup... yet not if you want to start a rocket each 3 m
This video made me skip work and do this design for 10 hours
Nice one
Wow I always make this really huge and complex factory for making the green science kits...this is like a quarter of that size AND extendable?? :O
43 people hit dislike by mistake because they couldn't take their eyes off the video.
Its Brilliant .thanks.
Thanks, now my factory doesn't have to be stupidly inefficient
Such layouts are very interesting, but you'll often end up with improper ratios.
I do a splitting off furnace+trainwagon system. the train can have 4 cargo wagons, I put each train-wagon's harvested material output(ores) to it's own separated(from the other wagons) boxing and conveyor belt line, going to 4 individual furnace lines(6 long?) totally separated. It ends up as a box coming out with 4 different storage and base output locations, from the one initial resource depo, per say. I pull each area to a different necessity and use splitters to further dictate their flow. It's hard to end on a % that isn't divisible by 2 like 1/3rd, probably partially impossible actually.
If the compact design has bad ratios you can use modules to help balance it out, and usually you can use long-hand inserters, normal inserters and advanced underground belts to pull faster outputs out of the machine elsewhere. In any case, wasted time on something you are optimizing for compactness is usually the lower-number demanded items. At least I wouldn't recommend for en masse, so you're definitely right on that notification.
Can you make a video optimizing his design?
Nice :) like it! Go on!
Thank you PipoGeee! I've just uploaded a new video if you are interested :)
How did u do the infinite material spawn?
Nice
Interesting idea. You forgot steel on the bus though.
Can you please link any blueprints or places we can get them for this way of playing?
Love it.
Thank you!
This layout is incredible, but I can hear every drop of spit that has ever entered your mouth when you talk.
Super helpful video that I struggled to watch.
how do you place the blueprint with the stuff in your inventory??
When I do this I have all the plates ready to be fed into my assembly machine, the loader feeds a few plates into the machine and then it just stops. Why????
the stuff it makes isnt taken out
Would recommend against using this build stile going to create more problems later in the build
are you just building one of each thing or are you thinking about crafting time? i dont think the ratios are good there... also, these are not really good for late game...
what is item void???
goddamn i'm feeling dumb right now lol nice one bruh
does anyone know how i can get those chests?
BOM DIA! Pra mim é uma honra esta aqui te prestigiando, vamos sempre juntos somar e fortalecer nossos trabalhos, eu já estou por aqui
You blueprints are not anymore compatible with version 0.15.12 and recipes have changed - pls share a new set as your ideas are nothing short if excellent !
Thanks in advance-
Tendi porra nunhuma
I have 19 hours on factorio and i'm still trash as hell lol
wow blue science is way different now
Funny think that I came up with that and showed my friend but he said it not efficient

6:19 how
I suggest you to do the tutorials, you'll find out a lot of good tips there
I cant handle gasses
Damn
I suck at building
This is really helpful. Just need to take your mic out of your mouth lol
man what the fuck
i have small brain, i can't play this shit.
