just go true to size, i have skinny but wide-ish feet and went tts and they fit great, i keep the laces pretty loose and lace up the last two eyelets so the fat tongue can pop out, the thickness of the shoe will keep it on your feet so don’t worry about them falling off
I grew up in the 90’a and 2000’s and for sure people didn’t skate in these because they didn’t even exist. Skaters didn’t even really wear Vans in the 90’s and 2000’s. It was looked as poser shit or whatever but if they ever did wear Vans….they skated in the AV Eras and the Vans Old Skool maybe the slip ons and the Authentic eras.
Vans are still the best skate shoes based on price on performance. It doesn’t matter if the company has changed, the shoes still remain some of the best ever.

Tried these on at my local vans store & they are not as comfortable as I thought they were going to be, my 1994 adidas shoes are more comfortable than those.
