Pine Island Ospreys~The Conflicts and A Journey Feb 3, 2025

Mr Owl has returned again the last 2 early mornings, and again disrupted the Osprey pairs efforts. Both species doing what they were born to do, which can at times be unpleasant to watch. The best memories come from the good times, and being a part of helping nature succeed. Life in the wild is a day to day watch. Both species trying to be successful.

That’s bad ass. Owls are hardcore. Night vision and silent mode Hopefully it can get some dinner at this restaurant one of these nights. Big balls on the osprey too. Well done all around. 👏🏼

I understand your sentiment, Sunnie. Still, sometimes I have to look away. A friend of mine in Naples lives along a large canal. Lately a nearly-adult eagle and a younger eagle have been hunting the ducks and ibises that make their home there. As much as I want to see the eagles thrive, I still root for the other birds when the eagles dive on them.

I’ve seen the damage owls can do to osprey chicks and they are relentless when it comes to dive bombing eagles off their perches.
