"we dont touch grass, we touch grace" inmediately walks outside and touches grass
This was my first soulslike I ever played/beat, and the experience/difficulty made it all absolutely worth it! Cannot describe how accomplished I felt when it was over and done with. Was also the first game I ever platinum’ed!
Also, don’t listen to anyone who tells you “you’re playing it wrong”- make this experience your own! Build your character into what you want him to be! And become the Elden Lord. ☺️☺️ I wish you the best of luck should you choose to continue!
Same. I then went directly into sekiro. I am now beating isshin for fun. Hoorah
Chat doesn't ruin a blind souls game playthrough challenge (impossible)
I did ask for help
@@ChoctopusLite and you're allowed to ruin your own experience
@@Evan-kNot everyone enjoys the experiences as you do
@@Isabelle64449 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Isabelle64449 you can't really know if you enjoy an experience until you experience it
There are loads of good tips in the comments for new players, here’s mine anyways:
The character is a adventurer
Use every trick you got, change tactics, abuse your deaths, run away, farm levels to crunch opposition, ignore the problem till you’re ready
People always say “git gud” but that’s more for people complaining.
In Eldensoulsborne the best beginning player advice in my opinion is “get creative if all else fails”.
God I wish I could experience that again. The spike in difficulty is gone after that first playthrough, you pretty much hold onto that muscle memory and subsequent playthroughs become easier and easier
The timing on this is insane I just beat the game for the first time and then I saw this
It’s definitely a tuff game. I’m on my third play through and still struggle with bosses. But it’s nice to know you are at least enjoying the game.
if souls like games are a new genre ur exploring, i suggest checking out Another Crab's Treasure!!! super cute with great characters and challenging bosses and some of the best writing around, i would love to watch u play it Choc!
It also has accessibility options so people can cater the challenge to their skill level and enjoy the game while still being challenged.
"at least my wolves are still there"
*Wolves die literally less than a second later*
It is a little bit sad that chat told him everything so there is little to none surprise factor in this playthrough
That happens all the time when new players are playing a fromsoftware game for the first time
Yeah chat ruins this game for new players. I love when they ignore chat. They always want to turn every streamer into the same damn build.
@@Tneal78 he asks for help and accepts it when he wants to, ignores when he doesn't care for the advice. also i dont think his mishmashed pickaxe build is "the same damn build"
"How hard can it be ? " huehuehuehue ptsd of the Final dlc boss
I had to pull out the antspur rapier and fingerprint shield for the final boss, God damn that boss sucked
That thumnail make you look like you are goin to get the morgott version of NIHIL
22:05 LMAOOO I'm sorry, my count was way off
you're good. it's big boss' fault for not adding a death counter in the 1st vod I pulled the footage from LMAO.
Please dear God somebody tells me choc learns how to crit enemies after the stance break, watching him wail on the golem while it was down for NO DAMAGE had me frothing at the mouth and popping a vein
you're also expected to die to the first boss in the first Dark Souls.
it's possible to win, but something will kill you afterwards anyway.
Demons souls, not dark souls. The game wants you to just run from the first boss in dark souls.
@@EmmyEntropy2000 Tree Sentinel reference
@@Sushiboii112 don’t think so, “it’s possible to win but something will kill you afterwards anyway.” Is exactly how the grafted scion works
@@EmmyEntropy2000 That just sounds like soldier of godrick boss fight lol. He will always kill you no matter what you do
@@RavenGamingOverLord yeah. The Soldier of God is always the strongest.
Hey so my biggest tip is to try to disconnect from your character. You’re not fighting a monster, you’re playing a rhythm game. You need to be analyzing the arena and the timing of the move set (sometimes without attacking at all). You need to stop worrying about dying, it’s so much less punishing than many other souls games in the run backs to the boss. Plus you get to see a silly animation of your character getting their shit rocked! My second biggest tip is don’t put yourself through the ringer if you don’t have to! Take your time to get stronger if you’re struggling with bosses. Go level up the stats that make you take less damage (vigor for health, endurance for stamina and heavier armor, or just any of them. They will all increase your damage resistances! Don’t take that third one for granted tho) go find that heavier armor and upgrades for your items. Use summons if the game isn’t fun for you! No one will blame you if you do. Most importantly: Don’t Give Up! You can do this
death became a strat for me. 'okay... where should I die this time?'
Tried all fromsoft in a raw, only really completed BB, then I went for magic in ER and it's very chill, I love it
I suck at video games even though I've played them for many years as well but I appreciated that you can grind and cheese bosses using summons. It is one of my favorite games even though I am terrible at it.
Here, here! I've been playing video games since pong, had the Atari with Pacman and Missile Command, never really stopped playing but you know... had a life in between. Now retired I play tons but realize that after decades at it I am... not bad, maybe average but not even close to your basic streamer and half their fans. Elden Ring is so good precisely because it gives you different ways of defeating bosses and progressing through the game. Cheese if necessary... or just for the hell of it, it's a game! I'm almost done, just need Malliketh then Radagon and maybe Melenia so I'm just levelling the crap out of my guy so he can take a few hits that I just can't seem to avoid.
i didnt think id see choc play eldenring and im happy he did
and eldenring was also my first and only souls ive played
I've played this game, I don't even know how many times and I still sometimes struggle on bosses. Red wolf of radagon either takes me 2 tries or like 20, it's a hard game
Why is the content of this man so underated?
I would say u did pretty well for your first soulslike if anything consider to level up your health more at first is really easy to underestimate how good that is, there's a couple of things you're missing on like critical hits, jumping attacks and two handed mechanics not to mention postureo damage but you'll get them eventually
You got this mate, best of luck to you
For the record if you're interested in future off-stream playthroughs: Stormveil Castle is intended for level 30-40 characters having upgraded their weapons to +3-4 (normal) or +1-2 (Somber) with Godrick being on the high end of that scale. Margit by extension is best done around level 20-30 as he's the gatekeeper whose defeat ensures you have leveled up enough, are smart enough, or are skilled enough to be able to take on the castle. 20-25 Vigor also ensures you have an easier time doing so considering your damage will generally come more from weapon upgrades than stats this early into the game, and the amount of Vigor you want thereafter will then come down to whether you like fighting up close or from afar and the tools you have available to you.
Anyway, it's good to hear you found your groove. Once it clicks with you, the rest of the pieces will start to come together from there on. I'll be looking to see how your character eventually turned out, though my guess is you went with a pure Strength unga bunga warrior build which, going from a Samurai, isn't bad considering quite a few weapons want some points in Dexterity. My other guess is that you went with a Str/Dex Quality warrior build which will be good in lategame.
"What is your opinion on Skibidi Toilet?"
"I am...36 years old."
Best response I've ever heard.
Also, never listen to chat. There may be a few in there who know what they're talking about or want to help, but really, there's an even greater number of people who just want to see you fail and get frustrated, so they'll purposely misdirect you. :P
The first giants are there to practice fighting bigger enemies, once you know you know, it become easy.
Seeing him level up strength for a dex weapon instead of vigor at low levels is peak new new player experience.
Edit: then downgrading weapons…amazing! Bleed was making the game too easy for him anyways lol.
You did fine. Aim for 60 Vigor, 30 Endurance, 55 Strength and 55 Dex. That gives you a lot of freedom to try different weapons and survive.
My 1rst Software experience was Armored core 6 and than Elden Ring and It's absolutely Amazing 🔥💯 Now gonna Play Lies of P its not a Software game but its kinda Soulslike
Uh oh. He said it's too hard, and that doesn't pan out well in the community.
Lots of good advice in the Comments, here, so I'll add one I don't usually see:
Knowing your optimal range is important, and changes some based on your opponent.
*Generally* you'll want to stay close in as a Melee build. But it's ESPECIALLY important when fighting magic users or Bosses of any kind. They ALWAYS have something that can hit you at range, so distance is only useful if you need space to heal. Otherwise, being close enough to attack whenever you get an opening is far more effective.
I'm happy for you ^^
I got Elden Ring on release, blazed through it in 2 weeks, got the platinum... and I've never touched it since 😂
DLC is good, if you want to try it.
I'm sorry
idk if anyone’s told you but you look so much like the professional wrestler adam cole i can’t unsee it 😭
"Put these foolish ambitions to rest."
They are the most satisfying games to play
Ive always enjoyed Dark Souls asthetic but never played it, Elden Rings trailer came out and I was hyped so I Pre Odered it but since ive never played a souls like game I played Bloodborne before getting into Elden Ring and loved it now Elden Ring is my favorite game behind Monster Hunter.
Nicely done!
This game drives me crazy. MOAR.
I just finished my 4th playthrough before the dlc dropped love elden ring to death
Who did that thumbnail? It looks incredible

From what I can tell, the game hasn't clicked for you just yet, but when it does, you are going to be doing quite well. Despite getting your ass handed to you in the Margit fights, you are not panic dodging but actually dodging on his cues. Once you understand concepts such as:
-weapon scaling/infusions
-stance damage
-ashes of war
you will be dominating. To a lesser extend, it will also be useful to understand the parrying mechanic, even if you ultimately choose not to use it.
Just wait for the next few episodes. I started to lock in. I’m currently at the Fire Giant.
I thought this was gonna be a long video hating on Elden ring, I was pleasantly surprised
>Using Katana
>Levels strength
I made the same mistake in dark souls 1 too though so don't worry about it.

It’s not too hard, just the guidance of grace is a little insufficient in guiding you

XD man i forgot sometimes that older generations than mine tend to have bigger issues with PC and console games as you guys didnt grow up with them (i was born in 2001) and still have to remind myself my mother when she tried to get into games just to try and be able to get interested in my hobby she couldnt even properly walk forward constantly tapping W instead of holding it and couldnt turn the camera not understanding that she needed to lift the mouse and set it opposite the way she wanted to look before dragging the way she does want to look as far as she can until shes looking the direction she wanted XD
Love this ❤
Aye I see my name in chat
Elden ring is really not a hard game besides a couple bosses "Ahem DLC".It's super easy if you really know what you are doing I.E. getting to level 150 and geared in a hour or so.
A good starter souls game is bloodborne
If you want to go ahead and play dark souls before that if you want to. If not then be careful
Lol I’m sorry love the video but damn you raising my blood pressure ,lol I can’t watch no more my man finally pulled out torrent, I’m still leaving a like and don’t give up lol.
Heres a tip, never listen to chat
It's on you, not the game.
I was there
git gud
see, your first mistake was ever using the Pickaxe.
Wait for future episodes. Pickaxe is carrying me lol.
@@ChoctopusLite why not just use a hammer then lol, and if you think the pickaxe is great you can find Gut's Greatsword, tho its just titled Greatsword
Unironically a goated weapon
Please get into souls likes games
I recommend going to Moghwen Pallace, there's the best rune farm. Get a bow and kill the bird below or kill the npc's sitting down to get 30-50k runes. It's South East of Moghwen Pallace.
To get to Moghwen Pallace you can:
1. Find the White Mask dude from the beginning, he's somewhere middle after Stormvail castle, at a cathedral of Makira somewhere near the area of Lucaria, in the middle of the map.
Finish his quest he'll give u something to teleport to Moghwen PALLACE.
Beat Radhan and use his weapon to quickly farm or beat the game and you'l have a chance to get a weapon and use that to quickly farm even faster
There is zero reason to ever rune farm in a normal Elden Ring playthrough, just do the side dungeons and do coop with randos and you'll have more than enough runes
@@minerman60101 oh yeah? I've got a good reason. How bout cuz I suck that's the reason. Got to Malliketh having pretty much cleared all bosses in catacombs and tunnels at around level 130. I'd rather run the sleepers at Moghwen Palace than git gud so boom, try again at level 135. And again at level 140. soft capped vigor so add a few endurance get more armor... try again at level 145. okay getting thru the beast but you get the idea.
@@oneilprovost2287 that's fair, the late game is more stingy with side content. The DLC does give more opportunities for runes, but of course it's behind a $40 paywall and was behind a two and a third year long waiting wall. Much too late for this advice now, but if you weren't using it the physical damage resistance talismans are very good and may have been able to substitute the need for new armor.
@@minerman60101 actually... you nailed it. just yesterday I went thru Ranni's Q line and picked up that dragon talisman. Switched it in for the scarseal to stop getting the damage penalty so levelled to make up the lost boosts. This effin game man... I keep thinking I'm getting close to the end and find a whole questline I didn't even know about. felt good to beat Astel tho. Edit: Malliketh is down. Godfrey/HoaraxLoux is down. Radagon and Melenia await.
Not too hard. Not enough info
Stop complaining that the game is too difficult, its like buying a ticket to a water park and complaining that you got wet while inside. Yall are probably the same people that camp in corners or just cheat in fps games
who is complaining bro
Someone commented without watching the video and it shows 😇
@@ChoctopusLite wrong, it's just that I had also just watched a video about some absolute idiot that's trying to sue bandai namco for hiding content behind difficulty so it felt necessary to make the statement in general. If y'all took offense then that's on you
Aight bozo
@@ChoctopusLite aight noob
I like your videos a lot better without your face in it. Sorry
Womp womp
Get good.
Haven’t watched the video yet, but have you tried getting good, cause it sounds like a skill issue to me
And this is the exact reason why people don’t get into soulsborne games and rather stay away from the fandom. Any bit of challenge and instantly, you’ll have 300 ppl saying “git gud”. Maybe let people learn the damn game first and sometimes, too much challenge is just too much for some people.
The very reasonable “git gud” advice that definitely doesn’t paint you as a toxic member of the souls like community that also drives away new players from the genre. AKA, Gatekeepers.
