He has personal interest in the funds, as government grants him money for his businesses. How can he be allowed to participate in the financial affairs of the country, this appears to be so illegal but nobody is interfering. I worked as a Federal employee as an engineer for many years, we were given classes and held responsible for any involvement ourselves or someone from our family to be in a position of financial gain in relation to our acts or knowledge gained from the institution I worked for. People went to prison for things like that.

Giving Elon Musk's team access to the government's financial system and shutting down USAID raises serious concerns... Cutting waste is one thing, but who’s overseeing this power grab? Transparency and accountability shouldn’t be optional.
I think the point is that nobody has been overseeing some of these agencies in the past... Elon IS overseeing that's the point of this whole system... it sounds like USAID was terribly corrupt - he made the worm image to describe the sad state of the issue. It's probably for peoples dignity that nothing more has been said.. merely polite emails. It is ABSOLUTELY necessary to suddenly have things looked through before documents can be shredded etc. Corruption is a massive issue worldwide. We all know it is. Give peace a chance.
