great video! i've got a snippet of the original pre-rotoscoping version of take on me up on my channel, apparently it was partially aired in a few 80's music tv specials. it's watermarked by a fan page whose owner offered to send a raw rip but never got back to me, it remains all that circulates to my knowledge.
FANTASTIC video. I really appreciate the care you put into every video… Also, Living Daylights is an underrated Bond theme…and there are two versions of that as well. This band has been blessed with infinite mulligans.
I went down Steve Barron’s IMDB rabbit hole last year when I watched his first film, “Electric Dreams”, and yeah, the list of videos he has directed is impressive. Considering he also directed the first TMNt movie, I spent much of my childhood watching something he made in some form or another.
I thank Pop-Up Video on Vh1 for introducing me to this video when I was a kid, as well as other videos from the 80s and the 90s that I would've never came across.
In Argentina where I'm from they went to have more than two songs, Classics Radio often play their singles. I guess that's the same for the rest of the world, where they seem to have had a very fruitful career, being relevant even past the 90s. Stay On These Roads and their version of Crying In The Rain are phenomenal songs
I wonder if your mentioning the Non Rotoscoped version of Take On Me will create a "Leave It" moment, in that it'll begin a lost media search. Then again, that footage is probably only in Steve Barron's possession, so whoever is willing to find it has to either become bff's with him or be the world's best at breaking into houses 😂😂
Why not a-ha are a great band they deserve everything they get because they are that good I love a-ha a band U never 4get 4 era & 4 this song & this video people won't 4get it & why would U want 2 I've!.
My hot take is the beginning of The Sun Always Shines on TV is what tanked A-Ha in the US. Look I was 10. And still, I HATED that video and song *specifically because* it cheapened The Greatest Video Ever Made (as of 1985... and maybe still). And if this 10 year old dork ass kid could be turned against the band that easily, so could others.

Heard this song a thousand times. Never seen the music video. I'm shocked too. Great video.

Yeah, I feel like if you get to do a Bond theme off of the success of another song, you can’t be considered a one-hit wonder, right?
"Hunted high and low..." I see what you did there! Love it
Wonderful work on this! Love it

This channel is absolutely goated, keep up the great work!
Great vídeo of a great band! And yeah, they are not 1 hit wonder, here in Brazil they are huge.
Now, this is definitely a good pick for a video.

By the way, this episode of Music Video Time is amazing. Congrats!

The article I used to reference the pre-rotoscoped version was from 2020 and he said he can't find it. It's not in Barron's possession it seems.
0:55 The day I heard this cover, I understood why people kill.
I just endured a 5-minute Christian anti-pornography commercial so you can get the extra penny and help the algorithm lol
2:11 HA
