I want a t-shirt that says, “Lift heavy weights and read heavy books”
Loved this and can’t wait to dig a little more into this method! Thanks for the links to the Etsy shop!

I have held onto a little card box with dividers since COLLEGE that I used to use for French, then thought I’d use for recipes/meal planning rotation, which never played out. I can totally see myself doing a task list rotation with it! I like that it feels like less of a commitment and is easily adjustable/flexible, as well as being a space saver. Sometimes a big beautiful chunky planner just feels like more of a to-do itself, and who needs more of those?! Thank you for the tips and resource as a springboard! 🙂

I'm definitely a planner girl and have been writing my three main tasks to complete down in that. It stays open all day, so I'm kept on track. This thought of using index cards instead of a planner is intriguing. Costs of planners are rising, and you do throw them away! Definitely looking into this!

That’s a good point! Twice now, I’ve spent around $50-$60 for planners that seemed more my style, and they were in the trash by springtime. I can’t stand the time-wasting redundancy of rewriting between monthly and weekly pages, so I do better with only a monthly spread, and use the notes column on the side for my running do-list that I plug in to the days as I go. But I’m looking forward to this chat about notecards to see if I can simplify even further! 👏

Emilie Barnes was a huge influence on the index card method years ago. She was like a Christian Martha Stewart.

Do not throw away planners....they become a history of your life! But yes, they are too expensive and often too big to keep. I have finally settled on a hardcover moleskin notebook (thin and no spiral means easier to store). I can keep changing my dashboard and notes as life changes.

But who is going to actually look through someone's old planners? :) Time would be better spent by self or others making a plan, looking at current plans, or reading a book. :) My planners go in the garbage because I want shelf space for books.

@@simplyconvivial yes, it is raw data. But I would totally read planners from my mother or grandmother to know what life was like for them. I am more likely to sketch out life in my planner than write a daily journal. I want to write the journal, but the planning is what actually happens!

@@TrenaGould It definitely does depend on how the planner is used! :) Someone looking at my planner might know what my head was like, but not necessarily what my real life was like - my plans are, as my friend once commented, delusions of grandeur 😂 And I'm fine getting it out of my head and then only doing 1/3 of it :)
