Powerful story. Sadly I am stuck with consumer debt and mortgage right now...but luckily my fiance is helping and I've been getting annual raises. My goal is to do my debt free scream one day!!! I can see it happening in maybe 5-10 years if I keep tackling it!

Based on what I read and hear about investing, if you are going to spending more than 2 years in Baby Step 2, one should start investing and save at least 3 months living expenses (Baby steps 3 and 4) after Baby Step 1.
Baby steps 2, 3 and 4 can be done simultaneously in my opinion depending on the scenario at hand.
