Each one is a little different and should be PT. I glue and tack the shim w 316 SS finish nails; predrill and off to the races. Sometimes you have to hit the concrete with a wheel for a smooth surfaces. It's a pretty cheap job as a DIY compared to hiring a contractor but hey, who wants a house to slide off the foundation and not covered by insurance?

Did you try using the Simpson URFP? They are waaaaaaay faster and easier to install. No shims required.
