1. *Assessment and Examinations*
**Primary (Grade 6)**: KNEC administers the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), which assesses learners at the end of Grade 6 under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
**Junior Secondary School (JSS)**: KNEC is responsible for developing and administering assessments for students in JSS (Grades 7-9). These assessments are designed to evaluate competencies acquired by learners during the three-year cycle of JSS.
2. *Certification*
After successful completion of the primary level, KNEC provides certification for learners who sit for the KPSEA.
