But 90% of the swiss tournements ive played used something along the following Round 1 pairings, top half the rating board plays the bottom half. E.g in a 50 player tournemnt 1 vs 26 seeds 2 vs 27.... 25 vs 50 Round 2 lets say 19 won, 19 lost, 12 drew. The lowest rated player that won would play the highest rated player that drew, and the lowest rated player to draw would play the highest rated player that lost. Note they also do what they did with round 1 with people on the same score with the added complication of people being alternating black n white and some people have already played eachother Round 3 onwards can get increasingly more complex. But rating os still a factor used to decide matchups What happens if their are an odd no.of players in a round, they first look at players without any byes, then whos on the lowest score and if there is multiple then the lowest rated player on that score gets given a 1 point bye (as opposed to the 1/2 point bye that can be requested in early rounds of most tournements)

My peak blitz was 1200 and 1550 and now it is 1350 and 1750 so for me it was 350 but now it's 400. It varies for different segments. For someone at 2300 both will be almost the same.

Blitz in lichess is 200-250 higher than Fide. Not 500.
