Absolutely phenomenal DIY video. I just purchased an Onward Li Ion cart - do you have any plans to create content on how to wire up a cart with Lithium batteries? The spec on the Onward shows that it is a 58V system, so I am wondering if a different converter is needed, and I'm not sure (yet) how to access the terminals on the pack, and if there are other considerations with Lithium vs. lead acid.

Just some friendly advice... You should have a fuse or breaker at the beginning of the primary wire where the terminals hook to the battery. This protects the wire in the event of a short from catching on fire. The fuse located on the wiring harness for the voltage reducer is only to protect the reducer but nothing before it. Thanks for the video.

Hey ryan, just got everything delivered today including the new fuse block. My question is how you would do the wiring for the ground with the new fuse block? In the video you run ground from battery to converter harness and add 4way for accessories to plug into. However since the new fuse block has a main ground on it would you run ground from battery to converter harness and run another line from the 4 way to the main ground on the fuse block? Or would you run 2 seperate ground lines from battery to converter and battery to fuse block?

The one I use now that I believe is linked below in the description serves more purposes. One main power input supplies all the fuses and if or when a fuse is to blow the led light will shine to show you which circuit quit. Also it has a ground block built in as well. It just confines more into one location. Might have to mount it somewhere else but it does more in the long run.

This is the older video on the dc converter and since then I have started using a relay. I would suggest using a relay on this one as well. I was installing my dc converter on an 05 precedent and while doing so, I wanted to see if I could get the old light kit to work. There were no wires hooked up to the dash on/switch to the lights. I’m thinking I might be able to just hook them up and get going, I mistakenly took two open wires from the ignition harness instead of headlight kit harness (not smart). I assume I fried something but not sure what. The reverse buzzer doesn’t work now and I get nothing when hitting gas pedal. I don’t see any obvious fuses blown. Do you think the issue is the rectifier diode that needs replaced that runs into the tow/run switch? A different fuse? Ignition panel fried?

If you added a fuse block between the red output wire and the accessories the fuse should blow. Then you can trace each accessory power wire.

Hi Ryan, I ordered 3 of these converters from Amazon and i had to return all of them, though they show in the pictures and the details they were 5 wires, all of the converters i received had only 4 wires on the wire harness with the Blue wire for memory missing , can you tell me where i get a converter with the Blue memory wire and if there's a part # on the converter to make sure i get the correct unit, i need the memory for the radio i'm installing in the cart.

I just looked at the link and not sure why but the blue wire on it has been removed. I've never seen one of these blue converters sold without the blue memory wire. I just found another with the blue wire still on it. I will update that link now but to save you a few clicks this is it - amzn.to/3cQZtzQ

I didn’t do a video on that kit. I wish I would’ve because so many have asked for it. I have another cart I will be building and I have a light kit for it and will do it. Basically your power goes to a fused portion of the distribution block and the ground goes to the ground side.
