There's really no other book like it. There's this hypnotic aspect to its prose, and the totally unabashed surrealism, to the point where it's more like a giant mural than, strictly speaking, a story, with a plot and... all that which is totally fine!! but yeah the Mr. Spitzer-dominated part of the novel drags a bit, like another (supernumerary?? lol) character or two should have been given the focus for that much of the length of the text
