You have to do all you can to protect yourself and your family. Like you said most people out there are fine but that one or two make it tough for the good ones. Keep up the good work. I totally agree with you in keeping boundaries with your viewers. I would probably set even stricter requirements on who you let come to your jobs, shop, ect. So many nuts out there.

Thanks Tim for posting this video. It made me think about what could be problems with a youtube channel. Just dealing with FB marketplace is enough for me as a seller. Few problems as a buyer, but being a seller is much different. I just found your channel and I like it. You are very good with what you are doing. You had my knees knocking watching you take down some trees way up in the air. I also watched the video of you fishing the logs out of the pond. If you ever need to put some more logs in the pond, one thing that I suggest, is to put a round wood screw in one end of each log and string them together with a small cable as you place in pond. I have ran into idiots selling cars and stuff on Kijiji. Just complete liars. One guy asked me to pull the ad for a 67 mustang I had for sale because he said "I just have to have that car!". He said he was just on his way out to rent a car trailer. Called me back and told me he was on his way and then nothing. He is late so I phone him a number of times and it goes directly to voice mail. I am wondering if he was in an accident or what. He is now two hours late so I used my wife's cell phone and call him with it and he answers immediately. I ask him where he is and he tells me he is on his way to Montreal and is surprised as hell that it's me calling. He then says "well I don't believe you have a title for that car". I tell him it is sitting on the desk in front of me and he hangs up. I had told 3 prospective buyers that I am pretty sure its sold and the guy is on his way over now. To many idiots in the world that think this kind of behavior is ok.
Flip side of that,, I craiglisted a boat trailer, nothing special, average price, and a fellow calls me from 2 States away saying he has to have it and wants me to take the ad down,, back and forth a couple times with me doing all but calling him a damn liar but I go ahead and I tell him I will take the ad down when he calls and says leaving out but if he is more than 15 min late the ad goes back up and don't bother showing up. --Still thinking there is no way. Darned if he didn't show up to my not easy to find place as near to the agreed time as to make no difference unless you were counting seconds, hands me the asking price, and drives away with the trailer (after a few mins of me apologizing for being rude to him on the phone) I am still to this day baffled, I would have confidently bet $500 that he had no intention of showing up,, but you just never know.
I'm sorry this happened to you! Here you are, helping us fellow do-it-yourselfers with our farm projects, and this is ugly, undeserving, and hopefully won't happened again. Keep on, Keeping-on! Your real followers appreciate-it.

That's a great idea, get a prepaid phone like from Walmart and use that for the public, your phone you have now keep it private.
Onelonelyfarmer and logger wade have made the location of their business pretty much public. Well I guess, not public but they dont make a point to hide it. Actually now that I think about it i figured out were coton lives, only because I find it fun playing internet detective. I actually dont even rememeber were it was but I could find it again.

Could've been a disaster not just for him eating lead but also each of your family members and you. God I am thankful you aired this and the B.S. he pulled because now everyone now knows and can see why you'd feel a certain way about future meeting new people situations. When i make my videos and even on my facebook pages for my Farm , i never, NEVER show my face on camera. I Always stay behind the camera. There are way too many nutbars crawling around on the face of the Earth. You seem like a real nice guy and there is Evil people out there that prey on people like that. And i mean serious EVIL. I have ran into idiots selling cars and stuff on Kijiji. Just complete liars. One guy asked me to pull the ad for a 67 mustang I had for sale because he said "I just have to have that car!". He said he was just on his way out to rent a car trailer. Called me back and told me he was on his way and then nothing. He is late so I phone him a number of times and it goes directly to voice mail. I am wondering if he was in an accident or what. He is now two hours late so I used my wife's cell phone and call him with it and he answers immediately. I ask him where he is and he tells me he is on his way to Montreal and is surprised as hell that it's me calling. He then says "well I don't believe you have a title for that car". I tell him it is sitting on the desk in front of me and he hangs up. I had told 3 prospective buyers that I am pretty sure its sold and the guy is on his way over now. To many idiots in the world that think this kind of behavior is ok.
Flip side of that,, I craiglisted a boat trailer, nothing special, average price, and a fellow calls me from 2 States away saying he has to have it and wants me to take the ad down,, back and forth a couple times with me doing all but calling him a damn liar but I go ahead and I tell him I will take the ad down when he calls and says leaving out but if he is more than 15 min late the ad goes back up and don't bother showing up. --Still thinking there is no way.
Darned if he didn't show up to my not easy to find place as near to the agreed time as to make no difference unless you were counting seconds, hands me the asking price, and drives away with the trailer (after a few mins of me apologizing for being rude to him on the phone)
I am still to this day baffled, I would have confidently bet $500 that he had no intention of showing up,, but you just never know.
I am typically very good at reading people too so I think I was mad at myself as much as him for missing it. Nice to hear when it all goes well!

That's scary. I'd be so afraid by the time I got home that I'd be checking every corner, behind every door, lookin in every hidey hole. You know, because at the time it happens you don't really know whether or not it was a ruse to get you out of your house or not.
Back in the day, before the internet...we would send out mailer coupons. You wouldn't believe the nuts that would call. Pure lunatics. Screaming about the devil, god, aliens, jfk. It was bizarre.
