Hearing him write his letter to his mom had me giddy. Imagining her emotionally crushed reading that he already has a family and realizing that she’ll never meet her grandchildren made my day.

@toomuchsauce5599 I hope the pain hurts. She took part in emotionally murdering her son. Had she not been so self-righteous and did minimum investigation, she could've still been in OP's life. But nope. She is there, presumably alone in her house. No husband and no kid.

@@FineWine-v4.0How so? I wonder how many times suicide crossed OPs mind after being betrayed by the people who are always supposed to have your back. Would their apologies have meant anything is OP killed himself, and they had to cry to a headstone that could never reply back? This is something so many people fail to realize, that without support our lives can spiral out of control so fast. That after such events we usually give into alcohol to cope, which is the worst decision you can make in a dark time.
Family isn’t just blood ties, family is the bonds you create over a lifetime. And after knowing someone for a lifetime you should know what they’re capable of, someone who is capable of rape is usually very sexist and narcissistic because if you aren’t an act so evil and selfish would eat you alive. So did his parents ever truly know and love him if they think he could do such an unspeakable act.

So, let me get this straight: OP's parents betrayed him in the most egregious of ways by casting him out. So, in return, he rebuilds his life and they finally find out that he didn't do what he was accused of.
So, now both are begging for forgiveness, his father's health takes a turn for the worse, prompting him to beg for his son to come see him in the hospital, in which he dies asking for his son. OP not only declined to go see him on his deathbed but declined to go to his funeral as well.
Sounds like a guy after my own heart.
If I'd met him in real life, I'd buy him a beer. It's refreshing to see fellow men of such strong principles.

Heck yeah! As a Christian, I hate it when people cherry pick verses to say, "See, you must forgive me! Now let me back into your life!" When in reality, Christians are told to sometimes distance oneself from someone who caused them pain. And there are people in the Bible who died with unforgiveness, and they were still called righteous in God's eye.

Too many of these stories, were someone's life is ruined by false accusations and the family think a simple sorry is going to make everything better, no punishments, no atonement, just I'm sorry let's sweep this under the rug. Fuck no if I was in a situation like, I'd tell them download some CP, have someone notify the police. Then once they've had their names dragged through the mud, everything taken from them and everyone they know wanting nothing to do with them, we can talk about how I'm sorry doesn't cut it.

@@Superderpynerd no, sadly, they're not. I cannot speak to the veracity of THIS one, but I have been the one person who helped walk a friend through how to take steps to prove his own innocence. Beginning with going to the police and informing them of the accusation, and asking them to have the accuser go through the proper medical channels. All the while, this poor guy is in a hospital room with a broken face because his father hit him so hard it broke his cheek. Still, he submitted to every test and gave his statement to the police. Because proving something is a lot easier that proving something ISN'T, and the girl was smart enough not to ever admit she was lying (to my knowledge, anyway), nothing ever really resolved. The only thing I can say conclusively is that no criminal charges were ever filed against him. And unlike in fiction, most of the time real life doesn't ever really give you closure.
He filed a successful restraining order against his parents thanks to his father breaking his face, but then the pandemic hit and I haven't heard from him since.

The only time an apology is worth anything is when someone offers it and they had no intention to harm you.
But when a person says something or makes a conscious decision and does something that harms you or your
family or your relationship with them. That is unforgivable. When someone make s decision too make you a
victim. That is a line that cannot be uncrossed. That person has revealed their true self and it is important

I’m all right with everything this person did for the most part. I really wish she talked to his father, but if he wasn’t going to talk to your father, you probably shouldn’t not took the money. I understand how crazy that might’ve been, but you set the tone for what was to come next you made it clear. You didn’t really need nobody I guess to some degree. I understand that you took it because it was the last attempt at your father, trying to be a father, but I just feel you would have been so much more at peace. Had you had just seen your father on his deathbed I just sometimes wonder how would your kids feel at some point in life, knowing that you had a chance to say goodbye at the very least not to just forgive you didn’t have to forgive but to give some end to a horrible situation of someone who did nothing but manipulate and lie I understand you’re not forgiving because at the very least you are right where was the detective work on what she said just believing in somebody with no proof yeah that’s crazy. The only things OP should have done differently, in my opinion:
    1) When his parents tried to reach OP, he answered with silence, because he considered them as part of his past, however this decision didn't gave them closure, and they kept trying to reach him. OP was the last thought of his dying father, and his mother tried multiple times to contact him after father's death, this due to the fact that OP did not emphatised enough the closure with them. When they tried to reach him he should have answered "I appreciate you now realized your mistake, but it's too late. I am no more son of yours, leave me alone. For real". OP claimed that the final letter to his mother gave him closure, so answering both his bio parents would have avoided the following struggle. Leaving the parents in silence did not gave them closure, and they kept trying to reach OP.
    2) The father included OP back in his will, and OP wonders if this was a final attempt to catch up. No shit, Sherlock, the father tries to contact OP until his last dying breath, but it's the money that gives it away, isn't it? After refusing to meet at the hospital, to attend the funeral, OP stll accepts the money. To me, it's hypocritical

OP should have given them closure for ruining his life? That's the worst advice I've ever heard and i have seen stories where friends told someone's wife that they should cheat on their husbands because life is more exciting that way.I would like to add its not hypocritical to get compensation for all the trauma OP's Step mother and Biological Parents caused him

    • @Zephanir
      @Zephanir 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

Fuck those parents. Where was his chance to explain himself when he was accused? Why should his father get his chance at closure when he never got his chance to explain before getting kicked out the family? His father clearly was thinking more with his dick I'm glad he died not getting the closure he want. Why should he get what he wanted when OP never got it. You call it hypocritical? I say his father was far more hypocritical. In fact, he should get majority of the inheritance after all the shit that useless dog put him through. I'm glad he made the decision to never meet them again. The past is the past and their son died when all of them abandoned him. He has a better future and it's much better for him to look towards it rather than the incompetent creatures that identifies themselves as his "parent".
Any parent that chose their new partner/stepwive/husband over their own children due to false allegation deserve 0 sympathy for they have clearly chosen to get rid of them in their life and doesn't deserve them back. He has a better family now and his wife's family probably treat him far better than his own family. Hell, it also saves money and you only have 1 set of grandparents to visit and not needing to care about the other one. His peace is all that matters, not the peace of the people that destroyed his life. Forgiveness belongs to him and him alone and no one else can tell him otherwise especially the perpetrators.

I'm questioning the validity of this story. How old was OP when he was accused? OP made it seem like he was still a minor, yet when he was kicked out, wouldn't that be illegal? (Depending on the country) Plus what about OP's mother made her believe Stepmom? A little history about why the parents split up would be helpful, because how would the mom know about the SA? If the Stepmom was an affair partner, why would the mom believe her? If she hated the Ex, why would she listen to him as well? Context helps. Also if OP wasn't a minor then why was he living with his dad? Wouldn't he be living with his mom if Stepmom was showing signs of not liking him? Was there even a custody arrangement if he was a minor? Plus im pretty sure the cops would have gotten involved by someone, as if SA is so big someone would have reported him. In most SA stories the cops are called. This has a lot of questionable variables....also this story seems to follow the same trend that a lot of similar stories does. Op gets accused, have to leave, meets someone starts a new life, the truth comes out and people begs for forgiveness. A family member gets sick and wants to see OP on his deathbed, and OP refusing to see them.

The op chose his choice and is completely in the right, but in my honest opinion he should have sat down and have a conversation with his parents. Just like how they didnt give him the chance to explain his part of the story he didn't give them that chance either. It was deserved and poetic but its just that when the didn't give him that chance and abandoned him, they had to live with crushing guilt, regret and remorse along with the what ifs. Like what if they let him explain, or what if the just took his side or what if they just took ot to court. Just like how they had to live with thise thoughts so would he. What if i went and talked? What if i just told them what they did to me and how it affected me, would we have reconciled? Maybe or maybe not, hell new know because his father died. I just wouldnt want the op to have to live with the thoughts they will always have with them. Maybe its just me and my im weird but i would want to be the better person, better than they ever were and just give them the chance they never gave me even if it was just hear what they were thinking at that point and what lead to them making that horrible decision or just get full closure so that i wouldnt have to live with the thoughts and feelings on mind and chest. Even if not for any of those reasons id just learn from there mistakes and never fuck up as bad as they did with me. Maybe its just me. Maybe I'm just built different🤷‍♂️.
