I’m a blue collar guy in a town near Lake Ontario who doesn’t own a television…and I knew by November that what was going on in Gaza was an ethnic cleansing. My drinking buddies and some of my neighbors also knew by then. It amazes me that it took months and Aaron Bushnell’s tragic death for so many people to open their eyes

Yeah I’m a middle age woman in rural Australia, and probably around the same time was telling people if they can’t achieve ethnic cleansing they’re going to do a genocide. I can’t say those I spoke to cared - it wasn’t even a matter of a particular prejudice, my family don’t know the difference between an Israeli and a Palestinian. Their main sentiment was ‘as long as they don’t bring it here’. The Palestinian cause is up against both malign geo-strategic brutality and brutal ignorance.

The way Peter beinart described Palestinians exercising their legitimate right to resist against violent occupation as a war crime was absolutely disgusting. Always relegating Palestinians to secondary victims after Israelis is a massive part of the problem. Not only is it factually incorrect, it also buttresses the fallacy of Jewish supremacy.

What bothers me is that I, an old granny who raised 4 children, and 3 of my 7 grands in America's plenty as one of its poor, am able to identify with my Palestinian brothers and sisters and their blessed children including those who grew into adults who joined Hamas as freedom fighters than most of my neighbors who seem to know nothing of real struggle such as homelessness, chronic illness, scraping for ways to feed children and the like and that goes for those same types of folks in other countries. Have they never known loss, fear and helplessness or if they have are they shutoff from their own humanity to recognize it in others who are suffering a genocidal onslaught??? I cannot turn my eyes nor my thoughts away from Gaza and wish I had a real way in which to actually help even one of the children impacted in order for them to experience true recovery. God forgive us all for not finding a way to stop the Zionists before they started to act on their fear, hatred and pain.

Great articulation! I too have been thinking the same. This is the lens I use to look at evey american/non-american I meet or hear. People who have gone through some kind struggle or ostracism will always be on the side of the Palestinians.

……”Zionism is a genocidal ideology”. “It should be dismantled and destroyed “. Professor David Miller, a former Bristol University academic. Israel is a brutal occupying colonialist Power which committed Genocide in 1948, slow incremental genocide before October 7th, now full-blown genocide and ethnic cleansing at many different levels in the Palestinian Territories. It is first and foremost the security of the Palestinians that should be given topmost priority.

This is why Khamas need to be a part of negotiating what happens after. Without that, things will continue no matter what I think.

We have the Israeli Lobby which is very powerful here in the US and in Israel and will prevent much that could be positive from happening here or there.

Exactly. If Palestinians want to guide what happens to them after, then they need to start discussing either publicly or privately now. I know of some who are doing so but I’m not sure that they necessary reflect what the Palestinian public wants.

Very boring and unproductive interview, why not bring a real Gazan, this outsiders opinion means nothing to Gazans or Israelis.
