USA was better at killing the natives so they din't have the same issue? Nope. There IS definitely a current segregation of the indigenous peoples of America, so is there in Canada. It is NOT a gone issue. The difference is that the power imbalance between the groups are vastly different. Indigenous people in North America have next to nothing, and a fair size of their small numbers live in the streets of the big cities, and are often seen as alcoholic, lazy, etc. Which is wrong. I am Canadian.

It was good to see the type of person trying to tug on the DC steering wheel … That is - idealistic with a functioning moral compass , but measured and comfortable With compromise . But . I wanted the gloves to come off - this seemed like a conversation straining to be polite and inoffensive . The reality in the world today IS offensive , and the US role in that is doubly offensive , especially to a US citizen that feels responsible. It felt like too much was left unsaid here in the interest of tact .

In some jurisdictions it is a defence to the charge of murder that the person was provoked. Commonly known in the past as 'battered wife syndrome' (yikes) more known now as the defence of provocation. Some people try and use it as the gay/trans panic defence but in my situation i apply it to people who grew up in in a giant concentration camp. Even Nurit Peled Elhanan whose daughter was killed in a suicide bombing agrees - the responsibility lies at the feet of the occupation. I stand with Norman Finkelstein on this, especially given the level of atrocity propaganda that was used that we now know.

These communities are clearing using a tribal model in their communities which sets the rules and dispenses punishment at the direct discretion of “community leaders aka “tribal elders” Just look up middle eastern tribal system and it breaks down exactly how this works - The police aren’t challenging it, because there is absolutely no working model that allows a state or outside institution to oversee the tribal model ! These are things that should have been taken in to account when taking in refugees! These structures are not compatible with western state model , this is why you most definitely have two teir policing- they will never ever admit to it though because that means they need to fix it and there is no solution they can employ for this, Hense why they allow it to continue operating

To say the Israelis had no plan in November is probably incorrect. As in the past, Palestinian terrorism was used as the basis to build new settlements or advance other objectives. 10-7 was on a scale that allowed establishing "greater Israel". Something that could not be acknowledged. The horror of the world slowed it down. A ceasefire could not be easily broken and with the Americans talking about an agreement, "greater Israel" would be put at risk.... again, motive to be kept secret. If Hamas was indeed destroyed the "security" deception would be countered. Claiming "again, again, and again" served to keep the "existential threat" alive. As if a future letting of the guard down could happen. Tunnels are defensive positions, as are schools and hospitals, not existential threats.

Hamas themselves have repeatedly denied targeting civilians on October 7th and evidence coming out since has supported that. We need a full independent inquiry, which Israel is blocking, but just based on the evidence we have, Hamas’ claim is plausible enough to be considered and many of Israel’s claims have been disproven.

So it did not resort to terrorism, it chose nothing else, building infrastructure for decades designed to start a war and end jewish existence in the levant.

So, the number of dead Israeli civilians has fallen from 1,200 to 800. How many of those civilians were victims of the Hannibal Directive ? How many were reservists, albeit in civilian clothes ? It is the case that every Israeli over 18 has to perform military service, men & women. Perhaps Hamas should have waited for "civilians" to don a uniform & pick up a weapon ? The fog of war or deliberate action ?

  • @BK-uf6qr

Wow, he comes right out of the box with 2 huge fallacies. 1. The conflict is unique. It’s a conflict involving religious holy land, some claimed by both. 2. Its coverage inversely outsizes that of other conflcits compared to the land involved and population; 3. The UN was instrumental in the creation of the initial boundaries; 4. The conflict began in earnest ever since the UN created Israel. Next your wrong about Hamas. The argument that Hamas uses terrorism as a tool and thus they are not inherently “evil” is as odd as it is a misstatement of the issue. Terrorism is a tool of force implemented by killing your opponent without a definable set of rules. Terrorism is abhorrent to a civilized society. Civilization has slowly refined itself over the centuries in many ways. One of which is to resolve conflict between humans without force by using the adherence to rules. Bluntly, terrorism is getting your way through murder, the ultimate price. Terrorism, in my opinion, is also uncivilized, as it kills through betrayal and deceit. It takes advantage of civilization by pretending to be part of it to disguise itself and then kill. Terrorism also preys upon the innocent including those it claims to be fighting for. How could anyone accept a terroristic group into civilization by this method. Are we to accept terrorism as just another tool of warfare? The people who speak so highly of Hamas have also used the claim of war crime against others. Even in civilization up to this point war happens. But even in that awful act rules are set up. Geneva conventions. Terrorists abide by no set of rules, not even Geneva conventions. Nothing. I would have a more open ear towards their goals if they weren’t terrorists. And even tho they are terrorists, I still think about the abstract principles of the right and wrong the underpins their fight. But I cannot nor will I ever support a group who lacks basic civility. Who is so selfish as to put their wants above societies basic norms. Killing, kidnapping and other atrocities because a group is upset they aren’t getting their way is a disgusting display of inhumanity.

President Biden has been so good on most other issues, but he has truly an uncritical, underdeveloped, and enabling view of what is truly going on in Gaza. It makes me wonder, when he says he's a Zionist, if he backs the extreme right wing Israeli government's goal of taking over all of the Palestinian lands for a "Greater Israel," not unlike a "Greater Serbia" many years ago. He seems totally blind to the two million Gazans who inhabit the land and are trapped in a bomb pit with nowhere to go.

@@GardenerGeorge You are right, it just that it would take a very long time to detail all their lies. I have done this in Peter's other podcusts only to find them all deleted! But will attempt a bit here as I find your comment very fair: Lie Nm 1: The Jews are occupiers and oppressors under a system of apartheid. the land of Israel is the Jews' ancestral home. No other nation had ever claimed it as its homeland and Jerusalem similarly has never been the capital of any other nation. There have been a number of invaders who colonised the land, such as the Romans, the Greeks, the Persians and from 1517-1917 the Ottoman Muslim Turks. Palestine was a province of no special value to anyone, other than Jerusalem for the crusaders and inquisitors and the Al Aqca mosque, built over the ruins of the second Jewish Temple, for the islamists. The Islamists conquered the Jews' land from Byzantines (or Mamluks,?) in 634 as a part of their vast conquests of 7th-8th century AD, reaching China to the east, Spain to the west and usurping vast swaths of northern Africa. They plundered, raped, converted by the sword (hence their vast numbers) and appropriated culture and treasures of the indigenous peoples. This was their golden age to which they strive to return. So they are the real colonialists of this land. Lie 2: Who are the Palestinians? They had no history prior to the Jews' return to their land about 140 years ago (although there was always a Jewish settlement in the land and since mid 19th century Jerusalem's inhabitants were mostly Jewish. Palestinians = descendants of 7th century AD colonisers (about 30%) + descendants of late 19th early 20th century newcomers/economic migrants from muslim lands colonised by the army of Mohammad back in 7-8th century AD: Armenia, Albenia, Algeria, Afghanistan, Bosnia, Chechnia, Circassia, Egypt, Greece, Italy, Iraq, Iran (Persia), Lybia, Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Yemen and a few others (about 70%). So they are a mixture of races, ethnicities etc. They don't intermarry and live by tribal norms (which prevail over Quranic ones). They were never a nation, never a people but largely muslims. Israel built them universities in the West Bank and while Israeli an Israeli man enrols in the army after a 3-year service in the army - a Palestinian man starts his second university degree. They enjoy full rights and are equal under the law. So whereas they have every right to continue living in the land they have no right to a state. They engage in terror which Israel never initiates - only retaliates or prevents it. there are 22 Muslim countries/states in the Middle East but only one Jewish one. Israel's beginnings go back almost 4 thousand years ago. The Jews were expelled (and brutally murdered) by the Romans who pursued their colonial aspirations. Jews rebelled against them and got a rough treatment, back in 1st century AD (time of Jesus, who was an orthodox Jewish Rabbi; it isn't Jesus who established Christianity but Paul...). The land of Israel was named "Palestine" by the Romans, after the Jews' bitter enemies the Philistines, to annoy the rebelling Jews. The Jews right to the land is therefore: a) historical (a 1000 year prsence with kings, courts, judges, prophets etc etc - hundreds of famous personalities, etc). It is a prescribed-in-the-Bible land - WITHOUT ANY ASPIRATIONS OF EXPANSION, RULE OVER THE WORLD OR USURPING ANY OTHER PART OF THE WORLD, UNLIKE THE ISLAMISTS WHOSE VERY RAISON D'ETRE IS IMPERIALSTIC, COLONIALIST, SUPREMACIST AND SUPERSSESSIONIST. b) Legal: After the Allies vanquished the Ottoman empire in 1917/8 they found themselves in possession of lands which needed to be administered. The mandate for Palestine was given to the British. At that time the land was very sparsely populated, was desolate, malaria-ridden etc. Testimonies from that time confirm this. Once the emigrants started coming in under the British rule their numbers swelled, but in 1948 there were roughly 1.6 million in Israel and Jordan combined, that is an area a third of the United Kingdom!). It was decided in 1920 in San Remo, Italy, to give Palestine to the Jews who helped in the war effort (Weitzman, the inventor of acetone, especially) - to fulfill the Balfour declaration. Then in 1922 British tricked the League of Nations and the Jews got only 23% of Palestine - from the river to the sea, including Gaza, the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) with the rest 77% of Palestine going to a completely new entity: the Hashemites from the Hijaz province in Saudi Arabia, who also helped in the war effort. This is today's Jordan. Jordan was allocated especially for the Arabs of Palestine, for their self-determination there. But they want Israel because the Jews have it and because of a dictum of dar al Islam which means a land once conquered by Muslims is Muslim in perpetuity. They cannot get back Spain (right now) but israel is sorrounded by Muslim countries, all of them adherents to the Quranic tenets and the Hadith. Sorry, but must go. ,So much more to say. The world os full of lies in these two of the podcast are liars par excellence. Learn history. Will be happy to answer any further questions. Sorry for the typos, no time to check and correct. I have given here just a tiny explanation of the conflict. Best wishes.

There doesn't seem a Palestinian appreciation for the power of narrative. For example Tlaib, in a unique position to understand, let it stand that the Palestinian motive was annihilation.... with the silent OK of other elites.... wounding the aspirations of the Palestinian people.

Add it to the other magnificent contributions of Palestinians to world culture: Yasser Arafat and Bella Hadid.

Lie at 5:18. Israel has affirmative action for Arabs, and education is not segregated.

The USAmerican Federal government, the people and country, did NOT kill all of the native indigenous peoples. Millions are very alike. Navajo code talkers helped defeat The Empire of Japan of The Second World War WW-2. Furthermore, plenty of Native indigenous peoples of North America and South America, identify with Israel. Arabist empire colonial settlers are NOT native indigenous people of Zion Judaean Hebrew Israel. PalestineArabs are NOT native indigenous people of Zion Judaean Hebrew Israel. Jewish Judaeaic Judaean Judahite people are native indigenous people of Zion Judaean Hebrew Israel.. Genetics 🧬, prooves that Zion Judaean Hebrew Israel is NOT separate from Jewish people of Judaea. PalestineArabs are on balance, a plurality of Arabian PeninsulaArab patrimony. That does NOT mean that PalestineArabs are totally separate from Zion Judaean Hebrew Israel However, the distinct margin of difference, defines the plurality of PalestineArab genetics 🧬,vas Arabian PeninsulaArab patrimony. Your Hanan Ashwari or how ever she pells her name, she is a racist. It is really amazing that you still regard her as legitimate. That's precious. You are NOT serious. Your only hope is dissidents against the totality of PalestineArab kkkkansmen. You are lucky I am NOT the Israeli prime minister. You are NOT serious. You are racist.

You have a lot of anger and certainty despite the holes in your logic and information . The pre 1492 Native American population has been projected at 50-112 million . Current population depending how you count is 3-8m. My ancestors in Western PA killed plenty of Native Americans . As for the subject at hand you seem to resort to genetics for all your legitimacy . 1) read Shlomo Sand 2) ancient claims are worthless . To go back to your Native American argument , should we evict all inhabitants of Manhattan so the Iroquois can return to their ancestral homelands? And that was only six hundred years ago .

You have a whole bunch of nerve, talking about genocide. Your PalestineArab kkkkansmens' manifesto, is The Palestine Liberation Organization Charter-PLO Covenant. That PLO Covenant, The Palestine Liberation Organization Charter, says PalestineArabs are NOT separate from The Arab Nation. That includes the totality of all Arab peoples. That Arab Nation, includes the totality of all Arab peoples. That makes all Arab peoples, part of one Arab Nation. Furthermore, The Palestine Liberation Organization Charter-PLO Covenant says PalestineArabs are The Vanguard of Arabist activism. That makes PalestineArab activism, the vanguard of Arabist empire colonial settler occupation over North Africa and Southwest Asia -Mideast nations. That is manifest in the Arabist empire, current slavery over North Africa. That goes hand in hand with The PalestineArab vanguard of Arabist empire gassing of The Kurdistanis under Arabism's imperial occupation. That goes hand in hand with The PalestineArab vanguard of Arabist empire colonial settler destruction of native indigenous Maronite Lebanese. You should know that AramoCanaanite language, includes Aramaic and Canaanite. Canaanite includes Judaeao-Canaanite Hebrew and Phonecian Punic Lebonese Canaanite. Maronites still use Aramaic for Maronite Lebanese cultural purposes. That's just scratching the surface.
