    Thank you for the informative video, my Dr wants me to get one and I've been so anxious. This helped ease my mind a little. I live the idea of it I just wasn't sure I was ready.... still going to do more research but you have given me some excellent insight.

    Yes I agree I’m being pushed for medical genetics testing using 23andme but I much rather use myDNA, dante Labs or illumina to start making genetics testing for medical purposes plus using illuminate instead of non medical DNA testing kits for medical purposes. Great episode. I love it

      I agree, I have a rare genetic condition and I’d rather that my results go towards furthering research than making companies rich.

    Would have liked to hear what the genetic counselling cost as it appeared essential to also pay for in addition to the test costs.

    I am thinking of taking a diet and exercise DNA test. What do you think about these? And dies it make a difference for these kinds of test whether I do the "normal" test or the sequence genome test?

    Can one send his/her sample (say saliva) to the DND testing company anonymously (i.e. without mentioning any personal data), so that the data reliability provided by the company might be increased a little bit ?

      I think it's possible but they would still own the data from which any person is identifiable.

      It very much depends on the particular genetic test and the company behind it.

      @@SunShineU-dl9or RH negative blood is done by a very simple reagent test in almost every hospital in the country. It’s a very basic test that doesn’t not require a machine.

      @@SunShineU-dl9or It’s not black and white. Technically you could find out through PCR, but that would be a waste of time and money. Most places have reagents that can tell you in ten mins if a person is RH negative. So short answer is yes and no.

      Genetic counselling is only worth it if you have been tested for genetic disorders as the outcome can have quite an impact.
