    I do HVAC for a living. I was hoping to learn something but now I feel like I'll do worse at my job after watching this.
    Preparation is key. keep your heat at the pipe first then move it to the shoulder of the fitting to allow for CAPILLARY ACTION.

    "Stay Clean" flux and "Stay Bright 8" is the way to solder refrigeration

    I was always told that you don’t want it to get cherry red, I couldn’t imagine getting a txv cherry red you would damage the valve

      In my opinion with decades of experience, you are completely correct. We are all guilty of getting the copper cherry at times but that kind of temp will anneal the copper to the point where it is probably weaker than the braze. Also yeah you will be changing a tx more than once if you get it that hot.
