Fire Safety with ABB ACH580
Fire safety in commercial buildings demands more than just compliance-it requires reliable and responsive systems that protect occupants effectively. In this video, we walk through the essentials of controlling fire systems using the ABB ACH 580 drive, focusing on critical areas like stairwell and elevator pressurization. You’ll learn about the key role of stairwell pressurization fans, pressure transducers, and how these components work together to maintain safe evacuation paths during a fire event. We also address the impact of the 2012 Disabilities Act on building fire safety, ensuring technicians understand both the technical and regulatory dimensions of their work.
One crucial takeaway: getting your fire contractor involved early in the project can make all the difference in seamless integration, code compliance, and ultimately, occupant safety. For HVAC pros, mastering the setup and troubleshooting of these systems is essential. Tune in to gain practical insights and real-world guidance on using the ACH580 drive to build a safer, compliant environment.

      Google "Garner vs GPS" for more info As of September 27, 2024, the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware issued a memorandum opinion addressing the case. In the class-action lawsuit against Global Plasma Solutions (GPS), the court granted summary judgment in favor of GPS on two of the plaintiff's fraud theories: 1) Elimination of COVID-19: The claim that GPS's ionizers could eliminate COVID-19. 2) Absence of Harmful Byproducts: The assertion that the ionizers do not emit harmful byproducts. The remaining fraud theory that survived summary judgment was: 3) Independent Testing: The allegation that GPS misrepresented its ionizers as being independently tested. The court declined to certify this remaining claim as a class action, citing concerns that individual issues would predominate and that the plaintiff would not serve as a typical or adequate class representative.

    Working in a puddle of contaminated oil is not professional imo. Disassemble, clean, re-assemble on clean surface. *When to change oil: 1) I pull my a short vac with _old_ oil in the pump since it will get contaminated quickly anyway. Break vacuum with Refrigerant. Drain and fresh oil. 2) Pull a long vac (depends on the size of the system and contamination but, about 15 mins per lb of refrigerant). Break vacuum with Refrigerant. Drain and fresh oil. 3) Pull another long vacuum using micron gauge. Remove hose from vacuum pump (so no need to do the ""shut-down procedure shown in this video). Feed liquid into the high side using scale. 4) If there was a Burn-Out, I put in fresh oil and run 5-10 minutes to clean the pump. If not, I leave the oil in for next "short vac". But always fresh oil for long term storage. Also. I always break the vacuum on the high side and start my vac on the low side to pull moisture through the system in one direction. After 5-10 minutes I open the high side. I've used pumps for many years with no failures. Charge the oil to the customer.

    Sooooo we have r32 now and we have to make something different right? American nickel heads at work. So I have to put a left hand adapter to the tank and then attach my right thread hoses on so when I tight it up the adapter will get a little lose so I can lose some Freon right? Got it. And the solution for the higher pressure of 32 vs 410 @100f degrees instead of making the cylinder a litle heavier we got a relief valve so as if I drive and it goes off blowing in the truck moving around it will stop right? No possibility of defects on the valves either. And…….we blame Chinese products because ours are so thoughtful? Also you didn’t mention about the single chemical if we can charge vapor instead liquid. But that is too much right? Thank god I am old and retired so I wouldn’t have to live among the people that come with these ideas.

    The ozone depletion potential involving the phase out of refrigerants like R11 and 12 was very Justified. All this global warming potential now with these refrigerants is a bunch of bull shit. The industry did a great job on phasing out the harmful refrigerants and now they got to find some other reason to control and manipulate the industry.

    So on a hot day when your r32 is burping in the van do I need to purge my van (enclosed space) with air before lighting a cigarette and driving home? Is the r32 refrigerant scented? I don’t smoke. Some of My fellow techs smoke though. 20+ year ago when I was an apprentice r22 was supposed to be LONG GONE by now, guess what, depending on the application and what’s going to be the best solution, if r22 is the best option I’ll go down to the supply house and buy as much as I need.

    • @TaylorFergusonMRG
      @TaylorFergusonMRG 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @robertAWA while R32 is considered flammable, it takes a particularly narrow range of concentration to be within range of ignition and more energy to ignite than one might expect. While the risk of ignition is much lower than that of Gas or Acetylene, it is recommended to not produce an open flame near a flammable gas.
