I don't think any current artists would handled a situation like that, the way the manics did, I have alot of respect for that.

:( Bless them, the way they have been regarding their friend's disapperance is dignified, I have the utmost respect for them

I really feel for them and Richey's family. Having a loved one disappear is heart wrenching enough let alone dealing with it in the public eye. And it's quite nice that Nicky doesn't believe for a second that Richey is dead. I really hope he isn't too, and that he us happy where ever he is x x

Sean looks devastated, he and Richie were in the same class at school, years later they were playing to thousands of people together. Must have been difficult for them to carry on. Believe they asked his parents and they said keep going. That gig at Maine Rd was amazing, Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene and the Manics!!! What a line up

What a set of insensitive questions, I appreciate that Richey would have to have been mentioned in the interview but there are ways and means of going about it. I thought asking about whether he'd come back into the band was a particular low point in the interview. Kudos to the band for their responses.

I went to that 1996 Oasis gig as a 17 year old, first big gig for me and I didn't know the Manics that well at the time, but knew La Tristesse Durera when they started playing it - It sounded amazing and it's one of those memories I'll never forget, such a great atmosphere. They should of been headlining really but it was a brilliant lineup anyway, would love to find some more footage of it.

Great upload. I've never seen this before, really good stuff, I felt sorry for them having to talk about Richey, back then they were obviously still very upset about it, you can tell it from Sean especially :( Nice to see a few seconds of live footage from this gig also at the end. Thanks!

Insensitive line of questions, can tell James is getting pretty agitated. They were so dignified through the entire ordeal in how they spoke about Richey.

I saw this video when I was really into the Manics in 2010 but I only just now realize how insensitive the questions are. The interviewer just won't let it sit will he? You can tell James is getting frustrated and he even tries to draw Sean in at the end when he probably would rather leave the others to talk. I like what Nicky says at the end

James and Nicky are right. The precocious living through Richey and his self-inflicted actions is disgusting, as is thinking his bandmates don't know him better than the cult that worships him. Part of me thinks that Richey was just as irked about those "fans" too.

    Tragic :(
Wire reminds me of Rufus Wainwright btw.
