Good idea. Every time you tell people to invest where you live first, especially in better economies, Ugandans don’t want to hear that but most don’t even plan to come back home but spend loads of money to build in Uganda. It’s partly to do with pressure we put on ourselves because in Uganda people say things like ‘talina kyeyekoledde’ but why build in Uganda when I can mortgage in U.K. and get a property that accrues value as opposed to building in Uganda which I don’t visit often. If it’s land or property that makes money then yes but just building a house, not a good idea. This is just my opinion.
@@marymmuka U have a good point however land is still available at a reasonable price in Uganda, me personally i decided to build rentals instead of a big home, if i bought a house in the UK I would have been stuck with a 25 year mortgage , it can be exhausting working overtime to pay it off but instead I was able to build some apartments in UG and i get a good return on investment. Anyway people have different dreams and goals but that's just my opinion.
@@ronniewamala5768 Exactly my point when I said ‘If it’s land or property that makes money…..’. Rentals do bring returns so you’re getting your money worth. It’s the big residential homes that have to be sitting empty whilst their owners toil away in diaspora paying to maintain them until they get time to go back. Interesting as well some build away from town and even when they go back for holidays, they rent apartments in town and will only go to visit this house.
@@ronniewamala5768 Also forgot to ask, how did your rentals fair in the lockdown? So you have like a management company back home? That a good investment but worries are with no one down there to monitor, you can lose income and if left with relatives sometimes they just use it for themselves and the whole investment idea goes out of the window.
@@marymmuka I totally agree with you, it doesn't make sense for anyone abroad to build a home in UG especially if your only going to stay there for a few months in a year, i think if one even considers building in UG as an option, it's better to build some rental units, this way you kill two birds with one stone, you have a unit reserved for you to stay when you visit and other units generating income every month rather than building a home and paying maintenance bills and family members back home enjoy it while your abroad toiling away as you mentioned.
What's Wrong with working for Elders? Who will never get old or sick? Everyone at a certain point will need help once you get sick, old or disabled.Thats why developed countries respect their healthcare system and good pay for Nurses, Doctors , supportworkers .
As long as you have a permanent job, you can get a loan, from the bank , the get a home you just arrange how you can pay each month, depending on the down payment
I like her openness! Working with the elderly is not an issue but what you’ve achieved is what matters.
