- White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany clashed with reporters Thursday during a media briefing over President Trump’s deflection to condemn white supremacy during the first presidential debate on Tuesday.
Asked repeatedly for a definitive statement on whether Trump denounces white supremacy and other groups that espouse it by Fox News reporter John Roberts, McEnany read out several quotes from the past.
"He has condemned white supremacy more than any other president in modern history" she said during the briefing.
When asked further about the Proud Boys, McEnany said the president told them to "stand down" and "stand back."
She also called out the media for "turning a blind eye to Antifa" saying they are not a "myth" or an "idea."

Because he only pandered, in 2016, even though I opposed him, I argued he might not be racist. The Trump apartment lawsuit showed racism, but that might have just been his father. A number of statements attributed to Donald Trump were racist, however, those were all single sourced.
However, saying, Mexico is sending us their worst, and "they're rapists and murderers," *is* racist. First Mexico isn't sending us their worst, and second, that's a mischaracterization. Someone could write that U.S. service members are rapists and murderers, and that's literally true the same way that Mexicans are those things - only that would a misrepresentation of the U.S. military.
What finally made it obvious Trump was racist was when Michael Cohen testified he was definitely racist.
Then, his own niece, who is a former psychology professor and practicing therapist wrote that Donald Trump was racist. She's known him her entire life.
So, sure, he said it, *after* saying the wrong thing. Again, racists know that the public doesn't support them. They took Trump's initial refusal to reject David Duke as support, and they took his leading comments that way.
Again, for the first time in over 50 years, racists marched openly in large numbers under the Trump administration.

In 2016 on national television in an interview with Jake Tapper, Donald Trump refused to reject the support of David Duke, *even *after being told that David Duke was a member of the KKK, and a white supremacist.
Donald Trump said he didn't know David Duke, or what a "white supremacist" was, or what the KKK is.
Days later, only after public outrage, he then rejected David Duke.
Racists know that the vast majority of people don't support them, so they took Trump's initial refusal to reject David Duke as support. This was evident from David Duke's Twitter posts on Donald Trump's Twitter timeline, and that for the first time in fifty years, in 2017, racists marched in the streets in great numbers, holding swastikas and chanting antisemitic slogans.
Oh, and about a decade earlier, Donald Trump had rejected David Duke for being in the KKK, so he definitely knew who he was. He didn't want to lose the votes of racists.

She and Trump had to say a yes or no... not a, "sure I have always denounced any form of that," then turns around and acknowledges those of hate groups having committed crimes as, "good guys." and then he SPECIFICALLY acknowledge the hate group, the "Proud Boys." It's not just about his directly acknowledging it specifically but about acknowledging his BEHAVIORS AND ACTIONS the past 3+ years that have proven otherwise as racist as any 10-year-old can tell, thus why he keeps getting called on his crap DAY IN AND DAY OUT. Reporters should mention also how his ceasing racial sensitivity training also is prejudiced, in and of itself. So his saying he's (ambiguously/in-definitively) against it on the one hand, but done the opposite with re: to never supporting the BLM ideology, nor any of those victims/families of police brutality, his said policies against racial sensitivity training for government institutions, his handling of protests, treatment of minority workers of his properties, etc., prove otherwise. He has been recently pressured into doing his token deeds... eg. releasing a former female African-American prisoner via pardon, and his just (in the nick of time... ) last week claimed statement that the KKK should be prosecuted and lynching should be a hate crime come just as his campaign for re-election makes its final lap (and the brown and black votes are needed)... so very typical, predictable and common means of pandering which most can see through the pathetic disingenuine pandering out of desperation. It's unfortunate that the only ones he convinces of the reason for his somehow sudden, enlightenment to racism and its cause are his followers.
In the U.S., Antifa is an ideology/political movement against fascism and racism. It's not an actual organized terrorist, nor hate group. However the Right and Trump & Co. historically have used the term trying to paint Muslims and now protestors as belonging to Antifa. Thus they have tried to pass laws to label Antifa as an organized terrorist group, so in tern they can prosecute protesters. However it's been proven that those ascribing to the Antifa movement have not contributed to any murders. Meanwhile their Right-wing, "good guys," have contributed to close to 900+ murders since the mid 90's, and recent of which occurred during Trumps, MAGA watch. This includes, most recently Trumps support of Kyle Rittenhouse, the Kenosha shooter who's actions Trump supported in a tweet he liked where Rittenhouses' deadly acts were applauded.

I don't really see how much more clear Trump could make his stance on racism. He's denounced white supremacy on several occasions. He was irritated at the debate that they wanted him to denounce it again, because it was so appalling that the democrats were trying to flip the issue and make it a Proud Boy problem when it's clearly a radical left issue.

Kayleigh is condescending, but she does it with logical reasoning and direct quotes in full context. These mainstream news reporters are also condescending, but there's very little logic or full context - they just want listeners to get emotionally charged which blurs the logic and reasoning.
It's one of the reasons I don't think mainstream news has the people's best interest in mind. For me, I'm trying to maintain some self control when I read emotionally-charged headlines so that I can actually reason through the issues. By doing that, it's helped me pay better attention of what mainstream news chooses to NOT report on. There are a lot of shady things going on in the world that get no attention - I think much of the news cannot be trusted and has ulterior motives beyond revealing truth and exposing advances against my freedom.

They are not the threat in today's landscape. But for some reason, saying "I denounce white supremacy" makes Trump fluster, and Kayleigh couldn't even say it herself.
