Love Boy George- I grew up in the glory days of MTV and I’m really glad he made it through so well.
Me too 😊
Right?! He looks lovely 🌹 😍
Amen to that, he has the type of personality you just love, to listen to his life story's..♥️💙💛
Me too.
Grew up in the glory days of the 80's in high school and MTV.
We wanted to look like him.
Love Boy George and his music 🎧
George looks fabulous
This revelation about Boy George's family history is sad yet intriguing at the same time. I love Boy George 💖
Yes! Could watch these stories all the time. Even from non celebrities. So interesting
8:06 have to disagree. Young children and with sick parents in those times probably couldn’t even feed their children
Boy George looks so good for his age now. Love him and his songs. He is a music icon of the 80s which is the most wonderful era for music. ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊
Wow. Beautiful, and sad story. Irish history. My great uncle was also part of the movement. He was beaten to a pulp and was never right after. Ireland has great historians. George is gorgeous. Love his laughter! Thank you for sharing the story. A tribute to all those lost family members especially to the women who rose up and fought for their beloved country.
George. Am sorry for your grandma hardships as a child.
Who is Audun Carlsen?
What do you mean he was never right after, in what sense. Because you exist don't you?
I once read a book called Suffer The Little Children which told the story of a young girl raised by the nuns. What screamed through her writing was the clarity of fact that her whole childhood, from the moment she entered that place, was totally devoid of any bit of physical or emotional warmth nor any bit of physical or emotional comfort. Yet I have seen pictures of dormitory of the time. Rows and rows of little girls kneeling next to their very own bed with it's very own clean sheets, saying their prayers before bedtime. It all look rather charming. And you can't argue that a clean bed all to one's self, surrounded by 'good little girls' as playmates etc seems, on paper, idyllic. But reading of this little girls day to day experience of it tells me you are absolutely right, they are better off with the love of their perants in their own home.
Bridget was taken and placed in the Industrial school in 1919, at age of 6. Her parents died in 1922 and 1926. She would have been aged 9 and 13 years old. At 13, she may not have got an opportunity to go to the industrial school but she would have been orphaned at age 13. I wonder what happened to her siblings when their father died in 1926?
Yes, I was wondering what happened to her siblings too 😕 very sad.
I love him and his music. God bless him and his family. Good to see this. Thank you.
Oh how I loved Boy George! I'm so Happy to see him looking good! Sad family story.
Love Boy George and so pleased to see him looking so well. A huge talent who got through those bad years.
So glad you found your roots, your granmother be so proud of you,you have done her name well, miss your singing by the way
During lockdown garry Barlow was doing duets on youtube, one of em was with boy George, if you haven't seen it watch it, absolute legend!
George has the most beautiful eyes!
you mean his eye lash extensions, l0l
I love boy George for his absolute kind heart and I so much agree with him that is as long as you’re with the people who you love and love you and they are trying to figure it out. No one has the right to remove your child from you no one has the right to say that and if it’s noon when this poor little child was removed from her mama and daddy, it probably made them very sad for which made them have sickness.
That's easy to say in hindsight but you font know the circumstances and what could of been the outcome had she not been taken
He is still soooo beautiful!
George is a lovely guy glad he's doing so well
Love Boy George always and thankful we had his voice and music into the 90s.
He did the soundtrack for the crying game as well, love that film
So sad 😢 love you longtime George. Thank you for sharing ❤ 🇨🇦
Hi Boy George glad your finding out about your family history. I wanna find out more of my family history. Best of luck. Love you , your music
Omg, Boy George, beautiful as always, so glad he still with us, I mean, he and Madonna are the only living giants of their era , and what an era.. meanwhile, when one decides to dig up the past, be prepared for anything, very sad details, 🙏🌈⚘️
Thank you for sharing your family history I enjoy your work and wish the best for you. Love from Sherman Oaks 💙
George is so Gorgeous, I’ve met him a few times over the years, been huge fan since the beginning, lucky to have seen Culture Club live a few months ago again ☺️ He is such a beautiful soul 💙 Love him 💙
George is the original unique Star 💫 … ❤️🇮🇪
We don’t know anything about my husbands grandad except he was picked up in Paisley Scotland and given to a family in the Highlands.
How heartbreaking. Love Boy George....great person! Love from 1984😊
There is more than enough in the world for everyone, but for some reason, people keep overlooking that fact.
I enjoyed this a lot. So beautiful to honor them. I hope somehow they knew
That’s a sad and an interesting story. Thank you for sharing the story George and you are looking good. I am one of your fans. ❤️❤️❤️
Boy George is awesomely gifted and I've been in love with him for many years now. ❤❤
I want to be his baby mama but I'm too old now. ❤❤
Alot of people and even family members, don't care about what happened to their, own family members back in the day's, It Nice to see people that do, Such As The Boy, ♥️ And myself, and I don't speak for the rest of my family!

Born in the 70s and grew up in the MTV era in the 80s and Culture Club was a big part of my family music listening. I still listen to Boy George. Mistake #3 is still my cut!!! 🫶🏽💃🏽👍🏽

He’s a strapping handsome man. So glad he’s doing well.
I just love Boy George❤❤❤
Thank you for sharing love you Boy George how sad the mortality rate as so high, so devastatingly sad love from 🇦🇺❤🙏❤
My mom and her siblings taken away by the state after their father died and their mother was lost in her mind do to that loss. They would have been better with family or their mother letting an older couple adopt them all when they met the children at the children’s farm home the asked but my great grandmother said no. This happened in the 1930’s I just thank God my dad fell in love with my mom while delivering flowers to during a surgery for the people she work for now I can say it was all in Gods plan
Gosh, I grew up listening to Boy George's music❤❤he looks so so good💞I didn't recognize him. Family history, many have that sad history😢 sending much love from South Africa ❤
Very touching very sad. Very similar to a lot of people of those times. 😢
I am so sorry. It's amazing that any of us exist at all. Love to you Boy George and the truth sayers.
She has such a lovely speaking voice.
Love boy george music number one song hits love it nailed it 100 perfect voice
Im from ireland it was a hard life growing up over but even harder coming to uk and growing up
Such a sad thing to discover 😭, so many aweful things happened in past years that we will never know, heartbreaking so sorry George, stay strong ❤❤🙏
They did this to native Americans as well. Drug them off to “schools”. My grandmother was under 3.😢😢😢😢
Yes true my family are Choctaw nation
It hasn't gotten any better, Tulsa is our equivalent to bygone days
What a devastating family history to find. I had no idea that this is how people lived in Dublin 100 years ago.
Love George, such a decent nice guy.. Ireland was awful but many places were as bad. Thanks for sharing.
Just think … one date mentioned 1915 when looking through the official papers. 109 years later puts us here now. No wonder all the generationally trauma is so apparent world wide… as now there is a huge proportion of people who don’t seem to realise how lucky they are if they are able to get up in the morning , have a reasonable luck of health and success…. And yet our world is leaning towards so many mental health issues. 100 years guys… how do it managed to get to this place …. We have some of the worlds best minds and technology and machinery. I know suffering and hard times can build grit and resilience…. But too much can completely break a person and society. What are we missing here?
Love you Boy George ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The streets were these children's playground just like NYC. It's so sad his grandmother was picked up wandering around on the street.
Always loved Boy George ❤️👍
Boy george is a national treasure with a very interesting history. My great nan was born 1906 in clapham. Its important to remember where we came from
My poor Granny grew up in Belfast in poverty, it never left her. Even though she migrated to Australia after WW2 and had all she could need, she watched every penny and still thought 5c had value. She never lost her accent. Miserable cow but we loved her.
Beautiful man. Spectacular voice! ❤❤❤
I love boy George
Bless you Boy George!
Every family has a sad story. Poor, sad times in history. No one is special from disaster, heartache and misery.
I saw him in a interview for the first time
He’s awesome!!!!!
12 years old and played them all the time ❤❤
It's not hard to understand why the children was outside/ in the streets. I think the streets was like a part of their home. Life was really hard for so many people back then.
Ah, so sad, gave me tears welling up in my eyes. Can only hope that life wasn't too bad for Bridget when she was taken into care.
Boy George you have beautiful eyes
Can I just say.... BOY GEORGE IS SO HANDSOME INDEED.
how heartbreaking ❤
So sorry George.noy just seeing this today but since articles i read said about your family back in the 1980's 😘
I love the eye makeup, beautiful eyes.
The tenements where still around in the 70s
It’s fully amazing how much our ancestors have been through their lives to survive in our country’s even my family survived the second world war to immigrate to Canada, with only the clothes they wore as the bombing was ever present getting even as the boat left the harbour to get to Canada.
Where's the rest to watch it? Amazing story...I'm wondering...was Ireland independent at this time? Or part of the UK?
Part of the uk. Didn’t become independent until 1921
Seems to me that Boy George’s grandmother would have likely ended up in industrial schools anyway, albeit a little later, given that her parents died when she was still quite young.
I wonder where they got the idea for the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!?
Hi George I loved the Irish rebel songs they touched my sole ❤
Loved his music when he was in culture club ❤
Norwegian child protective services a century later: "hold my beer."
❤ to the family.
Like boy george what an interesting story
At 44 i finally know He was saying Karma karma chameleon..i always thought it was comma comma comma to me😅😂😂 lea
That's so very tragic and cruel what happened to his grandma😔😭😭😭
Boy George is so wrapped in his own generaton that he cannot see the truth, the reality is that his grandmonther like many children of the Dublin slums, may not have even survived had she been left with her family, if her father could not work, at first it would be that he was not picked as he looked frail, and then he would get to where he could not physically work, they may have all starved, or got sick through poor nourishment and then died. The industrial schools were dired and a blot on Irish history, but without them Boy George might not be here.
i love george as well big fan 😍
Legend, such a cool dude.
So desperately sad 😔
Goodness, she could have just been out playing and getting some fresh air.
Thanks for sharing!
Without his usual styling he has a handsome face never noticed
My brother looks heaps like boy George just without the makeup !
I would have much rather a child be given food, shelter and a chance to survive than to live like that. Many children died from malnutrition and disease back then. George needs to understand that he is here because she was removed from the home.
😅 the people had it so hard back then so sad
So heartbreaking ❤️🩹
We can see why popular People's Uprisings were so much in the fabric of the working classes in Ireland and the whole of Europe in the early Twentieth Century ...
3:14 hard to believe someone this youthful looking was huge in the charts 40 years ago. Lol!
Very sad ❤😢
Hi can you please make the videos available to us? please?
Hi From The Sky 💫
His grandma was rescued
No. That child was stolen. She was outside her home. Ffs.
I agree. The poor physical health and destitute situation of the parents of George's grandmother makes it clear that they were unable to adequately care for her... George is here today because his grandmother was removed from the dire situation. That does not mean that her parents did not love her. They did love her and chose a different future for her...and thus she survived. George needs to show compassion for the misery and suffering of her parents.
@@kiraalialeeonfairythegreenoneDoesn't sound like they "chose" it. They may have resigned themselves to it
@@duncansonoryan"sToLEn" 😂🥴
That is not a rescue. Ripping a child away from their family, without consent, just because they are poor is a horrible trauma to inflict on the whole family. And, they were taken to an industrial school, not Disneyland. Think crowded conditions, poor food, strict religious people in charge, beatings, illness.
So asual kids were stolen from there familys how sad
So sad
How did he NOT know this was happening!?😳🙄
Here in The United States DCF takes our kids away. It is very sad.😢😢😢😢
My ex-in-laws lived in those apartments back in the early '00s. Where George was standing first, directly behind him was the apartment.
Terrible things happened to the children in Golden Bridge 😢 advocacy groups set up in 80s/90’s who fought for redress
He still got pretty face boy George he sing butt off love hit why won't hurt me
