Trauma is another issue most "Hmong" ppl can't wrap their heads around to acknowledge yet, but it truly does impact one's life forever. This hmong sister is so brave to not let it get further and got the courage to heal her wounds to better her life and learned to accpect the one that truly does love her regardless of her past.
Yep! For Hmong people rape is just an act of intercourse game. It is not as important as a wife cheating on her husband. Sad that our Hmong people are moving forward so so so slow. They are moving but so slowly that when it happens that they understand, they might be on their dead bed.

PTSD is not easy to overcome nor live with. Anything that even remotely reminds you of the past can be a trigger. So glad you found someone who was patient with you and willing to take the time to develop a trusting relationship with you. So proud of you! Only wish you happiness and wellness moving forward.

Human trafficking happens all over the countries, it is a scary world we live in.
If other people doing it I understand but your own people is doing it I feel that ours hmong people is heading the wrong paths....we already have a bad name...for the hmong people we don't need another one..

Wow what a story. Most of the time I heard this kind of story from news or from other nationalities. But never imagine this happening in our Hmong community especially targeting women from over sea. Sister I feel sad and sorry for what you been through. As a dad of two little young beautiful girls, I would be devastated if such events happened to my children. I am sure your dad would feel the same when he heard the story. As parents we wanted the best to happen to our girls in life from start to end. I am happy with you now that you find a better life and to those who do you harm will suffer the consequences.

What a kind hmong couple to have taken u in. Now a days, u don't often hear about kind hmong couples who are willing to take a stranger into their home. U are very lucky, after your trauma, of course, to have met that couple. And you also found a wonderful husband who truly loves u, respects u, and accepts your past. Not many hmong man can do that too.
