      If they’re resetting ranks this hard then absolutely. If the average demotion is around 6-8 divisions which I think is what it’s been, if in an optimistic scenario you have a 55% win rate that’s still well over 200 games to get back to where you are. You have a 3 month split where usually the first and last 1-2 weeks are generally very poor match quality, and you need to spend a ton of time before you’re even back to where you started. I know riot wanted to tackle rank inflation but they should’ve just waited for next season instead of doing a third split. With 3 splits you spend just as much if not more time getting back to where you ended previously as you do actually climbing

      imLS has a pattern of dishing out oversimplistic near-useless advises, all the way to horrible suggestions, especially given his rank.
      telling someone to aim for 10cs/m is only slightly better than telling someone to aim to crush at least 7 structures to win. it overplaces farming to the highest priority, without relative consideration of any other actions.
      does he honestly think a new player will have enough wisdom to not take that as an absolute, not having a clue how circumstantial decision making is, in this game? especially in jungle, especially as amumu a ganking champion. is LS really that tone deaf he's incapable of putting on someone else shoes and listen to himself?
      as if that's not bad enough he gave an even worse one to someone i assume is a new player, worse if he's stuck losing

      @@GrammeStudio He doesn't have the nuance in the initial statement, but he's just saying to have that mentality. League at its absolute core is about gaining gold and xp to outpace your opponent. You don't win games by going for that goal, but LS is stating that step 1 to learning league of legends is learning how to last hit. Once you can last hit well and it becomes second nature, then you learn other parts of the game. Obviously exclusively csing isnt correct, but the game is WAY too complex to teach someone how to last hit, trade, teamfight, split push, roam, set up objectives, etc.

      10 cs/m is impossible most games as Jungle. It's not something you can do consistently. It requires a laner to die, and you also need to have the downtime to pick up their farm. Or for the enemy jungler to consistently devalue their own farm in favor of ganks, and your team needs to have enough lane control for you to invade. Both of which are not going to happen regularly, and it will become increasingly uncommon in high elo brackets

    I really appreciate your LS rant. I am starting to take my League climb seriously after getting dumped into Iron and it has begun with just focusing on CS and I am starting to run into classic traps of "well I out farmed my lane, or I traded fine with my lane, why is my team getting stomped?" Gold, XP with a farming jung is still the easiest way to get out of elo hell, if enemy jung ganks, you think of invading his camps and trade xp and gold for his efforts he used to ganks. Also red buffs difs are the easiest way to trade -1vs1 with other jungles or reason to force invade into enemy jungle. I think most importantly is it to choose 1-2 champs a split to learn and otp them and look up pro builds and games from pro players. I know it's boring to only play 2 champs but if you want to play other champs play normals or arams. That the advice I can give you 😊😊

      If you saw the vod Curtis said good farm is a by product of other things which is true. If your goal in League is to farm 10 cspm. You missing out on many other things that are more impactful.

      @@2BsYummySoles I agree with you, but regognizing a good gank, a bad gank, is way harder for low Elo to learn than just ego playing farming Jung mechanics. It's not that hard to learn to 100 cs shy in 12 if you watch some videos, but it's still gonna be a always a new story by ganking, cause most champs a different, played different..... Additional even if the bounty system with gold and kills changed now, you have to know what to do with kills. Either you get the kills on jungle, you can buy better item, but that did not change much for your bot for instance... And if they get they get the kill, it's mostly not even worth for you as a jungle, by losing time gold and xp that your bot mostly does not know how to use and will gave the gold to enemies very soon. That being said I agree with you that there is more, but contextualising the easiest was to climb up helps the most. I am not a ls fan boy at all. Came back after a two year break. Played split 2 and had 80% winrate and ended up in high Diamond. I thought, wow the games finally feel balanced, with only few trolls & afks. Then split 3 happened.. Got placed in Emeral 4 and the matchmaking was as bad as it has never been before. I played against split 2 master players with split 2 full platinum players, and this almost every game. After a while matchmaking was still insanely unbalanced and I noticed that people started to troll, int and afk because of frustration, which made it even more impossible to climb. I went through something similar recently. Won 3 Lost 17 Games over a 20 game period when I first started the split. Tilted was an understatement. Watched Curtis's video on the Split 3 changes and gave me so much insight into why this had happened. It's shit but, it ends. Currently 50% WR over last 20 game up from 15% as previously stated. Games have flipped, no more trolls/ints/afks and most importantly climbing again! If you quit now, you'll fall further behind not playing at all rather than having a realistic acceptance of the game state. VOD reviews post game and /mute all has made a HUGE difference. Also every high elo player had to grind from low elo at one point , which means they put hundreds of games in low to get high , even myself started silver 2 for 3 years , 1tricked yasuo for 700 games just to get to d4, then season after that i went from d4 to challenger.Once you get a good understanding overall of the game it gets alot easier to move up over time. I've found game quality has CONSIDERABLY dropped, and to an extent this happens every season, but I only got back into league seriously last split after playing in season 7-9 seriously. But I've noticed that this season is just terrible. People are flipping every game cause theyre so tilted, I'm having to hard carry almost every game I win, and ACEing almost every game I lose. If I slip up and feed or if I let a troll tilt me for even 1 or 2 games it tips my 55% wr to 45%. the 30-40-30 rule just seems to not be how it feels. Feels so much like 45% of games are guaranteed losses (even if you snowball the early game) and you have to sweat your ass off to win the other 55%. Riot should have done this at the beginning of a new year long season imo, rather than at the end of the year in the 3rd split. If you fought hard to arrive in Gold coming out of the hell in silver and below and now get placed in bronze for no reason you where robbed of your achievement and have to climb out of that hell again. After that I got chafted by the new system got places in silver 4 with the same people from gold mixed with people in that actual elo. Now all matches felt even more a gamble than before. Riot's approach to ranked this last season has just been horrifically awful. I quit ranked at the end of last year after reach my goal (Masters), and don't plan on coming back unless they make significant changes. Not only are they forcing people to climb 3 times a year (exhausting), but they're doing the hardest reset to high elo they've ever done IN THE MIDDLE OF THE YEAR?
    That being said, I genuinely don't think Riot cares about players like me anymore. Their goal is just to get people addicted to the grind and have whales spend tons of money on insanely priced exclusive skins and battle passes. They're culling the playerbase and milking those that remain because they don't view League as a growth game or sustainable.

    I was actually thinking about quitting league because of this split (or at least for a while)
    I got Emerald 4 last season and since the new season I can't get over Gold 4.
    I focus on learning and improving and I feel I play better and better, but still it doesn't matter.
    I particularly don't like the quality of the game. I want to improve to get into better games with better players and I feel the opposite is happening.
    And don't get me wrong: I know all elo is elo hell, I'd just like a bit more consistency like I feel I had in previous years.
    All I get is players giga feeding nonstop, quitting games, afking, feeding on purpose, trolling lane assignments, troll picking in champ select.
    Is not like is just one game that happen this in a couple: IS ALMOST EVERY SINGLE GAME. And I think the culprit is matchmaking disparities and these MM changes.

Every game there's a minimum of 2-3 of INTing or leavers. I don't understand how they've made matchmaking so one sided, but it feels like if you start to lose games you continue to get paired with players who are also losing. As a support player this is honestly making me want to take a break from the game until they change whatever THIS is. 1:06:00 to tomas, there is a saying in the board game Go that I find very applicable for anyone with ranked anxiety and I hope the Nate and Curtis can start using. The saying is "lose your first 100 games as quickly as possible" with the number "100" being changed to 50 or 1000 depending on who you are talking to and the specific scenario. This is an admittedly strange mindset shift, but you basically just need to go into games and, while still trying to win, try to get to 100 losses as fast as possible. This is used both for complete beginners learning the game and for those with ranked anxiety who are scared of losing rating so they barely play ranked.
    This all coincides with the "dojo" mindset. When you've payed 20 games, a loss is a huge deal. It is 5% of your ranked journey, so of course it will feel huge. When you've lost 100 games, you probably played around 200 games or so, so any loss is

    When I first started out playing league in s10 I had gotten the 10cs/m advice and proceeded to hit iron with a 30%wr on kat mid because I was too willing to trade my hp for farm among my other shortcomings. I ended up giving kat up and shooting up to bronze and silver over the course of s11-12 when I started to play mid lane mages where all my practice csing was more in line with the identity of the champion. There is so much bad low elo advice out there, but there is hardly any accountability or curiosity into whether the advice some of these high elo guys give is actually productive to be telling a low elo player.

      well katarina is probably the worst midlane champ to ever focus 10cs on in fact you are often losing if you cs too much on kata its a mechanical champ and you have to see every opportunity or a bad enemy to make something out of her the skill ceiling is unimaginable with her, on the other hand you can easily climb higher doing this but playing malzahar the champ changes how you have to play the game not the game the champion

  • @amarijae
    @amarijae 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

    Getting 10 cspm is one piece of advice that I’ve gotten multiple times while playing multiple roles and it just doesn’t get me anywhere. I even paid for coaching where I was told that at my current level in jungle (iron/bronze) I should be aiming for 6-7 cspm, getting back to camp respawn at 4:20, and assessing conditions before taking objectives, and that should get me to silver. Except I consistently get that amount of farm, get back to my camps by 4:20 or no more than 20 secs later after a successful early gank, and I assess conditions before taking objectives and it just doesn’t matter. I can do all those things and still lose more often than not. My issues are dealing with teammates that throw. For example, laners who think that taking my jungle camps when they’re full build is the move instead of pushing lanes and sieging. Teammates who want to permafight or ARAM instead of pushing side lines. Teammates who don’t listen when you ping your head off to communicate what your plan is, like pushing lanes or going to a certain part of the map, etc. Like I know there is TONS I can do better, but when I’m already doing these things and getting told I’ll climb if I just do this and then not climbing while doing those things… it fucking sucks. Like why is what I’m doing not enough? Why did I bother paying for the coaching when it’s not actually helping me get anywhere?

    • @MIKAEL212345
      @MIKAEL212345 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      hard to say without watching your games or seeing a profile. could be you don't play enough, could be you are making game losing mistakes in mid/late game which counter acts the good early game or could be missing game winning opportunities, could be you getting that 4:20 camp respawn, but not doing it consistently enough for it to matter, etc.
      Do you review your games? three block? Are you really doing all those things every single game? Track it yourself. After every game, write down if you got the 4:20 camp respawn, if you checked win conditions, etc. Sometimes, when I stuck and think I'm doing everything right, I really am doing everything right, but I'm not doing it consistently enough. I might do X right in games 1, 3 and 7, Y right in games 2, 3, 4 and 6 and then Z right in games 1, 4 and 5. It feels like I'm doing X, Y and Z right, but it isn't consistent enough to matter.
      Also improvement very often looks like plateau, then everything clicks into a spike, then another plateau and so on.

      As a jungler, farming is not how you win games, regardless of what coaches want to tell you. The jungler is the primary playmaker of the team. Your job is to get map control for the team by invading, ganking, getting picks/punishing people who are out of position, and setting up objectives by sweeping for vision with your support. It is by far the most dynamic role in the game and fundamentals do not teach you how to be good at jungle. You have to really understand timing, map rotations, etc. It's like playing quarterback in football or point guard in basketball. You are relatively in charge of strategy and calling the shots in 70% of scenarios.

    I don't specifically want to defend LS here, but one of the things I do see with some players is that they don't value farm as much as they could. I do think this is endemic to a specific type of player more so than others e.g. I find this extremely common with people who play Fizz, Sylas, Akali etc., where they either completely sack their lane if they are losing it and just perma roam which is a valid strategy though, but once mid game hits, they get so caught up in the dopamine of constant fighting it never occurs to them that they are being extremely ineffective with how they spend their time where they usually lose their lead because of how it puts them so behind relative to the opponent who is more picky when they fight and keep up their farm. These are the sort of players LS is probably thinking of when says to focus more on farming, but the issue is the delivery. What he's trying to say is to value farming more over fighting which is solid advice for the player who overvalues fighting, but he delivers it by giving this concrete number which creates an actual mental goal of trying to always achieve a specific tangible result which can become toxic if you don't reevaluate the hypothesis why this is an important goal to achieve.
    For someone who respects LS even if I don't always agree with him, I did find that him stating trying to reach 10 cs a min quite helpful when I was newer to the game, because I genuinely struggled to last hit. It helped me reshape my understanding of League as a resource management game and the way it impacted me now several years later is that the only thing that tilts me really hard is when I am falling very behind in farm and XP to my lane opponent, probably because I know those are the things I can directly influence whereas I cannot always influence enemy Katarina instantly roaming bot side after a reset and getting a triple kill.
    With that said I've also seen the player who takes his advice to the extreme and never interacts with their opponent during the laning phase. They always notably play control mages too, especially Orianna and Syndra, which just goes to show what impact he still has over the low elo community in this regard. Syndra is particularly weird given that her passive literally incentivizes her towards trading with her opponent in other to build passive stacks more quickly, which also shows how the perception of Syndra as this scaling control mage who farms to 2 items and oneshots people in the mid game is also very much alive despite her mini-rework (people forgot about Syndra being a lane bully weirdly quickly).
    Fundamentally, I think what I disagree with here isn't so much that LS is giving bad advice but more so that he refuses to acknowledge that he is. He knows he can't coach low elo players because he tried early on in order to earn extra cash and quickly realized he just can't empathize with their issues and it takes too much effort for him to try to understand them so it was easier for him to just say he's not up for the task, but I think he also realized that his audience will statistically always be comprised of largely a low elo audience, so he still tries to cater to them in this way. He could try to understand his audience better and where they're coming from but he's not.

      issue with advise from folks like LS, is they operate under ASSUMPTIONS that are highly unlikely in bronze. they dont seem to be consciously aware of their presuppositions
      you're only able to invade effectively if there's roam leverage. but roam leverage is pointless if laners dont rotate
      leading a dive is only powerful if laners can follow up your dive
      ganks are only powerful if your laners look at minimap more than once per 5min and know to setup ganks
      yet LS and his peers usually assume those 'advance' behavior arepart of bronze skillsets. yet bronze players are assumed to not know farming is (most) important?
      that only shows how out of touch folks like LS could be. bronze players know about 'advanced' knowledge but clueless about the 'basic' skill?
      the kind of absolutism playstyle informed by his kind of absolutism principle is also asinine, given how drastic one should be playing amumu vs fiddlestick.
      amumu excels at ganking, fiddlestick is a poor early ganker. telling ludwig to focus on farming on both powerganker and powerfarmer is so ignorant, that it can only be equated to a bronze laner expecting his jungler to gank every minute and all lane soloing all dragons

    The easiest way to start learning about a champions identity is to understand what class Riot has put it into. These are all found on their website, but I think the fandom has a nicely organized list. They are broken down into Artillery, Assassin, Battlemage, Burst, Catcher, Diver, Enchanter, Juggernaut, Marksman, Skirmisher, Specialist, Vanguard, and Warden. Each has a basic formula that gives you an idea of how all of the champions within the class work, and you can see the patterns that way. A good example is comparing Fiora, Jax, and Riven, all Skirmishers. They all have some kind of mobility, but it's not long in distance, more likely to be short and low cooldown. They have a defined defensive ability (riven shield, jax stun, fiora parry), and they all have ultimates that directly increase their ability to fight in directly understandable ways, like stat gains and increased damage. They all have a unique way to play their individual kits, but if you understand they all have a similar strategy using a similar kit, you can quickly get a grasp on whatever champion you're trying to learn, and then get the specifics while you play.

    The problem with "little jimmy grinding and finally hitting diamond" is that he really didnt earn diamond. Riot inflated LP gains and anyone who was high plat a couple years ago could have easily hit diamond in the last few splits. They stopped giving it away this split and now little jimmy is on an alt in plat, griefing the game after the first bad thing that happens because he "doesnt belong in this elo with these pigs" even though every other player in the lobby was also diamond last season. So many people in my games are on alt accounts either smurfing or not willing to play on main and its made matchmaking horrible. They aren't queuing to win and give up instantly because the account they're on doesn't matter to them.
    I agree that riot needed to curb the LP inflation in the game to make these ranks mean something again, and I've always been asking for a harder reset to keep people from being grandfathered into their old rank, but they really should have waited until S15 or communicated it very clearly to the player base what was going to happen this split. The small note in the patch notes that almost no one read means most players just think this split is horrible/broken/bugged and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy as they switch to playing on alts and troll their games.

      Good insight here. i've been rounding master - grand master for a while now and much of what you say is true, specially the low master players were given free elo tbh, nowhere near a regular master playstyle or decision making, but, in my opinion this split is horrible/broken/bugged somehow. the matches are not equal at all, it feels like they grabbed all the players (good and bad) into high emerald - low diamond and the games are chaotic, from a consistent 55-57% winrate on all my past seasons im now at 46% in diamond 3 elo.

    I found this video in my feed and I am so glad I did. The same things you all have been saying is what I have been saying since I first hit gold back in season two with just 6 months of playing. When I first started playing and until season 5 it felt really good to go up and when I was beat I knew it was because of misplays lack of warding or something clearly obvious. I was able to 1 v 2 because of skill and outplays sometimes 1 v 3 even with 1 lvl behind because of skill. Since all of the changes the game has felt pretty bad. Champs that have no resource pool, can jump to infinity and beyond. Its getting kind of insane. In split 2 I hit emerald 2 and was about to get into diamond for the first time because I was trying mind you as the worst role right now as ADC or mArKsMan. Idk what has been going on and I understand some of the changes have been relatively healthy but this is just getting crazy. I used to watch pro play for the innovations and crazy outplays from all sorts of players but as of the last 5 years most of the outplays have been pretty bleak. Mind you I was watching when the community was only 100,000 strong. I felt when you all said its not just about the farm. When traveling to Korea to see my family we would go to a pc cafe and play games where we were 7 to 10 kills behind. Collectively we would decide to team fight and gain leads only losing 2 to 3 people and killing 4 to 5 of them because we knew what our champs could do or handle then take obj and towers. Where as in NA its a poop storm where people die 3 times and its "GG Lane or jungler feeding go next waaaaaah" as they actively ignore that lane and dont even attempt to help that person out. It already was in Split 2
    Peaked Emerald for the first time after coming back to the game In years. I went on TH-cam watched coaching videos and informed of latest, understanding the game with new eyes.
    Split 2 comes and after 4/5 placements Plat 1 50LP, I thought I would be chilling......how wrong I was...
    Ended up quitting after I went on negative win rate and ending in Gold 3. Some games were unbearable with the difference in skill from players. Granted, some games might have been my performance that failed the team, but the vast majority was not.
    I was getting negative LP gains. Got into a negative win rate for the first EVER. I was extremely confused. But I knew this was due to RIOT's game system, which is a no more that a construct, a fake. Otherwise, what happened to the "if you are good, you climb and belong to the elo you are in"? Did I suddenly became not good? Do I suddenly do not deserve to have classes climbed to Emerald? The hours I spent (re)educating myself on the game no longer matter? Disgusting practice to attempt to retain players. Ultimately, only those who can play 10h a day will take profit from ranked.
    I am now giving it another try in Split 3. Again at 4/5 winning placements and I am silver 4.....there is no motivation.....why do they do this? I will be now a whole division after my placements, for what?

    Once I had a few game on syndra where I tried to have 10cs/m for the first 15-20 minutes just to have a feel of how good my champion feels if I am farmed up. I think it was good for me, because I played too aggressively and gave up a lot of cs for trading , now I am aware that what I lose for a trade. So I think “10cs/m” is not good in long term, but can be helpful if you just use it to explore different styles of the champions ( especially if you play extremely aggressive)
    As for live coaching, I think it is good, but it is different for everyone. Someone resonates better with it some not, and I think elo bracket is a variable as well. When it is a new concept, it is more helpful like this is an example of how to do . And then you can remember how it was. Sometime good, but it is a tool and have to use it the correct way, with logical reasoning why it is better in that case. Most of the time I think VOD is better, but sometimes I think live coaching can give a good grasp on the topic,as a starting point to the learning process.

    CS is a prime example of easy to learn but extremely hard to master to a point of diminishing returns at a certain point because if that's your goal you occupy too much of your mental stack too much. Not to be confused with downtime.
    Its like spacing. You wouldn't tell someone to only focus on that in silver because while it can auto win you the lane. But you need a fundamental knowledge of a lot of other things to express it. Because if you are unaware of a Zeds where abouts and facecheck the ability to space does little for you

      ...at some point, putting time into learning the first basic skill becomes so much harder to achieve next level that it becomes more efficient to learn something else to witness a sudden spike in performance.
      ...there's a reason why kids dont just learn one subject all the way to PhD before learning another one. bruce lee might be correct about practicing one kick 10,000 times but that's only because it's compared to practicing 10,000 different kicks once. a much more realistic comparison would be between practicing a kick another 5,000 times vs practicing punching 5000 times

    Man, banger podcast that I'm leaving two comments in one day haha. First off, I can understand where you're coming from Curtis about livecoaching; however, I think your argument against it was a bit reactionary. I think "live coaching" is better viewed as another tool in the toolbox and is something that will have a time and a place. That experience Leena got is something that she most likely will never forget and there is something so powerful in that ability to make a direct connection from "learning objective" to "actual real-time impact". When you're playing League by yourself, there are so many things going on that even if Leena had made it a learning objective to "ward and lean" and did it in the game. Eventually the chaos of the game for the next 25 or 30 mins can take away the ability to clearly see the impact of that one instance of warding and leaning in-game. Sure, you can go back and review your game to see if you did it properly or not, but sometimes that doesn't always give you that aha! moment. Live coaching can give the learner the ability to free up mental stack since they now have the "coaching training wheel", which I believe allows the learner to actually visually see impact and internalize the lessons, instead of the moment being completely lost due to the cognitive demand of the game. I think a good example of this I can compare to was when I was a kid learning soccer. My coach was trying to teach us how to "open up" our body to receive the ball and the importance of it to be able to position ourselves properly to later pass the ball. Listening and watching the coach do it in training helped me a little, but it wasn't after he stopped the session. Physically oriented me, and pointed out in that specific scenario what to focus on, that it finally clicked with me. So no, I don't think it will stop people or stunt their ability to learn League. If anything, under the right circumstances, I think live coaching, can really shine a light and help your viewers as you say "achieve their goals faster".

    I would disagree with the comment at 1:25:30 ish about pekinwoof.
    Yes he's played so much league that he knows it like the back of his hand, but he's actually really good at explaining what he's doing in the game.
    For content that is primarily entertainment, i've probably learnt more about mid lane and what champion matchups look like from him than any other educational content.

    Last day of the season, on my main account, i lost 5 times the game that would promote me to diamond. I had afks in my teams, 4 times in the last day of the season. At the start of this season, after going 3-2 in placements, i am gold 1

    A bunch of friend and I started a challenge a couple of weeks ago: Everyone has to take a fresh account in Iron/Bronze and play 100 ranked games in soloQ (no duoQ allowed). Keep in mind that our elo goes from Emerald to M500LP. So far the junglers have had the easier time while ADCs started struggling against smurfs in Gold/Plat. On the other hand our Master tier support got a 14 day suspention for inting and flaming around Plat elo. Almost everyone thought the climb was gonna be easier. I Guess we're masochists.
    When it comes to matchmaking we noticed that our team was consistently (and collectively) 400-600 LP BELOW the average of the enemy team, we don't see that in any other account we have. For istance I was starting the challenge and I was playing jungle in Bronze elo and got matched with an Emerald 4 jungler. (It was not a placement game). I can see the frustration coming from the honest bronze players who started the game already tilted becasue of that.

      That makes sense honestly, if 1 team has a smurf on it, then the average of the other 4 players should be lower to compensate.

      @Freakattaker 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They've been gradually adding improvements to their smurf detection system (Vanguard included with it's TPM 2.0 identifier); so you guys all prob got flagged early on as smurfs and the matchmaking you're given is adjusted for it already.

    honestly the ranked system just gets worse and worse every year. they keep making miserable changes and it’s hard to stay motivated in between both the fact that ranks are massively elo-inflated and the fact that it takes hundreds of games just to climb on an old account. i don’t even know what adding a third split is supposed to fix.

    • @vibechecktsundere4912
      @vibechecktsundere4912 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +10

      The ranks are fairly deflated this split compared to the other 2 this season. At the very least, elo inflated ranks in league are still way more exclusive by distribution than any other major competitive game out there. I think they just need to put more low master players back in diamond since masters is supposed to entail well, mastery of the game

    • @eckard9597
      @eckard9597 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      According to some of the players i've run into while getting my accounts back up to emerald a couple hundred games a split isn't that much. Some of these absolute giga-chads of gold elo are banging out thousands a month. Ran into someone with over 3700 in the last 4 months, and already 400 this split

      You are literally experiencing right now emotionally how it feels when riot deflates the ranked ladder and yet you are complaining about ranked inflation. How do you explain this cognitive dissonance to yourself?
      Did you think that only a certain number of players above you were rank inflated? No, you were as well.

      @@tatamigalaxy-i5r Adding to your point, the vast majority of players in league have never experienced a hard reset. This split's reset is the closest we've been to a hard reset in a very very long time, and i think it's really showing how many people were inflated in the past. I'm running into many last split emerald accounts that are struggling to climb in gold/plat lobbies (50+ games with flat or negative win rates). Myself and my friends that are emerald+ are not having any trouble climbing with high win rates through gold/plat, albeit progress is slower than past seasons.

    Good take though i don't agree ! about the 10 cs / min LS thing; personnally the 10 cs / min advice was for me the main contributor to me climbing from gold all the way to diamond, now of course , this advice doesn't give you the correct steps to follow to be a better player , but it is a nice and simple OBJECTIVE to have in mind, as an adc main, after starting to follow the 10 cs/min advice, it helped me cleanse my mind of useless concerns in low elo : dragon timer, other lanes performance, my supports mechanics etc ... and instead that gave me a nice ROUTINE to follow everygame, secure every last cs until my team offers me opportunities, constantly trying to get 10 cs / min taught me which matchups that was impossible against, which cs to give up and which to go for, when to crash and when to slowpush and other things. 10 cs/min is not about ACHIEVING the number, it's about having it as your primary motivation in the game, instead of trying to think about a million different objectives.

    The irony of rank deflating this split is that everyone got inflated when they added the Emerald tier. So it's probably just what it was like 2 years ago 🤷

  • @nou2880

    A hard ranked reset each split is bad for most players, as most do not have the time to full-time grind the game and a reset each split feels like you've lost your all your progress made especially with how brutal this recent reset has been. On the other hand, I do agree that masters especially has become quite inflated especially in split 2 this season, e.g. in oce with over 1000 masters players with many who used to be low diamond, so I do like how they are deflating the ranks. I hope riot fixes LP gains and instead implements 2 soft resets a season like they did last season

    I can't understand why the hidden MMR ranks people in platinum or emerald, but their placed visible rank is silver/gold. It's as if you have to prove you are still that good, but you have favourable LP gains so you don't even have to prove it that hard. Just play enough games to get back to your visible matching hidden rank.
    I feel like when there was an off season, it made sense to bump people down, they had all year to climb back again and the extended break with season changes may genuinely have knocked some players down in ranking if they hadn't stayed current with the meta changes.
    As it is now, I'm playing low gold games with an emerald ability level. The games aren't fun because the majority of players are well below my skill level. And I know I have to play another 20 to 40 games just to get back to a reasonable skill bracket for my experience and ability level.
    It's like being told as a 16 year old to go play with 12 year olds and work your way up by proving you are better than them. No fun for anyone.
