I am a Bengali. People from all over Bengal come here... It's not even in Kolkata... It is in a small town called Barrackpore, people take train from Kolkata for this! Some even make a nice long drive out of it! I speak from personal experience...

Every individual has different tastes but i always choose Kolkata biryani over Hydrabadi biryani....The reason is , it is plain and not having so much masalas which is healthy and good for health....but i don't understand why they are giving podina chatnis instead of dahi raita....Biryani without curd raita is incomplete anyway

Curd raita is given for Hyderabadi Biriyani because for its spicyness.... Kolkata biriyani can have it by itself

This is barrackpore. 15 km north from main kolkata. But if you call garia, kolkata then, you can call barrackpore, kolkata.

The food looks amazing and am sure it will be test good. Love to try too. But Would be better if they use disposable gloves instead of nacket hand. Just my suggestion.

Video clarity is awesome Veer Ji 👌. Im from Chennai. Never tasted Kolkata style Biriyani yet. Is the Biriyani spicy? Rice looks to be white and no masala?
As per standard spice quotient, this Biryani is on a little higher side. However, for people like you from Tamilnadu, it won't taste that hot since you people are habituated enjoying Dindigul Thalapakatti, Ambur Biryani etc. Btw, Kolkata style Biryani is best known for insane aroma, not hotness.
P. S. Don't know why people get confused between spice and hotness deriving from chilies, peppercorns, cloves etc!!

@@786sourav Yes but I find Awadhi more flavourful you can smell it like from 1 km away and it's full of ghee and quite heavy....on the other hand Kolkata biriyani u can have 2 plates and still have some space left for mutton chap😀

You see, traditional cooking is all about finding the right note of gastronomy in terms of taste, combination of right spices and it's impact on digestive system overall. Awadhi Biryani is often served with Raita as accompaniment just to help the grease cut down by tart. However, that's not the case with Kolkata Biryani which is frequently enjoyed with even heavier Chaap or Qorma 😋😋😋

1st Dada Boudi is not in Kolkata. I am a kolkata basi, I love dada boudi. 2nd its in Barrackpore and Sodepur which is not a part of kolkata. Dada Boudi is the pride of Barrackpore and Sodepur please don't take it away.
