Like many others I'm sure, I'm on a tear getting caught up on as much lore as I can since the release of the Veilguard trailer. Not sure how that game will turn out, but the lore of this series will always be great! Thanks for adding your share - it was very well-written, presented, paced, and informative.
Please continue this series. Love your voice and the vocal treatment. It's hard to find dragon age lore videos with high quality voiceovers. 😭 Need good sleep material.
With the new game coming out a continuation of this series might be well worth the effort. Love your work over all the various lore vids you currently do.
Dragon Age: Origins has some interesting fate for the Origins you didn't pick the Dwarf Commoner and Dwarf Noble taking place days apart -source Npc dialogue during Dwarf Commoner Origin And if you didn't play the Dwarf Commoner he dies of starvation The Dalish Elf dies during there story but if you play that Origin they live...
The ages explanation was very helpful, thanks for this! I want to know all the names heard correctly so it would be great if you could add them in video or transcript as the names are new for me and i wanna absorb! Read the wiki whole night so i mostly got all the names but a few couldn't understand. Edit: Just saw the transcript...my bad, it's all there! Thanks for all the hard work
i was curious about the Dragon age series lore so set to watch this, got the vibe of Games of Throne but much more complicated they could cut off some of the ages to make the lore less confusing anyhow its nice
I'm a huge DA fan and with your video's help, I believe to have drawn some conclusions which never occurred to me: basically, the elves are some kind of Eldar (Warhammer 40k)/Protoss (StarCraft) hybrid; Ferelden is some kind of Rohan (LotR); Orlais some kind of Gondor (LotR); Tevinter some kind of Tal'darim (StarCraft); the darkspawn some kind of Zerg (StarCraft)/Tyranids (Warhammer 40k) hybrid; the mages some kind of psykers (Warhammer 40k); etc. I find no analogy for the templars, the dwarves, grey wardens, etc.
There is a lot more to what caused the Quicking than what most humans think. Long ago before the Veil separated the Fade and Thedas, a group of Elven Mages were famed for helping the Elves win the war against the Titans, the believed creators of the Dwarves. The Elven Mages soon became monarchs and later, worshipped as gods. They renamed themselves as the Evanuris and built the Elevhen Empire that spread across Thedas. But over time, the Evanuris got drunk with power and enslaved their own people. They put tattoos upon the Elves known as Vallaslin, which showed what god the elf belonged too. Mythal, one of the Evanuris, cares for her fellow people and wanted to put a stop to all of this. But the Evanuris slew her out of their lust for power. Solas, who was a close friend to Mythal and one of the Evanuris rebelled against his fellow tyrants and started a war that resulted in the destruction of the Elven Empire. During the war, Solas banished the Evanuris into the Fade and created the Veil to keep the, locked up. But in order to create the Veil, he had to steal the Elves Immortality in order to create the only seal to keep the Evanuris locked out. As for how the Qunari came to be, rumors state that the Tevinter Imperium used dragon blood on their elven test subjects for their experiments.

So! How do you feel about Veilguard?
This is such a well presented video, I'm a huge DA fan but remembering the ages is always hard and this helped make it so much simpler
I'm glad I could help. There's more lore to come :)
I've played probably 2,000 hours of Dragon Age and read maybe 7 codex entries, thank you for this gift of lore.
I'm here to break it down for you!
I always wanna make it a point to read all the entries when I replay the games but just never can 😭😭
Please continue this series. Love your voice and the vocal treatment. It's hard to find dragon age lore videos with high quality voiceovers. 😭
Need good sleep material.

This is a fantastic introduction to the world of Thedas. Thank you.
With the new game coming out a continuation of this series might be well worth the effort. Love your work over all the various lore vids you currently do.

You should absolutely play Dragon Age!

I really hope your channel gets picked up, the videos are so great, It's sad to see this effort not get rewarded, I hope your channel gets picked up.
Me too! The Fable videos do okay, Half-Life videos do really well and I'm hoping the Dragon Age video get more attention.
Yes, mage forever!
How was the veil created??
YES IT'S TIME
LETS GO
Be careful with this series as bioware as a tendency to retcon a lot of lore
Hopefully they don't change too much! If they do, I can always make a video about it!
