Hooray for the increase in maximum allowed monsters! I bumped into that limit in my streamed gameplay and I wasn't even trying to be a monster collector, I can only imagine what it was like for people who wanted monster teams for more of their knights.

I love all the changes! Especially the custom difficulty options! I can't wait for the PS4 release!

I just got to know the update right now....and man! My prayers were answered since it's kind of a bummer for monster capping at 140 from the original Brigandine, and then 100 for this new game...but this is a nice surprise! Will definitely replay the game because of this.
If there is anything they would add in any possible future patches, I wish they would add a way to check a knights outlook on a quest in another castle before moving there and potentially wasting a turn.
Maaaaan I'm SO happy with this update. I love all the changes, specially the difficulty and the auto battle, it really bugged me the first 2-3 turns where you had to move every single unit towards your opponent in a humongous map

Omg I was in middle of my 3rd praythrough, and then took a break from it(as other games were coming out), so didn't know about this. Sweet a no time limit option, and it not being tied to difficulty, hell yes. The only thing I didn't like about the brigandine games, is that there's a time limit, and to make things worse, the time limit was tied to the difficulty setting, which kind of ruins the game, if you want a bigger challenge.. I kind of want to start a new game now, but I'm in the middle of a gameplay, so I'll beat this run first. Such a awesome addition.
Also nice, that was one of the things I didn't like about Runersia over the 1st game, missing monsters, specifically no titan class. Good, the Goblin really did need a 3rd tier upgrade.
The higher monster cap is a welcomed addition as well. Sweet, that was so annoying having fainted enemies beable to dodge attacks, glad they fixed that.
Well, goblins already used to be a strong backline with their MP-free 3-hex 25% Paralyze skill. Now with increased defense and 50% poison chance goblins can play out as a decent frontline filler.
these changes are great, and its awesome they listened to the players. from all the difficulty options, the only one i would never use is the removal of capturing monsters. even if that monster wasn't useful for my team, being able to steal it from my enemy is one of the most fun things about the game (same for equipment).
I can see the point of keeping monster captures. In the same token though it does make it more difficult allowing the enemy to keep their monsters.

Just a fun fact: in Japanese, this update was called "titans and the impregnable battlefield", referring to the new Gigas class (3rd tier) and the "guard castle hex" AI (implying its defense is now "impregnable" because they're actually protecting the castle). I'm looking forward to seeing how good these AI improvements are!
Thanks for the clarity! I assumed Iron Front was referring to the enemy in some fashion.
For the most part, I am pretty happy with the update.
However, ai still attack you with 0% success rate, that needs to be fixed on the next patch.

1:42 Question: is "guard castle hex" really the hardest AI setting? That's also what I thought at first, but in the Japanese version (see the picture on the Dengeki article at dengekionline (dot) com (slash) articles (slash) 57746), they set the highest difficulty AI to "changes every battlefield" (in Japanese, "戦場ごとに変化"). I'm not sure if that option really is random (as the English version shows) or if it's just flexible (since in some situations it is actually better to leave the castle even on defense, like when one of the enemy knights is isolated from the others).
I have no clue. Didn't want to assume that Random was the most difficult, even if it is the 3rd option. Players will experiment though I'm sure.
@@TheStellarArcade I just watched Igarashi-san (the game producer) showcasing the update on the famitsu channel (youtube id: 1X8b71xDrWw), and he did choose the "strongly defend the castle hex" (in Japanese, "城ヘクスを堅守") as a part of the hardest difficulty settings (at 19:08; I guess that settles the question). Also, he showed how important ranged attacks will be to counter that behavior (using a lot of shadow goblins to focus on knights behind the frontline, since their "abaddon wave" is ranged but it's not a pre-move skill), which reminds me of Mike's "centaur rush" strategy (I guess that makes sense, since camping at the castle is the default strategy for human players). Finally, an off-topic comment: even Igarashi-san is affected by the "1 HP curse", as you can see at 47:30 in that video :P

Brigandine is not available for PC.
@@TheStellarArcade im playing with the emulator atm, just dont have this update, the time limit with Easy mode is such a pain in the ass :(
